WHAT IS IT? A re-entry permit is a document that allows foreign nationals with a valid Thai visa to leave and re-enter the country without invalidating their existing visa. Re-entry permits are necessary for individuals holding a non-immigrant visa who plan to travel abroad temporarily and then return to Thailand. 1


TYPE OF RE-ENTRY PERMIT Single Re-entry Permit is the request for permission every time before traveling outside the country, suitable for those who rarely travel abroad or have a temporary short-term stay allowed within the kingdom. During the waiting period for the consideration result to stay in the kingdom, the fee is 1,000 Baht per entry, applicable only once for the return journey. Multiple Re-entry Permit is the request for permission once, but allows multiple trips outside the country during the specified period of the granted stay within the kingdom. It is suitable for individuals who need to frequently travel abroad or have a temporary long-term stay allowed within the kingdom. Or those who have been granted permission to stay in Thailand for one year. The fee is 3,800 Baht per entry. 2

The process of applying for a Re-entry Permit can be done in two ways. 1. Normal Submission - Prepare complete documentation along with the required fee. - Submit the application at the Immigration Bureau. 2. Online Appointment Submission: -Visit the website (https://division1.immigration.go.th/content/online_services) - Select the "Book Appointment to Apply for Re-entry Permit into the Kingdom" banner. - Fill in the system with accurate and complete information. - Choose a date and time for the appointment (it is advisable to schedule at least 2 business days in advance). - Receive the appointment booking code. - Prepare complete documentation along with the required fee. - Contact the immigration officer on the scheduled day and time at the Immigration Bureau 1. 5THE PROCESS OF APPLYING FOR A RE-ENTRY PERMIT


The online appointment submission is a convenient and quick process, providing One Stop Service that takes approximately 5 minutes (if all documents are complete). This service is available only at the Chalerm Phra Kiat Government Center on Chaeng Watthana Road, suitable for individuals residing in Bangkok and its vicinity. After the immigration officer verifies and approves the submission, the Re-entry Permit stamp will be affixed to the foreigner's passport and in the TM.8 document as evidence.
