Defining Diversity

Diversity refers to the things that you CAN or CANNOT see when looking at an
individual. It means accepting and valuing that each person is unique.

recognizing each person’s differences, and understanding and
valuing the uniqueness and beliefs of those who demonstrate a wide range

of characteristics.

This can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual
orientation, socio-economics status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs,
or other ideologies.
