Welcome to our 2nd Issue

It has been a crazy few months since we launched this magazine, but it's
been great fun along the way. I must say that the response is
overwhelming with fans eager to share their tales and passion with us on
these pages. Be it by partaking in our events, or just sharing their BMW
related stories and experiences with us, it is really a wonderful experience.
So with bubbling enthusiasm, we look forward to the future of this
SABeemer Magazine.

In this issue we take off where we left off in our previous Launch issue
magazine, with showcasing a historic player in the build up to the
popularity of BMW in this country in the form of 2 E20 track cars.
These machines were raced in the local GroupN Series all around South Africa in the 80s and early 90s. The cars are currently housed
at JSN Motors in Bryanston on the upstairs showroom oor.
We also look at our last BMW Day GP which took place at The Glen Shopping Centre. A magical day which brings all BMW fans across
Gauteng to a place of Beemer madness.

The Franschhoek Motor Museum is a gem of a place, and I got to visit it again thanks to BMW South Africa choosing it as a location to
celebrate 100 years of BMW Automobiles. A hall - which is usually lled with old classic cars, was emptied for a pretty collection of
sought after BMW's to strut their beauty for the media and public to enjoy.
We then take a look at the Annual BeemerFest in Cape Town at Killarney which in 2017 will be its 8th edition. So lookout for info on the
next one as we await conrmation from the Killarney Motor Racing Complex for a date.
Charity is important and in this issue we highlight the needy community of George in particular The Bethesda Foundation which we
were fortunate to assist with some items that the Childrens Home required.
Our highlight feature of this issue is the M3 Owners Squad of Cape Town. Read all about this club through the words of their founder
and some brilliant pics by Naiem Ebrahim.
I was fortunate enough to attend the BMW Car Club Concours at Nelson Mandela Square and it was a pretty good event, with some
proper cars on display and the competition as tough as ever.

We then move into the 'SABeemer Magazine Launch' phase with the rst one taking place at Auric Auto BMW Dealership in Cape
Town. A great evening spent with friends, family and fellow petrol heads to join me in celebrating a vision which was brought to
reality.
The Cape Town Run which travels through the mountainous Tunnel and smooth tarmac is becoming popular with fans all over the
country. The last one which is covered in these pages pulled together over 200 BMW cars for the Sunday morning drive to Worcester.
We then head to KZN and The Supertech Dealership where we introduced the magazine to some fans from the Durban area. The
management and team at Supertech pulled out all the stops to host us and give the guests a joyful and cheerful evening.
The December festive time saw us hooking up in Cape Town a night after New Year's eve for a fun SABeemer run and this turned to
be quite spectacular. It's something that we will do every year from now on. Cape Town still remains THE place to be in December.
Our nal 'Magazine Launch' stop in this issue is the Sandton Auto Dealership where we had the rst of the Gauteng events. This was
done as an open day on a Saturday rather than an evening/guest invite affair, and it worked out really well. The classic Beemers up in
Gauteng are just mesmerizingly beautiful. And the showroom looked glorious lled with these jewels of motoring. See all the pics inside
this issue.

Our last highlight was the JHB BMW Run the day after the evnt held at Sandton Auto, and while not as many cars pitched up as Cape
Town, a fun time was still had.
TuneTech once again provides us with some health tips as these common technical issues rise. Enjoy this issue….

BMW E30 325i Shadowline and 325is Evo II GroupN Track Cars

The E30 could possibly be the most popular BMW of all time. The compact size, coupled with a rear wheel drive chassis, and a 6 cylinder
motor gave drivers a delightful package to have fun with.
Many of the fans around South Africa, or around the world in fact, can relate to an E30 sometime in their lives. Some fans were born long after
this car made production yet they have a yearning to have one parked in their driveway.
Many different cultures amongst South Africa would remember the E30 for a different reason, but here we focus on some of the on-track
history that these cars were a part of.
The track years were a fundamental part of BMW’s constant drive to give their road cars the joyful character that the mere public who buy
their cars could enjoy.
The cars you see here are housed inside JSN Motors in Bryanston.
Story is written by Bruce Cerpnich of Evolution2 Motorsport.
Years Raced: 1986 - 1993
Built and prepared by: the JSN Motor Staff, led by Alex Ceprnich (Technical)
and Peter-Kaye-Eddie (Team Management)
Driver: Robbi Smith
Restored by: Evolution 2 Motorsport

The BMW Dealer who set the benchmark on the road and track: As the saying goes, 'motorsport improves the breed'.

Usually this statement is linked to manufacturers involvement in certain forms of motor racing, lessons learnt here would be implemented
into the production line ensuring all road forms provide customer satisfaction.

In retrospect similar circumstances were enforced in local Johannesburg BMW Dealer JSN Motors. The situation may have been a little
different as they never had any say in the cars they received from Rosslyn, however they did have an inuence on the AC Schnitzer
perfected Beemers that they had on offer as extra tuning bits and that were fettled in the workshop. JSN Motors was one of the very few
dealers to take to the circuits with an in-house racing program, that's right, once the daily sales and service duties were completed come
ive in the afternoon, attention was turned to the racer that would sit in one of the corner bays during the day.

Led by Service Manager Alec Ceprnich, who was also responsible for attending to relations with the AC Schnitzer tuning division as well,
the JSN Motors team, made-up by staff members who offered their assistance without overtime pay, took on the full factory efforts of
BMW SA led by the late Tony Viana, who performed both preparation and driving duties within the factory crew. Also in the mix during this
period of Group N racing was the mighty Opel Motorsport team who were led by Port Elizabeth's hallowed son Mike Briggs.Viana and
Briggs developed quite a erce rivalry, while JSN Motors pilot Robbi Smith would always be in the mix and ready to cause an upset. And
with a dedicated crew who wanted nothing more than to beat the more established factory teams he did.

“I look back on this period as some of my most memorable times in racing,” explains Alec Ceprnich. “The JSN team was made up with
mechanics who attended to the daily servicing of cars, Robbi performed all driving duties, while Peter Kaye Eddie handled all managerial
aspects of the team and ensured sponsors were kept happy, the team were kitted out on race days and travel arrangements for away
events. There was terric atmosphere in the team, we all worked for one another and strove to provide Robbi with the best car we could
muster from the resources we had, while 'Smurf' drove his heart out and made us all very proud”.

A certain chemistry developed amongst all staff members within the JSN crew, that same attitude of working together and putting
forward the best from what they had contributed to the business becoming a top dealer in South Africa. A key part of this program was
dealer principal, the sadly deceased John Stavros, who put the plan into action and provided the money for his guys to go racing. A stern
businessman who accepted nothing but the best, Stavros fully backed the JSN racing division, a tribute many would take their hats off to,
however at race weekends he would stand to one side and watch the team at work, never interfering unless if asked to help. Obviously
come the Monday after the race Stavros would want feedback from the weekend's events, if things went well, he would be satised, if
they didn't, he wanted solutions.

The JSN Motors racing program was no y by night operation,
the dealer was involved in South African motorsport for many
of years. Stand out seasons were 1987 and 1993, with success
being reaped with the E30 3 series model. In 1987 Robbi,
driving an E30 325i Shadowline, won the Stannic Group N
Class inland championship, while in 1993 the team went onto
defeat all odds and win the overall Stannic Group N title, and
in the same year conquer the Castrol 9 hour event that took
place at Killarney.
“We had many great years with the JSN Motors guys, I still hold
every team member dear in my heart and consider them as
all good friends,” mentions Robbi Smith. “Alec and Peter led
the team very well, John Stavros supported us all the way,
nally in 1993 in all came together in a season where we
broke many lap records

on circuits around the country and I managed to win my sixth Castrol endurance event, the most for any South African driver. That year the
Firestone/ Firehawk supported JSN Motors run BMW 325is Evo II was simply the class of the eld and the best race car I have ever driven, I simply
loved that car”.
A rare occasion took place when BMW SA allowed the JSN Motors team keep the 1987 and 1993 BMW's,
Over the years to follow similar circumstances would take place to that of the last remaining Viana cars. The two JSN cars would move to
different locations as the dealer seeked new premises, from Johannesburg CBD, to Sandgate and now nally Bryanston. However as service
volumes increased the cars were no longer able to take up space in the workshops and were forced outside into the staff parking.
Here the two legends were left to fend off many weather circumstances, the 325is still appeared at track events, however it became
apparent that work was needed on the car as stickers were beginning to peel off, general race preparation was required and engine,
gearbox and differential components needed some overhauling.
After all the it had, in 1993, competed and won in a 9 hour endurance event, other than having the odd wash here and there, the car never
received much mechanical attention.

Naturally there was only one avenue that new dealer principal Starvos Neiphotu, John Stavros' son, decided would be the best for his two
racers. Evolution 2 Motorsport received the somewhat sorry looking shadowline and 325iS Evo II, the two E30's being reunited with their
developer Alec Ceprnich and racer Robbi Smith who was keen to be involved with the restoration process. Both Smith and Ceprnich were
given the rights to look after and keep the cars, while also attending select race events to show off the two legends. It must be pointed out
that many of the racers from this era of Group N racing are sadly non-existent, other than the original Wineld Viana 325i shadowline, restored
and kept by Evolution 2 Motorsport, the two JSN examples are the only other cars still remaining [Editor: the 325iS Evo II was featured in Car
Magazine's December issue 2013 Performance Shootout].

The 'A11' 325i Shadowline required a lot of work, the only way to restore it back to its best was to conduct a full re-build. Seeing that the car was
intended to compete in historic events it was tted with a roll cage to increase safety and rigidity of the chassis. The 325iS needed work done on
the motor, the gearbox and diff required servicing, while the cosmetics of the car needed a complete do over.

A couple of months down the line and the cars were again in tip top condition, just in time for a Top Car magazine shoot that paid tribute to
BMW's racing activities in South Africa. Sadly for Ceprnich and Smith they were asked to part with the two cars as JSN Motors management
wished for the two to be displayed in their AC Schnitzer showrooms at their Bryanston buildings.

“It was heart breaking to have to take both cars back to Bryanston, I really enjoyed having them in my workshop and working on them again,”
describes Ceprnich. “Once fully restored they both looked magnicent, and perhaps in some ways it is only right that they are displayed in a
showroom were people can see and appreciate them. One of Robbi's and my greatest wishes is that they never land in the wrong hands, and
that they are looked after, both are great tributes to Robbi's terric racing career and my involvement in the sport. The Shadowline and 325iS Evo
II, the car which incidentally provided me with the idea to name my business as Evolution 2 Motorsport, will always have a close place in my
heart, who knows one day my wishes may be answered and I will be reunited with them again”.

Both the BMW 325i Shadowline and BMW 325iS Evo II that ran in JSN Motors colors hold many memories and created friendships that everyone
who was involved with will cherish for the rest of their lives. Sadly some of the team members like John Stavros, Renato Amaro and Stuart Macke
have passed on, however their contributions to the crew will always be remembered and never forgotten

Evolution 2 Motorsport would like to pay tribute to the JSN Motors Racing Team: 7.

But just like the previous events, the cars didn't turn
down a notch of heat at all. It seems they get hotter
as the years go on.

NAS Concepts was once again in full force as their row
of ne BMW cars graced the entrance passage.

BMW Fanatics also showed massive support with them
taking up a quarter of our allocated space on the
rooftop oor. It was fantastic.

This time saw an increase in beautiful classics
attending the event, and there was no shortage of the
latest models of the Bavarian Motor Works stable.
Where we do seem to be lacking in terms of vehicles
partaking - is the X and 7 series models. This will
hopefully change in the years to come.

The day was well attended overall and it was denitely
a feast for BM lovers from all the different sects of the
vast car scene in South Africa.
Its a day where stock standard classics stand next to

harmony and the spirit of enjoyment.

BMWSA CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF BMW AT FRANSCHHOEK MOTOR MUSEUM

I’ve been to this museum a good few times now, but it seems to get more beautiful each time i visit.

What brought me here this time around, was the news of some classic BMWs being displayed in one of the 4 barns. The owner
of the museum, who also owns the 220 vehicles (of which 80 get displayed at a time) doesn’t have much BMWs in his
collection. He owns a 1938 328 roadster, and Nelson Mandela’s 46664 charity 750i L. The cars displayed here were brought in
by BMW SA to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the BMW automobile.

These Beemers are owned and kept in good nick by particular enthusiasts, and we are grateful for them as these special cars
stand beaming in the corridor to be appreciated by us humble fans of this brand.

In 1994, South Africa had 2 of the biggest things to grace its land.

One highlight was the rst ever 'free-for-all' democratic elections
that would allow every South African (being previously disadvantaged), a chance to vote in this country’s
rst Black President.

The second highlight was that the M3 product, which at the time - was at it’s 2nd generation, would nally be on sale to the general South
African public from the BMW Groups rapidly growing and innovative class-leading ///M Division.

The 1st M3 in E30 form wasn't produced in RHD - therefore never offered in South Africa, so the E36 M3 was our rst taste of this most successful
sports sedan label.

ThSeaEm36pMle3 ocuetrtpauintlytosttaeysetdPtDruFe tCoothmebsipnoertoy nclryedentials it had to live up to. It was a revolutionary change from the 4cyl E30 M3.

Thankfully we were quite used to the straight six motor from the outgoing 325iS that the E36 M3 replaced here in South Africa.

BMW M showed the world with this car in 1994 that it was at the forefront of the super compact sedan/coupe battle

It could go head against sports cars which cost more than double the R210,000.00 launch price.
Driving the E36 M3 reminded me more of driving an E30 333i, rather than an upgrade of the smoother 325iS. The process of clutch, gear change
and throttle control had to be sharpened up to get a smooth drive out of the torque-y drivetrain.

But once all this comes into sync, the result is completely rewarding.

Introducing the ///M3 Owners Squad Cape Town

At the BeemerFest held in Cape Town a few months ago I met with Armien Davids who gave me an introduction to their club -the M3 Owners
Squad Cape Town.
A fairly new club which had just started , and already boasting a group of about 16 E36 M3 cars in the Cape Town area. Armien gives us a small
brieng on the club :
"The club was started April 2016. A fairly new club with big visions. Belonging to different forums I realised that non M3 drivers did not share the
same technical knowledge as M3 drivers and there was a denite need to nd like-minded people to share trade secrets with. The problem
though was that i couldn't nd a club of this nature in the greater Cape Town area. This saw the birth of this club.
A Facebook page was created and within 2 months it grew to over 5000 followers.
Through this medium we were able to network and attract other owners.
Social media was a strong marketing tool and we now also have an Instagram account (M3 Owners) as well as a Twitter account (M3 Owners
Squad CT) and you can even hit us up at [email protected]."

24.

Sample output to test PDF Combine only

We asked Armien as founder of the club to
tell us a bit about himself :

“A devoted husband and father of 4. My
career started in retail and that's where I
remained even though I hold my honours in a
completely different eld from the University
of Cape Town. I've always been an active
sportsman ranging from several years of
surng to playing winger for Schotcheskloof
Walmers Rugby Club to being a qualied
referee for WP Rugby."

He currently drives the 4 door version of the
E36 M3 which was launched a few years
later than the coupe, and was upgraded
with the 3.2l motor compared to the 3.0l
which the coupe version was released with.

Armien had 3 E36 318i before purchasing this Dakar Yellow M3.

Armien tells us why he chose BMW as his preferred automobile :

"My passion for BMW started in my teens watching videos of the legendary Achmat 'Oeg' in action and being the rst to drive in his E30 with a 535i
motor (I can still feel my insides being relocated, thinking back at that experience), - to cruising on a Sunday with my friends in a smoking old 535i
in Sea Point - all our pocket money went into the fuel tank, to my brother owning his rst E36 323i and taking me for donut spins. Most importantly I
was in an accident in my rst E36 and even though the car was a write off, I walked away unscathed. At that point I knew the BMW was the best
option for my family.

The best feature of my, or any other popular BMW, has to be the lines, character and sound of the M3 E36 as well as the 325is. Most importantly
the safety features is a huge draw card for me.

My car is completely factory standard as I believe stock is the way to remain for these classics, less is denitely more in this case.
I have this M3 for about a year now and I would only sell if I were held ransom by aliens.

My next BMW would denitely have to be a 325is in Henna Red (and don't forget it needs to be stock)."

Getting back to the Club, the members are from different corners of the Cape Town region from Tableview to Wynberg to the Northern Suburbs.

....Introducing the ///M3 Owners Squad Cape Town

We asked some of the club members individually what they thought of the E36 M3 as a car that is now over 20 years old.

“The power of car and its a N/A motor in that year and is still on Besides it being a collectors and BMW enthusiast dream car, it’s a solid

FRANCOIS : SALEEM :
“It still has value and is very popular. It is still a 13 sec car on the

It was a heartfelt eye-opener to the reality that there are those struggling all over, and even with a tiny bit of support – a big difference can be
made. We need to do more of these initiatives around the country, and we hope you can support us in achieving this goal.

A special thanks to Beryldine Anders for all the liaising and logistics leading up to this day.

Maintaining an ///M Car

“It is really distressing that life has so many up and downs. I would dream of a life that goes up always. But real
life is different.”

This statement truly sums up the grand relationship you will have with an ///M car. One would dream of a life
where there are only ups with it. The ‘M’ cars are described as exhilarating, iconic, jack of all trades; track and
street “ultimate driving machines” and they truly are but, and yes there is a but, one has to be realistic when
purchasing or maintaining one for, lets say, a lifetime of joy.

Nothing kills your passion like a six digit bill for an engine replacement or rebuild.

There are a few things you would need to do to keep the passion alive.

No matter what, service your vehicle annually, whether you make the mileage in a year or not....there would be
a small list – take heed of the following :

Engine

Ÿ Big end bearings - drop the sump and do a set
before you get to 90 or 100KM. Time wise
possibly every 5 or 6 years. See picture

Ÿ Have the electronic oil level sensor changed,
it’s electronic and not knowing how much oil is
in that engine is plainly asking for trouble.
Models 2006 upwards.

Ÿ The vanos pipe – special steel pipe V10’s

Ÿ Don’t ignore faults, prevention is better than
cure, Engine lights etc

Ÿ eg M3 E46 – First time walk-in client so there
was no warning him, possibly the worst I have
ever seen, He ran a bearing and his engine
could not be saved.

eg M5 V10 – The car came in for a service –
We saw metal llings in the oil cap and advised the client to do Bearings
immediately to save the engine, fortunately the crank was ne.

Gearbox

Ÿ Refresh gearbox oil every 40000KM

Diff

Ÿ Refresh diff oil every 40000Km

Ÿ FM booster additive for noisy diffs – developed
and sold at BMW

Cape Town.

We arranged some lovely examples of old and modern classic BMW cars for this launch - which are not usually displayed on
their showroom oor, and invited guests and enthusiats from all over Cape Town to join us on this Friday evening.

The spirited staff and management of Auric Auto welcomed this gesture with open arms and excitement. These stunning

Special thanks has to be mentioned for Adriano (Dealer Principle of Auric Auto), and his excellent team - Jacqui Chelin, Reiny

CAPE TUNNEL RUN
2016

S4a2m.ple output to test PDF Combine only

Time really does y these days. It feels like not so long ago that myself and Naiem,
were sitting at a table, at one of our friends' wedding, discussing the idea of an
epic BMW Run' (a convoy drive to somewhere) for our loyal followers in the Cape
area. This was over 3 years ago.

The result from this vague idea has become very overwhelming. The concept for
this run is simple.- Invite as many BMW Owners with their cars to a certain meeting
point. Then drive together in convoy through the Huguenot Tunnel towards
Worcester.

The 3.9km tunnel in itself is a highlighting experience for drivers and their
passengers.

This year, it was a bit different, well for me at least.
Since we only do this Run in cape town once a year, it coincided with the
weekend of our rst Printed Magazine launch. The launch was done on the Friday
night of the same weekend. See launch details here ........

The hype for this run started earlier than Friday when Matthew James and Reiny
Salie of Auric Auto arranged to have 3 of their E82 1M cars - with branding - as
'SABeemer Pace Cars' especially for the Sunday.

#TeamAuricAuto were in full force with 8 of their cars joining the 43.
convoy.
Like the two previous runs (2014 & 2015) there was an earlier
meeting point at Auto Atlantic BMW Dealer in the Cape Town
CBD arranged by Grant and the BMW Car Club of Cape Town.
This year another meeting point was arranged at Auric Auto in
Claremont for their staff as well as clients who were invited to join
us on this Run.

CAPE TUNNEL RUN 2016

Now another reason why this year was a bit different for me, is because I was
given an E12 535i M to use for the day by a buddy of mine.

For the rst Tunnel Run in 2014, I used my E36 320i which ran like clockwork without
any effort. Last year I was given a 2door E30, which was a bit slower than
clockwork, but ran the 240km distance without any fault. So the thought of being
behind an M30 straight six on the long straight of the N1 highway as well as the
windy smooth tarmac just after the tunnel was quite an appealing thought.

We didn't meet any of the guys in the CBD nor Claremont but went straight to the
big meeting point at the Engen N1 Winelands.

The E12 took 4 of us, with a bakkie full of koeksisters... as well as a boot full of 2
foldup tables, 60 trophies, 3boxes of magazines and 3 bags of camera equipment
& extra clothing in great comfort.
We even had enough space on the route back at the the end of the day to add
one more person on the comfy back seat - someone who got up late and we had
to leave behind in the morning. :(

The E12 535i sat brilliantly on the road. It really is one of those legendary BMW cars.
In the wrong hands it could be easily abused and destroyed. But thanks to
Faheems' strict and careful touch on this car over the years. It has been kept n a
condition that is able to do our 300km round trip with great ease. Although it
needed about 500 bucks of fuel to do so. But well worth it in the hearts of us
petrolheads.

When we arrived at the Engen 1stop, we had a good few cars already waiting.

Ladies and gents were sipping on coffee and light snacks from the bustling Engens’ convenience store. A thanks has to be mentioned to Mr Rudy
Van Zyl , Manager of the Winelands Engen 1stop for handling this crowd that was anxious to get back on the road while more Beemers continued
to arrive for the next half an hour .

Some guy was spinning again showing off his RWD skill but a public garage is not a place for this. The management of the Engen was very
concerned about the safety of children as well as other serivce users. And understandably so.

With the truck stop parking area completely jammed we then signalled the convoy to take- off with a count of 207 Beemers exiting the 1stop.
After waiting for about 6min for all the cars to exit, we got back into the 535i and tried to catch up with the pack - but the front runners of 1Ms,
M4ss, M6s, M3s, left everyone far behind as they enjoyed the open road in true MPower style.

Everyone was keen to share stories of their drive
from the garage - through the glorious sounds of
the tunnel and into Worcester.

The Wheel Merchant all the way from KZN had a
small show n shine competition while the
competitors went into the mall to have some
lunch.

Prize giving was done at around 3:30pm.

What a wonderful wonderful day.

Thanks to everyone that joined i

Yusuf Moolla, The Customer Relations & Marketing manager for the
Supertech Group, tells a brief history of this impressive and over-
achieving organisation

The BMW Supertech Group has positioned itself as a world class dealership Group, setting the benchmark in providing exceptional service and a memorable customer
experience.

Under Chairman of the Supertech Group Shabir Tayob, Managing Director M Ubaid Tayob, Operations Director Farida Tayob and Financial Director Mahomed Sader,
management and staff have taken on the Group's mission of ensuring the 'people rst' ethos is strictly adhered to and BMWs reputation for luxury is incorporated into
every aspect of the customer experience.

Looking forward to continually winning hearts of customers at all Supertech dealerships, Mr Tayob is justiably proud of what he and his staff have accomplished.
“It's not only the building, cars and the showroom assets, it's the people and staff who matter here,” he said while explaining why he feels the dealership is growing in
leaps and bounds.

“We believe our employees are our greatest asset and our customers are people, not just numbers. We believe every customer needs to be treated like Royalty, and
our staff are essential in accomplishing this.”

From the Group's humble beginning as a single branch situated in South Coast Road, Durban, to moving to its new state of the art dealership on Edwin Swales and
then expanding to include dealerships in Pinetown and Newcastle in just over a year, the Supertech Group has set the bar high when it comes to service excellence
and the all-important human touch, which is what drives this luxury vehicle brand's wide appeal.
The award winning Supertech Durban dealership is an icon of Durban. Newly opened in January 2013, this state of the art dealership is situated on the corner of
Solomon Mahlangu (Edwin Swales) Drive and Bellair Road.

With a keen eye on expansion, the Supertech Group acquired the Newcastle BMW dealership in April 2015, offering a world class service to the Newcastle and
surrounding communities as well as being a strategic midway point for motorists travelling between Durban and Johannesburg.
Supertech Pinetown is the new addition to the Group, through its acquisition in March 2016.

Mr Tayob said it was important to keep the best individuals and ensure growth.
“I have managed to bring the best people in while keeping the familiar faces and people who have been part of this organization for so long,”
He said that when Supertech took over the dealership, the majority of the previous staff remained and have become part of the Supertech family. There is an
extremely experienced management team in place with decades of accumulative years under the belt, who can assess with every aspect of sales and aftersales.
“In Pinetown, we have Dave Warren and Deanne Ballington who are BMW legends with over 50 years of accumulated experience.”

The Supertech Group is constructing a new, modern day-world class facility on Kirk Road, Pinetown setting the benchmark for future dealership design.
Mr Tayob said that Supertech dealerships are vastly different to other dealerships. Salesmen do not approach customers as they enter, they are instead greeted by
warm hostesses and then the BMW Genius.

He said customers relax in executive lounges, sip on gourmet coffees and customise their own BMW on a big screen.
The emphasis on customer service is apparent each time a customer arrives at the dealership.

The state of the art Service Departments at the three dealerships can provide a service booking within 48 hours and also provides a 24 hour tow-in service for break-
downs. Supertech also boasts top class Approved Repair Centre's in Durban and Newcastle.
Speaking of his love for the brand, Mr Tayob said he always had a deep rooted passion for BMW.
“When the opportunity presented itself to actually own a BMW dealership, I jump at the chance to full a lifelong dream.”
He said his rst car was a BMW and since then, he was hooked on the brand.
“I love the intricate and perfect mixture of performance and luxury, which in my opinion, no other brand can match. I also have a particular love for M cars. A BMW
makes you feel young, no matter what age you are.”
He added that his management team and staff are committed to the brand, and all share a passion for everything BMW. This passion is expressed on a daily basis,
evident in the unwavering dedication to customers.
Speaking proudly of the Group's accolades, Supertech Durban was recently Awarded the Daily News Readers Choice Awards as the number one dealership in
KwaZulu-Natal for sales, and the second best dealership for pre-owned cars.
Supertech received several prestigious awards for 2015 in the annual BMW SA awards evening.
Awards included Supertech's newly appointed Managing Director Ubaid Tayob as the number one sales manager in the country, as well as three of the top ve
salesmen in the country coming from Supertech Durban.
The dealership is well positioned to establish and reinforce the BMW brand in the league of luxury where it belongs.
At all three dealerships, the teams are constantly focusing on putting customers rst with a luxury and memorable experience each and every visit.

Mr Tayob said the delivery of a new vehicle is a celebration at Supertech.
“People have spent a lot of money on a car they really desire, so when they come in to pick it up, we celebrate that occasion with them. It needs to be a moment for
them to remember.”

Mr Tayob said they are working on rolling out a special concept of aftersales service that included Concierge Services as a pilot project for seven series customers.
Previously such a service was only available abroad with luxury Italian Supercar brands like Ferrari.

“We will be offering it rst in this country, no one is doing anything like it in this segment.”.
“Imagine a special service which arranges everything from booking services to arranging special reserved parking and ensuring a personal greeting when coming in
to the dealership. Other services include couriering tickets to launch events, as well as sending personalized gifts for anniversaries and birthdays, making a customer
feel like royalty. This is the service we are going to be giving as part of the Concierge offering.” With all these innovations and the benet of teams made up of people
who have decades of experience in all aspects of vehicle sales, nance and after sales service at each branch, the Supertech Group is clearly prioritizing their
customers in their future plans.

The Group is committed to investing in social projects that make a difference to the livelihood and well-being of the community as evidenced by its impressive BBBEE

Level 2 accreditation and Supertech Durban is the only dealership from all motor brands in the continent that has a 4 Star Green Building Council of South Africa

rating. The 4 Star award is based on ensuring several strict environmental measures including waste disposal, water recycling, and sensor lighting among others.
