SPEAKERS D’Angelique Dopson, Director Total Rewards Human Resources, Shionogi Ms. Dopson joined Shionogi Inc. in March of 2024 as the Director of Total Rewards. Prior to this role, she worked at The Medicines Company for almost 14 years, until its acquisition by Novartis in 2020. In addition to her pharma industry experience, Ms. Dopson previously worked at Cendant Travel Distribution Services and Toys ‘R’ Us corporate. Ms. Dopson has spent 22 years in Human Resources, focusing on compensation, plan design and execution, benefits strategy, rewards and recognition, HRIS, organizational design and M&A projects, including post-merger integration. Lynne Anderson, J.D., Partner, Faegre Drinker Ms. Anderson is an experienced trial lawyer and strategic counselor with a long history of working with life sciences clients on all aspects of the employment relationship. She leads the firm’s Pay Equity Team and co-leads its Affirmative Action Task Force. Ms. Anderson has received multiple recognitions, including by Chambers USA as a “Leading Lawyer for Business”. She is a member of Faegre Drinker’s Health & Life Sciences Industry Team and Co-Chaired the firm’s ERG, Women Forward, from 2011 to 2023. Clients refer to Ms. Anderson as someone who “balances a seasoned understanding of the law with the practicalities of running complex businesses”. Andrew Dickson, Principal, Mercer Mr. Dickson is a highly accomplished professional with a wealth of experience in HR consulting, recruitment and general HR practices. Coming from a general HR background in sub-Saharan Africa, he has a deep understanding of the life sciences industry and understands the larger trends at play. Mr. Dickson started his career in benefits consulting before transitioning to compensation and reward consulting. Thereafter, he joined a staffing company. Mr. Dickson then transitioned back to consulting, joining the Hay Group and overseeing surveys in six sub-Saharan countries. Finally, he moved to the U.S. in 2016 and joined Mercer. Brenda Burner, Director, Global Compensation, Merck & Co. Ms. Burner’s HR career started in recruiting, leading Merck’s Future Talent Program recruiting interns and college graduates. She then moved into HR operations taking on increasing responsibilities, including overseeing the Restructuring Center of Excellence, supporting the acquisition of Schering-Plough and managing key Global HR Programs. In her role as a Program Manager, Ms. Burner led year-end compensation planning and served as the Compensation workstream lead for implementing a new HRIS platform. She later joined the Compensation COE, initially focusing on Executive Compensation before expanding to become a Global Compensation Lead for the Global Support Functions and managing the compensation data and analytics team. Christopher Cozic, Executive Vice President & Chief People Officer, Genmab Mr. Cozic joined Genmab as Global Vice President of Human Resources in November 2017. He is a global human resources professional with expertise in strategic leadership, organization design, human resource management, policy development, employee relations, organizational development and a heavy concentration in all aspects of corporate growth and expansion. Prior to joining Genmab, Mr. Cozic was Vice President of Human Resources at Ipsen. Previously, he spent over eight years at Eisai, where he served as Director, Global Human Resources, after joining the company in 2006. During his career, Mr. Cozic held roles of progressive responsibility across the consulting and telecommunications industries.


Debbie Hart, President & CEO, BioNJ Ms. Hart worked alongside New Jersey’s biopharmaceutical industry leaders to establish BioNJ in 1994. Dawn Kessler, Director, Site HR Lead US, Genmab Ms. Kessler is an accomplished HR professional with over 24 years of experience, currently leading as the Director of U.S. HR Site at Genmab, where she oversees U.S. talent acquisition and HR Operations. Her role is pivotal in operationalizing HR functions, ensuring compliance with local employment regulations, and spearheading key projects. Previously, Ms. Kessler held various operational HR Leadership roles at GSK and a Senior HR Leadership role with Amazon Fulfillment. Sally Paull, Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resource Officer, Regeneron Ms. Paull joined Regeneron in 2016. Previously, she was with Inova Health System, where she built and led HR programs as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Prior to that, Ms. Paull served as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Forest Laboratories, a mid-size pharmaceutical company, where she led the global HR function. Earlier in her career, Ms. Paull served in progressively senior HR roles at Dentsply International, a global leader in the development and commercialization of professional dental products. Betty Rivera-Manning, Rewards Business Partner/US P&O Policy Lead, Novartis Ms. Rivera-Manning has over 25 years’ experience in Human Resources and has been with Novartis Pharmaceuticals for the past 15 years. In addition to her role as a Rewards Business Partner at Novartis, she is also the U.S. Human Resources Policy lead. In her role as Policy Lead, Ms. Rivera-Manning leads a team that helps streamline, harmonize and socialize changes to policies, programs and practices that support P&O initiatives.
