2023 Annual Dinner Meeting & Innovation Celebration Program Book

2023 ADM Program Book

www.BioNJ.org

Welcome to BioNJ’s 30th Annual Dinner Meeting and Innovation Celebration honoring the extraordinary medical innovation coming from New Jersey and the Patients who are benefitting from them. Because Patients Can’t Wait®, tonight’s program is dedicated to the Patients, innovators, advocates, policymakers and service providers who are working together to bring new therapies and cures to those around the world in need. The Garden State remains a leading innovation powerhouse – with nearly 50% of all new FDA approvals in 2022 coming from companies with a footprint in New Jersey. And, tonight we are proud to present those New Jersey companies with a BioNJ Innovator Award. Similarly, we are pleased to present the Heart of BioNJ Award to Maria Kafalas, Founder of The Calliope Joy Foundation, who will share her family’s incredible journey with us this evening. We are delighted to once again have the dear Dr. Sol J. Barer with us to present the 15th Annual Dr. Sol J. Barer Award for Vision, Innovation and Leadership to Dr. David Perlin, Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice President for the Hackensack Meridian Center for Discovery and Innovation. Well recognized for his innovative and entrepreneurial leadership in biomedical sciences, Dr. Perlin is an accomplished researcher and visionary in the development of novel therapies to detect, combat and prevent deadly infections. Please enjoy tonight’s festivities as we mark another year of success for the New Jersey ecosystem and the 30th year of BioNJ. As always at BioNJ, we have many people to thank for their generosity, dedication and contributions to making this meeting possible. We are indebted to our dedicated Board of Trustees, our creative Annual Dinner Meeting Committee chaired by Dr. Andrew Latham of Merck & Co. and Marisol Mendez Peron of Genmab, our generous Sponsors, New Jersey’s vibrant life sciences ecosystem and our talented BioNJ Team. Thank you one and all for being here. Because Patients Can’t Wait®, Will H.
