Sewing Machine

Pryscilla And Cole.

The earliest patent for a sewing machine was in 1790 by Thomas Saint
in England, however it was used exclusively for leatherwork. The first
patent for a traditional fabric sewing machine was issued to
Bartheleémy Thimmonier in France, but this was also unlike the
modern sewing machine. American Elias Howe was the inventor of
the modern sewing machine in 1834 although he was never issued a
patent.
