❖ Of the five you wrote about, are you pursuing
any? Would you like to? What do you need to

Get curious, ask questions and listen.
Afterwards, write anything new, surprising or
important that you learned about your partner
and their visions, passions and pursuits.

Values

Choose 6-10 values that speak highest to you now
(see the values list). These values are like a
compass, pointing you in the direction of your
deeper truth and how you show up for yourself and
in this relationship. Your values can change over
time, as you grow, shift, and adapt…

Values

Co-create the guiding values of your relationship.
Choose 6-10 values together (either from your
combined values or others from the list). Refer to
these values often as navigation in calm, stormy or
foggy seas…

If you and your partner both choose
courtesy as a top ten relationship value,
you can navigate in stormy or foggy seas by
choosing to steer toward courtesy or
courteous actions. A real-world example
might be:

You and your loved one are both stressed
from a hectic work day and you feel
agitated inside. Since you both value
courtesy, simple politeness in your
interactions can offer relaxation and
connection. Courtesy might also look like
verbalizing that you are stressed and taking
care of yourself. Being courteous is
considerate. You choose to steer toward
courtesy as opposed to becoming short and
irritated with your loved one.
