PEC 6 Game Day Rules

PEC 6 Game Day Rules

PEC-6 Conference Rules For Games

1) Must arrive at least 45 minutes prior to tip-off.
A) Game will count as forfeit if team is not on the court and properly
equipped at scheduled game time.
B) Though forfeit is awarded, game may still be played once late team
arrives, however time will be adjusted to a running clock game and time
allotted will be based on game ending 15 minutes prior to the next
scheduled contest. This will ensure the event schedule is kept on time.
C) Rationale is:
I) Gym time is limited and costly.
II) Officials are on a schedule and may have to leave. Because we
have negotiated such an inexpensive rate with officials, we need to
be very respectful of their time.
III) College coaches many times are on a schedule and may have to
leave. If they take time to come to our conference games, we need
to be very respectful of their time and keep them wanting to come
back.
IV) Other staff working the event are on a schedule and may have to
leave. We must be respectful of their time as well.

2) We will follow NFHS rules because many officials really do not know college
rules. In order to ensure fairness and equity, easier to follow NFHS rules.

3) Exceptions to NFHS rules:
A) Warmup is 10 minutes prior to official game start time
B) 6 personal fouls per player
C) 30 second shot clock
D) 2 – 20 minute halves
E) Halftime is 5 minutes.
F) Running clock at any point game is over 40 point lead
G) Must be outside the lane circle in order to be awarded a charge
H) Overtime.
I) Overtime periods are 5 minutes RUNNING TIME.
II) Helps keep us on schedule & eliminates arguments about whether
the clock started and stopped on time.
III) Unused timeouts carry over into overtime.
IV) Each overtime both teams are awarded 2 additional time outs.
I) A technical equals 3 personal player fouls.
J) A coach technical foul equals 1 player disqualification. A 2nd coach
technical equals immediate game termination and forfeiture.

4) Note all uniforms must be properly numbered. If players have duplicate numbers
it will be an automatic technical foul. NO EXPCEPTIONS!

5) Rosters on Weekend 1 MUST REMAIN THE SAME throughout the remainder of
all future PEC 6 Conference Weekends during that season. Even if players are not
present during Weekend 1, list their full name and jersey number in the official
scorebook.
