Official sources said that acquiring of land appears to be an
uphill task for the smooth implementation of the project.
Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is
working as nodal agency for the expressway. An official on
condition of anonymity informed that a huge chunk of land of
around 8,000 hectares for an 8-lane expressway would be
acquired. However if more land is acquired at this time, a high
speed train project can also be implemented in future, he said.

Whether the state will build this high-speed rail corridor or
independently is yet to be decided. To take the things further
the central government has approached Spain to help them
work on the feasibility of high speed corridor from Nagpur to
Mumbai.
Maharashtra Government is contemplating an action plan to
chug out a train which can run with an amazing speed of over
200 km per hour. The execution may be done along the
proposed Rs 30,000 crore Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway.
Whether the state will build this high-speed rail corridor or
partner with railways or let the railways work on the project
independently is yet to be decided. To take the things further
the central government has approached Spain to help them
work on the feasibility of high speed corridor from Nagpur to
Mumbai.
