Program Spotlight Seacrest Studios at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Through a partnership with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer is one of only 14 pediatric hospitals in the U.S. – and the only one in Florida – to host an innovative Seacrest Studios location. Our studio provides patients with an interactive space to explore radio, television and social media, share their on-air talents and participate in entertaining programs broadcast directly to patient rooms. The Seacrest Studio makes it possible for children and teens to learn everything they need to produce, star and interact in their very own TV and radio programming during their hospital stay. Complete with lights, sets, cameras and audio gear, the studio allows young people to share the spotlight with other patients, celebrity guests and staff. Seacrest Studios at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer even encourages patients who may be confined to their rooms to call in to play along, interview celebrities and engage in many of its live shows. Kids can interact virtually to request songs, play games and win prizes! • In 2023, the Seacrest studio hosted over 65 community organizations, featuring 25 local and national celebrities. • College interns are now an integral part of programming operations, learning pro-grade media equipment to create shows for patients, with 11 interns participating in 2023. • The channel runs live and prerecorded programming 24/7, producing more than 300 hours of live programming in 2023, including 700 live programs ranging from entertainment, gaming, music, sports, weather, arts and crafts, reading, math and science. • With an average of 14 new shows per week, Bingo is the most popular show. • The studio has brought joy to more than 750 patients who’ve participated either by calling in, visiting in person, or hosting one of our live shows. • TV and Radio Personality Ryan Seacrest visited our studio in May 2023, hosting a live show where patients interviewed him and played a fun game. • The studio celebrated its third birthday in December with a jam-packed day of live shows, special treats, fun giveaways and music. Event highlights included a meet-and-greet and games with wrestlers from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). 51

Members tivate Meet Loopie! Orlando Health Arnold Palmer now has a full-time facility dog named Loopie as a member of the team who cares for children and families. Loopie’s handler, Kim Burbage, is a certified child life specialist who brings Loopie to work with her each day to provide support and encouragement for young patients. Facility dogs are highly trained service dogs who are taught over 40 commands. They differ from traditional pet therapy as their work is focused more on specific goal-oriented interventions. Some of Loopie’s goals include providing motivation for movement for kids who need physical or occupational therapy, helping to reduce stress or overstimulation, serving as an emotional support when challenging days present themselves and even visiting other team members to brighten their day.
