An Active Choice for Your Health
Team members have the opportunity during active enrollment to sign up
for a new medical plan. To evaluate which choice will work best for you,
take steps now to prepare for enrollment.
1 Review How You’ve Used Your Medical Plan
Knowing how you used health care previously – whether that was visiting your
primary care provider for an annual exam, a planned procedure or an unexpected
expense – can help you better understand how you might use your medical plan in the new year.
2 Think About How You Might Need
to Use Your Plan Next Year
Once you have a clear picture of your health care needs from the past year,
you can better understand how you may need your plan in the coming year.
It’s important to think about any major health care needs that may arise in the upcoming year,
like becoming pregnant and having a child, for example. And don’t forget about family
members covered on your plan. Be sure to factor in everyone’s health needs – whether
that’s a surgical procedure or continuous therapy.
3 Understand Your Options
There is no default option when it comes to medical coverage.
Every team member will need to carefully review the three new plans
and find the one that is best for them.
The three medical plans are designed to allow you choice and flexibility, to balance your
out-of-pocket expenses with your payroll deductions. One plan costs less when you use it,
through lower copays and deductibles, with a higher payroll deduction. Another plan has
higher copays/deductibles, but costs less out of your paycheck. The third plan is a high-
deductible health plan, with a Health Savings Account that Orlando Health will contribute to.
We’ve developed these new plans based on your feedback. We have simplified the plan
design and replaced the co-insurance on medical services with more predictable copays.
The resources listed on the next page will help you find the balance between payroll
deductions and out-of-pocket costs. Orlando Health contributes the same amount to all
three plans, so the choice is truly yours. We are excited to help each of our team members
find the right plan for their family.
URGENT: ALL Orlando Health Team Members

Pre-Tax vs. Post-Tax Contributions in
Your Orlando Health 403(b) Plan
While there are many ways to save for retirement, there are
two overarching types of contributions: pre-tax and post-tax
contributions. The difference boils down to whether you pay
taxes now as money is moved from your paycheck to your
retirement savings, or if you will pay them when you begin
withdrawing your retirement money.
Beginning in 2020, our plan will now allow post-tax
contributions through our Roth 403(b) option, in addition to the
pre-tax contributions that exist today. More ways to save in the

Educational Assistance
Because We Care About Your Hard
More and more American students are graduating from
college or a specialty school with student-loan debt.
In fact, over 5.6 million of the 40 million Americans
graduating will owe more than $50,000.
We understand that student-loan debt from beginning
your career — or taking steps to further it — can take a
financial and mental toll on you, so we’re proud to be
one of a small number of employers offering student
loan repayment assistance and tuition
reimbursement benefits.
Student Loan Repayment Assistance –
Beginning October, 2019!
Team members with less than five years of service, in a non-leadership
position, are eligible to receive our new student loan
repayment benefit as long as their position requires a
degree (bachelor’s degree or higher, or a registered nurse
hired with a bachelor’s degree).
How does it work? Orlando Health will pay $100 a month
for the first five years of your employment directly to
your loan servicer. And since Orlando Health’s payment
goes straight to principle, it’s taking time off the life of the
loan and saving you even more money in interest. That’s a
lifetime contribution of up to $6,000 toward your student
loans! And don’t worry if you were hired a few years ago.
Current team members and new hires are eligible for this
benefit. If you are within your first five years of service, you may
still have a few years of eligibility.
More information will be coming out this fall on our new
loan repayment program!

Work and Accomplishments
Tuition Reimbursement Enhancements
At Orlando Health, we believe your efforts to continue your education
should be rewarded. That’s why this year we’ve enhanced our tuition-
reimbursement policy to make it more robust than ever before. Now
reimbursing you for up to $5,000 per year, we offer this benefit for
any program with no restrictions on degree pursuit (even if the
degree isn’t required for your job description). This is all to help
you be the best you can be.
These degree programs can include any of the following:
• Professional certificates
(like technical programs or vocational training)
• Associate’s degrees
• Bachelor’s degrees
• Master’s and Doctorate degrees
Certificates that require formalized coursework
through a school would be eligible, including
programs like certified registered nurse
anesthetist (CRNA certification).
Reimbursement does not include professional
development opportunities — such as
nursing or other professional certifications,
conferences, continuing education credits and
skill-based training — which can be paid by
your department with your manager’s approval.
Through our partner at EdAssist, Orlando Health
has access to an expansive list of accredited
schools offering in-person and online programs
– many with tuition discounts and even deferred
payment options!
We’re proud to support you in
your educational achievements
so you can be your best self, and grow
your career at Orlando Health!

Kelley Renier
Assistant Manager, Patient Access
Emergency Department
Orlando Health
Orlando Regional Medical Center
It’s easy to think about why I joined
Orlando Health: I wanted to be a part of
a team committed to providing the best
healthcare regardless of the situation or
patient, and part of an organization that
makes such a difference in our community.
I’ve enjoyed every minute of my 3½ years
here. Bridging the gap between all the
departments involved in emergency care
means that we all work as one to care for
our patients. I’m proud to be part of the
great team that accomplishes this synergy
every day.
Working to be the best version of myself
— and hopefully inspiring other team
members to do the same — I can put my
best foot forward for Orlando Health.
Having a positive impact on a patient’s
hospital experience means that I’m also
making a positive difference in their lives.
That’s powerful!

Scheduling Coordinator

I came to Orlando Health because I felt
led to work with an organization whose
focus was helping those who can’t help
themselves. Well that, and because both of
my children were born here.
There are so many reasons I love my
job as a scheduling coordinator with
neurosurgery, but one constant keeps me
motivated: Knowing each day will bring
significant opportunity to do what I came
here to do.
Give small gestures that seem like very little
to me, but mean everything to someone
else. In those moments of the day, I know
all the hard work is worth it.

Orlando Regional Medical Center
Like so many of my colleagues, I see
patients on what’s often the worst day of
their life. One might think that’s a hard way
to work, but it’s incredibly gratifying to be a
member of the Air Care Team, and to have
the opportunity to make a difference in the
lives of our patients and their families.
My interest in caring for the most critical
emergency patients began when I worked
in the Emergency Department at Halifax
Medical Center in Daytona Beach — and
then later grew into my life’s passion
after spending decades as a Fire Fighter
and Paramedic. Interacting with Air Care
teams regularly, I admired the expert and
compassionate care they provided in the
very worst of circumstances. Every time,
the Air Care team worked to create a safe,
secure and stable environment. And every
time they treated me like a member of the
family.
In November of 2011 my wish came true.
I finally became an official member of
Orlando Health’s Air Care Team. I work
hard every day to create an atmosphere of
calm for patients in the midst of trauma. In
return, their smiles or looks of appreciation
keep me motivated and make all the tragic
parts of the job disappear.

really just a matter of figuring out which
department would be willing to take on a
nurse fresh out of school. But for every step
of my career, from “green” to experienced
surgical nurse, Orlando Health has
supported my every twist and turn.
I’m truly blessed to work in an organization
that promotes growth and allows us all the
room we need to spread our wings. I feel
privileged to come in every day to work
with a team I consider family and make a
difference in someone’s life, especially in
their dark times. For a nurse, there’s simply
nothing better than seeing someone arrive
sick but walk out healthy.
I’m very proud to be an Orlando Health
South Lake Hospital nurse. The community
of South Lake County is very near and
dear to my heart. It’s where I’ve raised
my children and where I’ve been able to
accomplish my dream of becoming a nurse
without taking me far from my family.

Lisa Layne Castin
Medical Assistant
Orlando Health Heart Institute
Because my entire family is affected by
coronary artery disease, I was inspired to
study cardiology. I also love everything
about the heart, and how this one organ
has so many critical features that keep the
body functioning.
Fast-forward 23 years and I’m still living
out my life’s passion every day. Working
closely with patients who experience heart
conditions, or need to prevent them, is such
a meaningful thing. The Orlando Health
Heart Institute makes a real difference —
for my loved ones, our patients and our
community as a whole. I love treating every
patient as if they’re family. It’s essential
they feel comfortable, well taken care of
and that we offer safe, effective, evidence-
based care.
As a certified medical assistant, I’ve worked
alongside Dr. Parimal Maniar for 15 years.
It’s an honor to learn from an amazing
physician who cares deeply about the
patients and families we serve.
I genuinely consider it a privilege to be a
team member. I’m so glad that I said yes to
Orlando Health.

Maxwell Corrigan, MS, MT-BC,
NICU-MT
Clinical Research Coordinator
Corporate Office of Research Operations
Clinical Research Division
Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital
for Women & Babies
While a big move down the coast — from
Upstate New York to Orlando, Florida —
may seem daunting, I knew Orlando Health
Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and
Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for
Women & Babies was the place I needed
to be. With the exact clinical populations
I’m passionate about, and an incredibly
supportive work environment, becoming
an Orlando Health team member seemed
“meant-to-be.”
As a clinical research coordinator for
the NICU, I problem-solve, navigate
complex systems, keep up with regulatory
paperwork and manage data. While it isn’t
everyone’s cup of tea, it’s very rewarding to
me. I love interacting with a diverse group
of people — because really, everyone has
a link to research when you think about
it — and getting them as excited about the
possibilities as I am.

Tiffany Pratt
Corporate Director, Human Resources
Administration
Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital
As I researched career opportunities,
I noticed Orlando Health was being
nationally recognized for patient care in
adult and specialty areas. That piqued my
interest because, to me, this recognition
spoke volumes about Orlando Health’s
culture and meant they strive to deliver
truly patient-centered care. So when a
door opened for me in July of 2018, I had
no doubt I was meant to be a part of this
incredible team.
It’s hard to believe I’ve only been at
Orlando Health for ten months because my
colleagues feel like family. From teasing each
other about how far we think our sports
team will go (GO COWBOYS) to making
important decisions like staffing models for
a new emergency department, we work
together for the best possible solutions for
our team members and patients. And this
team — this family — pushes me to be the
best HR leader I can be.

Shannon Mulrooney, MSHA, RN, CNML
Nursing Operations Manager
Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital
With a desire to move to and work in Florida, I chose
Orlando Health ten years ago and never looked back.
Since my early career as a nurse at UF Health Cancer
Center (formerly MD Anderson), my dedication to
excellence in nursing and compassionate patient
care has never wavered. And neither has my desire
to develop my leadership skills and continue to grow
with Orlando Health.
Today, I serve as a Nursing Operations Manager at
the Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital Outpatient
Infusion Center and also oversee the nursing
operations for the Vascular Access Team and the 4B
Inpatient Neurology/Oncology unit. I’m a recipient of
Orlando Health’s Nursing Excellence Award and was
most recently selected to participate in the Emerging
Leader Program.
Being a part of the Emerging Leader program
encouraged me to look deeper within and discover
traits that would help further develop my skills to
become a successful leader. It also helped build my
confidence as I transitioned from a Clinical Assistant
Nurse Manager to a Nursing Operations Manager
– only three months into the leadership training
program.
Participation in the program offers opportunities
to enhance leadership skills and includes learning
sessions such as Coaching and Leading Teams,
Ownership and Accountability and Emotional
Intelligence and Leadership Style. I still refer back to
those teachings in my everyday work.
My mentor gave me honest feedback, which helped
me grow as a leader. I’m grateful for the mentorship
and the friendship I developed from the program.
I truly feel appreciated and am grateful others
have also invested in my growth. Our culture is
supportive, and I have great teams amongst all of
my departments — and for me, that makes work fun!
I’m a nurse, and working with people who truly want
to do the right thing for our patients reminds me
why I chose this career path.

Kristina Rolls
Integration Systems Analyst
Information Services
Being a single mom with a full-time career can be a
challenge. Before I became an Orlando Health team
member, my job as a consultant required constant
travel. My role now affords me the chance to spend
more time with my son doing all the things he
loves, and ensures that I can share all of his special
moments.
Aside from being able to finally achieve a healthy
work-life balance, I’ve also enjoyed the unexpected
benefits of working with such amazing people
every day. I’ll forever be grateful for my team, my
colleagues, my mentors and my leaders.
As an ELLiE Integration Systems Analyst, I come
to work excited to start my day. I’m lucky to be
able to experience new things and learn each day
– especially now that I’m on the ELLiE project.
Working for Orlando Health has opened up new
career opportunities, and I truly believe “the sky is
the limit” for my future.
