A word from

the Club Vice President

It's a great pleasure for me to
pen "PULSE OF LEOS" Newsletter
of the Leo Club of Saegis Campus
not as the Chief Editor, but as
the Vice President of the Club.

Due to this pandemic situation that
occurred all around the world, we
had to stop our physical projects and
move onto virtual projects.

But because of the hard work and ideas of Saegis Leos, we

were able to hold virtual projects such as "Own The Stage"

and "Rebuild Earth".

For me, Leoism is a place where we work while enjoying as

well as grab opportunities to do better things. That's why

Leoism has a special place in my heart.

To my Saegis Leos, Leoism is a great opportunity for all of

you to shine. Don't miss this chance and we all would like

to invite you to be an active part of Leos.

Also, I would like to thank the editors of "PULSE OF LEOS"

for the hard work and commitment put into the success of

the newsletter.

Lion Melvin Jones

As our company with “Leos”
completes the great decade of
amazing entourage for our
overall operations, because of
“Melvin Jones” who traced rapid
progress and acknowledges
confidently and voluntary that
the company with “Leos”
continuously to grow and
succeed. Melvin Jones is not one
to claim to be a visionary, as
most others who’ve achieved
his maximum quantity level of
success would
willingly declare.

He is a unique man who has acted with dedication and he
was a founder of “ Lions International”. he was born at Fort
Thomas, Arizona on January 13, 1879 the son a of military
leader in the United states, as a man with a strong heart
and a sense of humanity. He was pointed out in the broader
social context that humanity and living in harmony with in
another, taking the lead in establishing the “Lions Club”
was not false hearted mechanism of alienation but a subtle
but real reality. Also Melvin Jones was secretary treasurer
of Lions Club International. In 1913, he became the sole
owner of the “Melvin Jones Insurance Agency” and was on
his way.

He used his salesmanship to vitalize and increase the business circle’s
membership, he introduced new ideas in to the Lions Club Operation.
As high equivocality heart assembly operation, today the figure of
Lions Association has risen to as transforming society with societal
applicability. “Melvin Jones” had anticipated and had done some
cloakroom campaigning, aided by members of the business circle, who
were backing their secretary’s favorite……..the “Lions”. Melvin had
done considerable research in to legend he heraldry and zoology, and
was convinced that the Lions stood for courage, strength, fidelity and
vital action. On a secret ballot it was tentatively decided to call the
new group of the “Association of Lions Club International”.

Since the founding of the Lions Club by this noble, great, invincible
person “Melvin Jones”, we as the “Leos Association” are a closely knit
and shouldering a huge, great social mission working as a “One Family”
just as he taught us even more vigour in the coming years. Because,
“We are Lions on this earth forever……, “we are for you as the Leos and
Lions with all our hearts………….”

REFLEXION

Mid Year Review of Leo District
306 A2

The mid year review, "Reflexion" of
Leo District 306 A2 was held on
24th January 2021 successfully and
the Chief Guest of the Mid Year
Review was Leo Champaka
Dhammage, the Multiple District
President of Leo Multiple District
306. More than 16 clubs from the
district explained what they did for
the past 6 months and future plans
for the next 6 months of the club.
At the award ceremony, Leo Thisuri
Nisalya, the president of Leo Club
of Saegis Campus was awarded as
the Leo Of The Month of November
and the club was awarded with
"Top 5 Emerging Leo Clubs Award".
Thank you for trusting us for the
past 6 months and look forward to
the months coming.

SQUADRA'21

"SQUADRA" the online get
together for Saegis Leos was held
on 27th January 2021 at 7.30pm
with the participation of Saegis
Leos . Due to the pandemic
situation, Saegis Leos weren't
able to meet and talk with each
other and this became a great
opportunity to chit chat and fun
talks to every Saegis Leo.
Thank you for the Leos,
prospects for joining with us and
enjoying the event. Also to the
Leos who made the evening
more colourful by showing their
talents
Special thanks go to our very
own Leo Advisor, PDG Lion Kamal
Seneviratne PMJF for joining with
us and staying with us till the
end and to the chairperson of
the event Leo Kalani Wasana, for
organizing this event.

World Braille Day

Braille is a code consisting of

symbols and is written in the

form of raised dots.

World Braille Day is an

international observance

recognised by the United

Nations to spread awareness

regarding the importance of

Braille as a means of

communication for blind and

partially sighted people.

It is important for disabled people to get the full realisation of their
human rights and the acceptance of Braille as a medium of
communication and education is a part of that.

The Braille day is observed in honour of French educator Louis Braille,
who was determined to find a way of reading and writing that could
bridge the gap between people who could see and those who
couldn't. World Braille Day is an opportunity to spread awareness
about the rights of the visually impaired. Louis Braille invented a
system of reading and writing for the blind or visually impaired. As a
teenager, Louis Braille worked tirelessly till he was successful and his
system was completed by 1824, when he was just 15. Braille is
essentially a system of tactile code that allows the blind people to
read and write quickly and efficiently. A life transforming invention,
Braille was adapted in many languages later.

World Braille Day is observed every year on January 4th to raise

awareness about how Braille plays a significant role in the complete

realization of human rights in the lives of blind and partially sighted

people.

There’s nothing in the world than parental love and a good
companionship who reflects us a mirror. At first the boy
was struggling without strength, his father but later he
turned all his failures in life to strength. This is because he
had his mother’s love and guidance of a good friend.
Mother is the best example in the world to explain us
what is love. But there is no definition in the world that
can-do justice to the word “mother”. A mother has a pure
heart that is filled with pure love. A good friend stays by
our side and shows us the path to overcome our problems.
A best friend can lead our path to heaven or to hell. A
good companionship leads you better. We should always
appreciate the people who try to make us strong and
happy. He won many obstacles in his life because of the
beautiful people around him. Love of a mother and
companionship of a good friend had filled a huge gap in
his life. Don’t be afraid to fail in your life because failures
make you more powerful. And never forget the people
who said n your time of difficulties “don’t worry. I’m there
for you”.

this newsletter a success. As youth of the second
decade of the 21st century we see ourselves
being pulled into harsh realities of life that we
feel we're not ready to face, but with the
experience and memories gained while at Saegis
Leos will always bring the boundless joy for us.
