TINY SMILES
~Make them happy, make them smile~

For the Children’s day, which was due on the 1st of
October, Saegis Leos went to LOLC Care Child
Development Center in Madiwela to spend some
quality time with the children there.

It was an unforgettable day for Saegis Leos as we
were able to meet kids who were waiting for us. Just
talking with them made us happy, and it was a
pleasant sight to see them enjoying our treats.

There were kids from different religions and
different places of the country. At the end of the
day, they taught us many lessons, including being
happy in every situation. Special thanks go to our
Leo Advisor PDG Lion Kamal Seneviratne PMJF and
Lion Lady Delrusha Seneviratne for being there
with us to witness the special day. Without them, we
wouldn't have been able to succeed in our project.

TWINNING PROJECT 2020
FOCUSED ON HUNGER RELIEF 2.0

This time Leo Club of Saegis
Campus joined with 16
countries including Pakistan,
Brazil, Zimbabwe, Australia
and many more to relief
hunger which was organized
by the Leo Multiple District
315, Bangladesh. There were
296 Clubs from those 16
countries.

Leo Club of Saegis Campus
chose a disable children's
home in Nugegoda and
donated dry rations on the 3rd
of October. We were able to
donate significant amount of
dry rations and we would like
to thank our very own Saegis
Leos who contributed to us to
make this project a success.

True Friendship is a
beautiful bond

Friendship can be called one of the greatest and beautiful bonds in a
person's life. It can be described as a bond that anyone can wish for.
Having friends they can trust is one of the greatest blessings a
person can have in life. As such, it strengthens that bond. Simply put,
friendship is a dedicated relationship between two friends. Two
friends care about each other. Usually, a friendship is formed by two
people with similar interests and feelings.

You will meet many people in your life journey and only some of them
will stay with you forever. Friendship is the most beautiful gift you
can give to anyone. A person knows many people. However, the
closest ones become or friends. Trust is very important here.

At your school, you can have many friends but of them, you can
trust only a very limited number of people or one or two people who
share a true friendship with you. In true friendship, a person can
completely be himself without fear of being judged. It makes you
stronger. It also creates love and acceptance.
Every human being tries to maintain this kind of beautiful bond in
his/her life. Finally, I like to say having a true friend makes our lives
easier and full of happiness.

The Importance of
Self-love

Self-love is the secret weapon for living a full-filling life and as well as the gift
which keeps on giving. Some people equate self-love with selfishness, which is
not.

Let us start by how important self-love is. When you start loving yourself, you
make healthy choices, which includes eating healthy, exercising regularly, etc.
Another fact is that you become the highest version of yourself. You might
have thought that you’re bad at everything and “I hate myself” sometimes.
These thoughts will surely decrease your ability to succeed. But when you love
yourself, you gradually achieve more goals as well as success.

It is noticeable that nowadays, children are attempting suicide. Don’t they love
themselves? Thus they are forced to perform better because of this education
system, which leads the child to have pressure on the head. But, they deserve
to be loved and to be happy. Especially we should teach them and show them
how to love themselves.

However, as I believe, everyone should love themselves, for what and who they
are. Loving yourself makes you happy every time as you have a clear idea
about yourself. Find ways to challenge your inner self. Find what suits you
most. Don’t kill yourself trying to get rid of “weakness”. Understand that no
one is good at everything and work on improving your strength.

Do you love yourself? Ask about it from your heart. And keep in mind that
“You don’t need to be perfect to love yourself!”
