9 Then, in 2019, the stars aligned once more, heralding the revival of the club with renewed fervor. Under the steadfast guidance of Leo Geenath Ranawaka, 19 members rejoined the fold, breathing life into the club's dormant embers. The desire to help others was reignited, showing how dedicated these young volunteers were. In the year 2020, a new chapter unfolded, and the club witnessed its 7th installation. With 27 members standing shoulder to shoulder, the Leo Club of Thalangama Golden City embarked on a period of unprecedented growth and impact. Leo Nimesh Pathiraja took the helm as charter president, steering the club through uncharted waters with wisdom and grace. Chater President Leo Poorna Balasooriya In the heart of Thalangama Golden City, a spark of benevolence ignited in the year 2013, illuminating the path for a group of 18 compassionate souls who came together to form the Leo Club. Led by the visionary Leo Poorna Balasooriya, these individuals embarked on a journey of service and companionship, setting the foundation for a legacy that would ripple through time. As the years unfurled like the petals of a blooming flower, the club's leadership passed through capable hands, each president leaving their unique mark on the canvas of its history. With unwavering dedication Leo Ama, Leo Neranjana, Leo Thamali, and Leo Akila brought their spirited charm into the fold. Yet, as life's currents swirled, circumstances conspired to dim the club's vibrant light. For about 2 to 3 years, the Leo Club of Thalangama Golden City was inactive. The following year, the 8th installation brought forth even greater promise, with 33 dedicated members embracing their roles as catalysts for positive change. Leo Bihela Wanasekara assumed leadership, infusing the club. Together, they carried the torch of service ever higher, illuminating the lives of those in need.
10 It is with utmost delight and contentment that I pen this message to the Annual Club Directory of Leo Club of Thalangama Golden City for the Leoistic Year 2023/24. Firstly, I convey my sincere gratitude for the invitation to express m words on this felicitous occasion as an initiation for the eminent Leoistic Year. As one of the leading Leo Clubs in the District, Leo Club of Thalangama Golden City has achieved several milestones during the past couple of years while maintaining a quality membership, administrative excellence and wide variety of sustainable projects. The club itself serves as a best example of how teamwork can bring about a positive change in the society and continuously produced passionate Leos who ultimately have the urge and need to serve the society with the fullest potential. I also extend my heartfelt congrats to the Newly Installed President, Leo Amashi Perera and to the Office Bearers for a fruitful leoistic year ahead. I do believe that Leo Amashi will bring the diverse group of Leos together towards a common goal as an inspirational leader and thrive towards the success and development.
11 Leoism precisely refers to socialization and I believe that the process of learning is the appropriate and essential behavior that shapes one’s personality and as Leos it is our utmost duty to groom the quality of leadership and unity with an intense motive to serve the society. In this regard, Leo Club of Thalangama Golden City has always been an illustrious club for its socialization, leadership qualities and enormous work. ThusI take this chance to cherish the tremendous support provided to the District, enhancing fellowship and harmony. I believe that as passionate juveniles and together as a family, strong and untied under a roof, we could embody the best qualities of Leoism by providing youth volunteer opportunities that allow young adults to become involved in community services and to learn about the positive impact that they could possibly execute. So I recommend to extend the opportunities and to provide every Leo with a chance to experience a project on their own. To conclude, I also ensure that as the Proud Leos of Leo District 306 C1, myself and the council will always provide our fullest support and cooperation to a greater extent possible in all the future endeavors in line with our theme “United we Roar, Unified we Succeed”, to bring about a positive change and to accomplish great achievements together, fostering unity and coexistence. The Leos of the Thalangama Golden City have consistently proven to be one of the most valuable assets to Leo District 306C1.
