Over the past year I have been amazed by three key areas: Our Community’s Investment: LFSF had 327 volunteers who have volunteered several thousand hours for the betterment of our school. On top of this exceptional time investment, our community contributed over $1.41M towards furthering LFSF’s mission and excellence. LFSF could not deliver an amazing education without such a commitment of time and resources from each of you. LFSF’s Customized Approach: LFSF is a unique school that provides a customized experience for each student. Each LFSF student is truly known and is supported by our class sizes and excellent staff. This approach enables students to fully live out LFSF’s values of Curiosity, Respect, Empathy and Excellence, something I see in our students each day. Truly Amazing Outcomes: LFSF’s students continue to excel both inside and outside the classroom. Our recent graduating class was represented by 11 languages, 15 nationalities and was 50%+ LFSF Lifers (attended LFSF since preschool). This amazing class was accepted into the top 2.5% of universities in the United States as well as top schools in Europe, Canada and Australia. These results are in addition to excellent French Baccalaureate scores which validate LFSF’s authentic French bilingual education. In closing, I thank you for selecting and investing in LFSF as your “school of choice.” Sending your child to a private school is not an easy financial decision to make, but I trust that you see the excellent value provided through this bilingual, immersive, independent education. In this Annual Report, I would like to thank our generous community of parents, alumni, alumni parents, grandparents, faculty & staff, and friends of LFSF. This report intends to showcase a few of the impressive accomplishments that became achievable in the 2022-23 year, all thanks to your consistent and strong support. I begin by expressing my sincere appreciation to the 327 volunteers who wholeheartedly contributed to the school’s mission of nurturing a strong sense of community at LFSF. Your presence imparts a human touch to the school and transforms the LFSF into an extended family. LFSF has been an incredible experience for our family. We first joined LFSF when our daughter was in Pre-K—now she’s in middle school. Ten years and counting! The reason we love it? Our kids have had really caring and inspiring teachers who’ve been invested in their academic and personal growth. Plus, we’ve found a really fun and supportive community. Over the years, we’ve also gotten involved with the annual gala and annual fund. It’s been a great way to support the exceptional bilingual education our kids have received. Go Bears! Parents Association The Parents’ Association facilitates communication and encourages and coordinates volunteerism while fostering a spirit of inclusion and cooperation on all campuses. It organized community events including the Haunted House, French Winter Fair, Flea Market and Kermesse, all of that in addition to monthly coffee meetings. The LFSF Dads Club organizes events such as “Pétanque” in the Park, Camping Trip, daughter Dance, and Barbecue for Kermesse. It supported the school with direct financial contributions at the gala for Fund for the Future Music program and made all students happy with the donations of foosball tables on each campus. you are!

This year, together we: • Celebrated our diverse cultural community through heritage months, creating new learning opportunities and opening up the conversation about our own unique identities. • Completed the Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism Survey. Results will be used by students in an elective class and by a cross section of faculty and staff to further our mission of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. • Implemented institutional equity practices through policy review to reinforce a culture of collaboration. • Developed new initiatives such as a school-wide Neurodiversity week. • Continued to lift voices of marginalized community members: we now have a Neurodiverse student affinity space, a thriving LGBTQI+ club and our Coalition of Black Students and Allies curated a selection of African American and Black studies books for our Ortega campus. • Built a diverse book selection in all three campus libraries • Organized our first all language inclusive community event- showcasing the short films of Helene Goupil La Mission and The Seed. SAXOPHONE AUCTION GALA The hum of instruments tuning, the joyous sounds from the children’s chorus rehearsing, the electricity generated by the band - the LFSF musical spirit was an inspiration and a through line for the Gala’s fundraising efforts in 2023. The crescendo, much to our delight, was a successful fund for the future right on the heels of unforgettable student performances. We’re looking for an encore in 2024! At LFSF, music teachers, true professionals, are passionate and recognize the many benefits of music in the development of their students. The $200k raised at the gala are being invested. To date, the teachers and the extra-curricular activities department have already acquired instruments, choir risers, sound systems, musical games such as giant musical goose games, musical domino games or musical Bag Race games to learn music in a fun way. They also have taken students to shows, the opera & concerts. The music room in Ashbury acquired new murals painted by Nicole Hayden. ENDOWMENT THE LFSF HOLDS 6 ENDOWMENT FUNDS. Endowment funds are invested to provide income that is then used to fund a specific area. The principal sum of the endowment remains intact, while the income generated is spent on the project, and future reinvestment allows the endowment to grow. Contributions to the endowment fund are voluntary, independent of tuition and donations to other funds. #1 #2 #3 THE GENERAL FINANCIAL AID ENDOWMENT FUND was established by the Board of Trustees in 2019. The LFSF commits to inclusion and socioeconomic diversity by providing financial aid to students in need. This fund serves to finance this commitment in the long term. The main source of growth of the Endowment for the last two years has been the proceeds of the annual Wine Circle event. GRANT | E.E. FORD FOUNDATION $100K grant awarded from the Edward E. Ford Foundation and matched by the community of parents to implement a comprehensive three-year program named “Actions Beyond Words” with : Artists in residence program, workshops and conferences.
