Our faculty and staff have worked tirelessly to provide a supportive and challenging learning environment, and we are grateful for their dedication and commitment. Chers parents, chers amis J’ai le grand plaisir de vous présenter ici le rapport annuel de l’année scolaire écoulée qui fut marquée par de nombreux projets et de multiple succès qui ensemble ont tissé l’histoire d’une année qui me rempli de fierté pour notre communauté. Cette année encore, nos élèves nous ont rempli de fierté. Leur participation à de nombreux projets, compétitions ou activités leur ont permis d’avancer dans leurs apprentissages tout en s’épanouissant. Leurs résultats scolaires, notamment les résultats au Baccalauréat, ont été excellents. Pour cela, nos équipes ont travaillé sans relâche afin que les élèves soient accueillis et accompagnés au mieux. Je les remercie ici de leur dévouement. FINANCIAL AID Student financial aid is funding that is available to students and their families. It is used to assist in covering the costs incurred in the pursuit of education. 497 266 [$341,900] 28 [$13,797] students benefited from Financial Aid during the 2021- 2022 school year. students benefitted from a Sibling Discount students benefited from Non Tuition Aid (trips, exams...) students receive aid from the French government students receive aid from LFSF + the French government students benefit from the Seona Herail Endowment Fund - a merit based scholarship rewarding an incoming Highschool freshman for 25% of tuition distributed over the 4 years of highschool. 51 [$623,160] 54 [$1,318,194] students receive LFSF Employee Tuition Remission 36 [$664,147] 4 For the 2021-2022 sschool year, LFSF financial aid increased by 25%. ABOVE AND BEYOND ANNUAL FUND The Annual Fund is essential to the financial health of the LFSF as it directly impacts its operating budget. This is why it is our primary fundraiser. Contributions are directly used to support: • Financial Aid • The Global Learning program of day and overnight field trips • Authors & Artists in Residence and Guest Speakers • Technology Above and beyond the Annual Fund giving are projects that exist outside the operating budget. They are gifts that are restricted to special programs that help the LFSF grow, expand, and flourish. They are fueled by your donations to the Fund for the Future, LFSF Financial Aid Endowment, TLF, Decathlon, Boulangerie du LFSF, and Book Fairs.
AUCTION GALA
THE PARTY WITH A PURPOSE The 2022 Auction Gala attendees partied at Bimbo’s 365 Club with a clear purpose: raising funds for the school while having a good time. The warm atmosphere of the evening had all the energy and enthusiasm you can imagine with the Moulin Rouge theme. Proceeds from the event are incorporated into the operating budget. The Moulin Rouge kicked off the 2022 Fund for the Future: Innovative Learning Environments (flexible classrooms and learning). The success of the event would not be possible without the generous support of the many businesses, individuals, guests. A huge thank you to our co-chairs Laura Ragsdale and Jason Stone, all the volunteer parents, students, and staff. $613,080 The amount raised during the 2022 Auction Gala including $293,558 for the Fund for the Future 2021-2022
Innovative Learning Environment LEARNING WITH FLEXIBILITY Physical spaces are designed to actively support learning by increasing engagement, fueling creativity, and fostering critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills that in turn help students build confidence and adaptability. Furniture adapts itself to the learning objective to facilitate excahnges, promote sustained attention and regulate motivation. Teaching is adapted also to be more personalized and address each student’s interests and needs. While students can organize their work as they choose to and are responsibilized, teachers have more time to work one on one with each student. Autonomy, responsibility, and self-confidence are developed. This leads to curiosity, better academic achievement, and a love for learning. “We work collaboratively and learn what it means to help someone - actually not doing the work for them” – LFSF student
