As a steward of the country’s mineral resources committed to the promotion of responsible mineral resources development and implementation of the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), the Mines and Geosciences Bureau would like to share information with the general public about the Mining Industry&#39;s contribution to sustainable mining practices and support to the mining community/ies which aim to leave a positive impact on the people&#39;s lives while ensuring the long-term success of the mining operations.<br>The SDMP is a comprehensive five-year plan of the mining contractor/permit holders toward the sustained improvement in the living standards of the host and neighboring communities by creating responsible, self-reliant, and resource-based communities capable of developing and implementing activities consistent with the principle of people empowerment. <br>The objectives of the SDMP are firmly guided by the principles of sustainable development, improvement of human well-being, sustenance of the improvements over time, and equity and access to opportunities.
