Technological application: Digital softwareMicrosoft word and Excel. The monitoring calibration for recordkeeping is a crucial aspect of quality management. I was requested to carry out the documentation and filing of monitoring calibration for the equipment that has been calibrated. I also need to check calibration tolerance from the result of monitoring calibration to ensure accuracy of monitoring calibration within range. The preparation audit involves light activities given by my supervisor, such as labeling and doing partitions for the Quality Control Department file. These activities are the processes undertaken in advance for an upcoming internal and external audit to adhere to standards and regulations. Meanwhile, other activities, such as document preparation, are very crucial because they have the potential to affect the outcomes of both internal and external audit procedures. Preparation for the activities requires extra care and attention to detail. The activities are as below:- ➢ Change the new review date in SOP and WI to ensure it is complete, accurate, and up-to-date. ➢ Prepare document that can be provided to serve as evidence to the auditors in the formal external audit process. During External Audit Process
In Research and Development (R&D), I had the chance to be involved in the experiment with Dr. Fazilah Fazan. This session with Dr. Fazilah Fazan was intended to gather new knowledge and apply that knowledge to enhance currently available products. From observing the experiment until the completion of the experiment, Dr. Fazilah Fazan had thoroughly interpreted what the purpose was with the simplest analogy for us to understand and apply the knowledge. ❖ Observe experiment blood simulation in the production site. ❖ Observe experiment Vital Pulp Therapy (VPT) in the production site. ▪ Hypothesis testing ▪ Empirical evidence ▪ Factorial designs
Aim: To observe reaction of product with albumin and saline water. Description: This experiment discusses the relationship between the Granulab product and albumin, which acts as a protein present in the animal blood. The relationship between the Granulab product and saline water acts as a reference. This is to show how the behavior of products when protein reacts with it. Aim: To standardize the technique of Granulab product to use in Vital Pulp Therapy (VPT) treatment. Description: This experiment discusses Vital Pulp Therapy (VPT) for root canal treatment to introduce bone grafts in VPT treatment. Thus, the experiment is needed to regulate techniques used in medical practice, especially in dentistry, so that they align with the endodontic treatment.
Packaging Process ➢ Perform product packaging process with production team by packing product to new packaging before sending it to sterilization. ➢ Manage stickers for gamma sterilization and fold Instruction For Use (IFU). Equipment in Granulab ➢ Explore the production site. ➢ Learn the mechanism and knowledge about operation of the equipment in Granulab such as blister sealing machine, peristaltic pump and shrink wrap tunnel. Production in Granulab involved activities where I joined the assisting production team at the production site, particularly during the packaging process. In order to preserve work and time, the packaging process will be done with the cooperation of staff, which includes the interns and the production team. Throughout the packaging process, it is essential to adhere to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and any specific guidelines related to the product
▪ Packaging process ▪ Feasibility study ▪ Application of machine and equipment ▪ Liquid feed system Packaging process refers to the set of activities and procedures involved in preparing a product from initial packing to the final shipment of the product. The process plays the biggest part in the production to ensure the packaging serves a multifaceted role, encompassing protection, communication, visibility, quality, regulatory compliance, and environmental considerations. The process of packaging need to undergo inspection the packaging for defects in every steps of packaging process, ensuring it meets quality standards. Also, this is to ensure and verify that the packaging protects the product and complies with regulations. Moreover, there are activities that involve the equipment that I learned this semester. The production team provided lots of insight and teaching regarding the machinery and equipment at Granulab Sdn. Bhd. I was able to look into a number of pieces of equipment and gain knowledge about the mechanisms and faults that have occurred regarding the machine and equipment.

Technological application: Blister sealing machine. The blister sealing machine prioritizes the sealing process in product packaging processes. The machine has their own set of tools and heating elements designed specifically for creating a secure and consistent seal between the blister tray and the backing card or film. The machine is designed to work with blister trays that have already been formed in a separate process as it is only intended to seal the blisters to a backing card or film. The figure shows a blister sealing machine. By exploring the production site, the production teams provide knowledge for deeper learning and understanding the machine, which is also basic to the application. I had the chance to become familiar with as well as investigate the machinery and equipment on the production site while under guidance the production team. The equipment in Granulab that that I was able to use for learning this semester are as below: • Blister Sealing Machine • Peristaltic Pump • Shrink Wrap Tunnel
Turn on the main electric supply Switch on air compressor Select power switch and working switch Adjust the timers and temperature control Product ejection Sealing/ welding time Filling the products inside the mold (Blister packaging placement) Technological application: Peristaltic pump. The function of a peristaltic pump is to provide a reliable solution for moving a variety of fluids in a wide variety of markets and applications, and most of it works through rotary motion. This pump can be called a hose pump, a tube pump, or a roller pump. In Granulab, the peristaltic pump works in conjunction with spray dryer to move the liquid through the tubing to the spray dryer machine. The figure shows a mechanism of peristaltic pump. The graphic above shows a process flow of Blister Sealing machine in generally.
Technological application: shrink wrap tunnel. In final packaging process, the conveyor of the shrink wrap tunnel and heat are used in a shrink tunnel to keep the tunnel chamber at a constant temperature. It is used to tighten the shrink plastic that has wrapped around the product. The figure shows a shrink wrap tunnel. Function: To employ heat to shrink plastic so that it covers the product’s box being wrapped.

Work-based learning experiences for nine months at Granulab Sdn. Bhd. can be both rewarding and intimidating when it comes to carrying out my duties and obligations because I also have assignments that I must complete. I have experienced and encountered many challenges during this structured internship. There are many complex understandings that are difficult for me to comprehend and fully adapt to the theoretical concept. However, through the communication and social interaction I made with the staff, I managed to ask them about related issues, which helped me build my confidence level. Even though the challenges were a largely positive and enjoyable experience that helped me mature as an adult, I did make a lot of mistakes along the way. But I learned some valuable lessons as a result of this, as well as the skills and abilities of the technology competency skills that are expected to be fulfilled after finishing the structured internship. Despite the fact that Granulab has a tiny workforce, we collaborate as a family, which has made me realize that teamwork makes the dream work. I was truly inspired by Dr. Fazilah Fazan and the staff in Granulab. Indeed, I will always remember my structured internship experience working at Granulab because, besides seeking and discovering knowledge, I gained a lot of ability, skills, especially the technology competency skills, and knowledge in the process to become competent and resilient in this field in the future. For example, I fully understand how the skills I developed can help maintain the product's quality and integrity in bringing it to market. The skills such as management skills, organizational skills, attention to detail skills, and communication skills, helped me grow to be a flexible person and a positive self-image person in the dreams I pursue.
