343 Dress Function The use of this vest is to be stockpiled by the Branch/Chapter/National Headquarters and to be worn by the individuals who spontaneously volunteer with the Malaysian Red Crescent in a short notice due to the nature of the disaster, conflict, crisis or disease outbreak. They will usually carry out limited disaster response due to the lack of training which includes but not limited to disaster relief distribution, assessment, coordination, psychosocial support, water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, shelter programme, and many others. This vest can only be distributed once the spontaneous volunteer has undergone a crash course orientation on the Malaysian Red Crescent, Code of Conduct, 7 Fundamental Principles, Emblem Usage, Security briefing and others. It may also be worn as instructed and returned to respective Branch/Chapter/National Headquarters upon the end of the task or mission. Events that will require the use of this uniform are as follows: a. In times of emergencies such as natural disasters, conflicts, diseases outbreak, climate crises and other situations of violence. b.
