Obituary
Born on January 14, 1967, in Los Angeles, California, Frederick Dubrae Boones’ par-
ents were Doris Jean Brooks and Fred Boone. Both of whom preceded him in death.
His mothers “Magnificent Seven” were Valerie, Terry, Stacy, Tanya, Sarah, and Ken-
neth (plus one) Shawn Jackson. His extended siblings were Freddie, Lamont, Darrell
Thompson, Cynthia, Angela, Alicia, Teri Slater, Toni, Candy Boomy, Fredricka and
Tonya (who preceded him in death).
Truly “magnificent” was Frederick (known to most as “Big Fred”). His mighty stat-
ure was bigger than life from the moment he was born until the moment he left us.
He was our “protector”.
You knew when Fred was near when you heard his “boom” of a voice, his mighty
laughter and his “matter of fact attitude” permeating throughout the room. The sto-
ries he’d tell of his youth would sometimes seem far-fetched but he remembered (it
seemed) every detail of the Magnificent Seven’s lives (then and now) and would tell
anyone willing to listen with a smile and a smirk. He was an excellent “story-teller”.
Fred's “knowledge of life” was ever astonishing. He could speak on worldly current
events and of course he knew everything going on in the neighborhood. He knew
er’body (and their mama too). His street knowledge was impeccable. This type of
knowledge is not found in any book. He was the “neighborhood ambassador”.
Throughout his life his friends would seek advice from him and usually were confident
in his judgment. Otherwise… you had no chance. His friends were many; his com-
panions were bonded with mutual affection and he was faithful to them all (in only the
way he could be).
A REMEDY, A RECIPE, A STORY: You got cramps, headache, “suga”… “Dr.
Fred” had the remedy not only for humans but for dogs as well. Your prescription
for “Suga”... Claussen pickles… for sinus and cramps—straight lemon juice; for
prostate... celery and apricots; Yo’ dog sick???? No veterinarian necessary... Dr. Fred,
he had the cure!
“What had happened was”…. Fred could finish that line with every detail. He told a
story that captivated and made you believe every word he said (although some of it
may have been a little stretched).
Those “blue Dominoes” he had for years were frequently played. He truly enjoyed
the strategy of the game with his loud music playing in the background (sometimes
with a little “aroma —- therapy”) and the good company of his life long friends.
Frederick fathered two sons. Fred and Tyler. He had three daughters, Breda, Storm
and Shaneal and… his extended children, Chalaina and Ariana (Young) . He was very
proud of them all; he loved and cared for each of them to the very best of his ability.
When you look at his children you see Fred immediately. There is no doubt that they
are his spawn. Not only because of their appearance but their demeanor and attitude
as well.
Stern, loud, frightening, loving, caring, funny was our Fred. But all with his kind of
love… There was no boundary to the concern and protection he displayed to those
he cared for. Who would of thought that this giant of a man... This manly man—
could cook, clean, comb his girls’ hair and maintain order in the neighborhood he
grew up in as well. He loved to build things with his hands and demanded order and
cleanliness. He’d get whomever needed straightening out “straight” with the quick-
ness of his “boom” of a voice. He could repair, build and grow just about anything (and
he did). He was truly a man with a no nonsense approach… who had many skills,
many friends and many jokes. His way was the right way.
Frederick Dubrae Boone was one in a billion. His life was cut too short and he will be
truly missed.
Frederick leaves to mourn: his children, Breda, Fred, Storm, Tyler and Shaneal. His
childrens’ mothers, Darlene Hayes, Katrina, Lanesha Jackson, and Carmen Neal-
Webb. His siblings, Valerie Lee, Terry Sniffen, Stacy Augustine (Jackie), Tanya
Green, Sarah Lynn Boone and Kenneth Boone (Marie); Shawn Jackson; the Boone
Squad: Freddie, Lamont, Darrell Thompson, Cynthia, Angela, Alicia, Teri Slater,
Toni, Candy Boomy and Fredricka, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nephews and
nieces, cousins, lifelong friends, and an abundance of extended family.

Me and my BROTHER
NO tats...
Plenty of scars;
With our last breath, we will protect what is ours.
Never on the front line, but won't leave no man behind.
Quick on the jokes, while under pressure we'll never choke.
A bond so strong, it's still unbreakable ... even though he's gone.
