P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? MY POSTER SHOWS THE EARTH REJECTING PLASTICS BECAUSE OF ITS DEGRADABLE QUALITY AND HARM TO THE ENVIRONMENT. AFTER VIEWING MY POSTER, I HOPE PERSONS WILL OPT TO TAKE BETTER CARE OF THE PLANET. ENTRY #1

P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? MY POSTER REFLECTS SOME OF THE NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF IMPROPER DISPOSAL OF PLASTIC ON THE PLANET. IT IS MY HOPE THAT WHEN PEOPLE VIEW THIS POSTER THAT THEY WILL REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE. ENTRY #2

P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? MY POSTER IS A DEPICTION OF EARTH AS A VITAL ORGAN (THE HEART) THAT IS BEING INFECTED BY PLASTIC THAT IS BEING BROKEN DOWN INTO MICRO PLASTIC WHICH TRAVELS UP TO THE ARTERY AND IS SLOWLY POISONING THE EARTH (THE HEART). I THOUGHT IT WAS FITTING TO USE A VITAL ORGAN AS REFERENCE TO HOW EARTH'S HEALTH CONDITIONS WILL AFFECT US, SIMILARLY TO HOW SOMEONE'S VITAL ORGANS BEING UNHEALTHLY CAN CAUSE THEM TO EXPERIENCE UNPLEASANT CONSEQUENCES. IN THIS CASE ONE SIDE OF THE EARTH IS LIFELESS IN COMPARISON TO ONE SIDE WITH FLORA AND FAUNA. I DID THIS TO CREATE THE CONTRAST OF "WHICH HEALTH STATE OF THE HEART WOULD YOU RATHER?" WHERE THE ARTERY IS PUMPING PLASTIC BITS VS PUMPING GOOD PRATICES OF REDUCING, REUSING, AND RECYCLING PLASTIC WASTE. ENTRY #3 Coordinator’s comment: please note that the poster includes 3 D elements, such glue depicting bits of plastic .

P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? (SEE NEXT PAGE FOR DESCRIPTION SUBMITTED) Coordinator’s comment: please note that the poster includes 3 D elements, such as plastic made to represent the tree’s leaves, nearby bushes and bird eggs ENTRY #4

P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? MY PIECE'S MAIN POINT IS A GREAT TREE WITLH A PLUMAGE OF PLASTIC INSTEAD OF LEAVES. THIS SIGNIFIES THAT THE PLASTIC PRODUCTS LITTERING THE GROUND ARE ACTING AS SUSTENANCE FOR THE TREE. RATHER THAN THE TYPICAL NUTRIENTS IT RECEIVES FROM THE EARTH- THIS IS THE REASON WHY SOME OF THE PLASTIC PRODUCTS ARE CRUMPLED, AS THEY ARE SUSTAINING THE TREE. YOU CAN ALSO SEE THE PLASTICS ACTING AS NOURISHMENT FOR THE BUSHES AND OTHER MEMBERS OF FOLIAGE AS WELL, AS PARTS OF SOME BUSHES ARE MADE OF PLASTIC. THE TENTS REPRESENT HUMAN PARTICIPATION IN THE DISTRIBUTION OF PLASTIC IN THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT. IT SYMBOLIZES THEM LEECHING OFF THE ENVIRONMENT'S NATURAL RESOURCES, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO TAKING CARE OF THE ENVIRONMENT, THEY DISREGARD THIS STEP, AS SEEN BY THE OVERTURNED TRASH BINS AND PLASTIC PRODUCTS IN THE RIVER. TO THE RIGHT OF THE PIECE, YOU CAN SEE ANIMALS EATING FROM BUSHES. PER WHAT WAS STATED PRIOR, THE SUSTENANCE FOR THE BUSHES IS THE PLASTIC WASTE MATERIALS, AND SINCE, BASED ON THE POPULAR SAYING “YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.", THE ANIMALS ARE EATING PLASTIC, THEY ARE BECOMING PLASTIC. AND FURTHERMORE, THEIR OFFSPRING AS WELL WOULD BE AFFECTED AS SEEN BY THE BIRDS IN PLASTIC EGGS IN THE TREE. IF I WERE TO RENAME MY PIECE,"TREE OF LIFE” WOULD BE AN APPROPRIATE TITLE. IT ENCAPSULATES THE CORE IDEA BEHIND MY WORK: THE INTERCONNECTIVITY OF NATURE AND MAN-MADE MATERIALS. PARTICULARLY PLASTIC. WHILE TREES TYPICALY SUSTAIN LIFE THROUGH THEIR ROOTS IN THE GROUND AND LEAVES IN THE AIR, MY REPRESENTATION OF A TREE WITH PLASTIC FOLIAGE EMPHASIZES THE DISTURBING REALITY OF PLASTIC WASTE AND ITS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT. BY DEMONSTRATING HOW PLASTIC HAS BECOME A SUBSTITUTE FOR NATURAL NUTRIENTS, MY ARTWORK EMPHASIZES THE NEED OF IDENTIFYING AND ADDRESSING OUR DEPENDENCY ON PLASTIC, AS WELL AS ITS NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES ON ECOSYSTEMS. THE TITLE "TREE OF LIFE” UNDERLINES THE CONTRAST BETWEEN THE NATURAL WORLD'S ABILITY TO NOURISH AND SUSTAIN LIFE AND THE DISRUPTIVE INFLUENCE OF HUMAN ACTIVITY, SHOWN BY THE PRESENCE OF PLASTIC.

ENTRY #5 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? MY POSTER IS ABOUT THE TOXICITY OF PLANET EARTH BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF PLASTIC WASTE. IN THE POSTER YOU CAN SEE THAT EARTH IS ANNOYED WITH THE AMOUNT OF BOTTLES THAT ARE BEING THROWN OUT BY HUMANS ONTO IT. BLOCK PLASTIC SAVE EARTH!!

ENTRY #6 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THIS POSTER DISPLAYS THE DESIGN OF THE EARTH VS PLASTIC. IT HAS THE COLOURS OF GREEN, BLACK, YELLLOW, BLUE AND WHITE. IT IS CATEGORIZED BY BLACK LINES THAT SHOWS HOW PLASTIC AFFECT US HUMANS AND ALSO OUR MARINE LIFE. ENTRY #6 Coordinator’s comment: please note that the poster includes 3 D elements, such green palm tree .

ENTRY #7 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THIS POSTER IS A DEPICTION OF THE EARTH SWALLOWING PLASTIC BOTTLES. THE TEARS IN THE EARTH'S EYES SYMBOLIZE MOTHER NATURE'S PAIN ALONG WITH THE GRITING OF TEETH. IT'S EYES WHICH ARE RED AND ORANGE SYMBOLIZE THE INNER STRUGGLE. THE MINI BOTTLES COMING OUT OF THE BOTTLE SHOOT THROUGH SPACE LATCHING ONTO A ASTEROID RING, CORRUPTING IT. THE MOON WITH ITS HOLLOWED EYES ARE EMPHATETIC TOWARDS EARTHS PLIGHT, PLEADING TO ANYONE WHO CAN LISTEN FOR HELP.

ENTRY #10 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? MY POSTER IS ABOUT THE DECAYING OF EARTH DUE TO THE EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF PLASTIC WASTE BEING INCORRECTLY DISPOSED OF. IN THIS POSTER IT IS SHOWN HOW THE OTHER PLANETS ARE THRIVING WHILE EARTH IS DYING AND IS PLEADING FOR HELP.

ENTRY #13 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THE FOLLOWING POSTER DEPICTS THE THEME PLASTIC VS PLANET THROUGH THE CONSUMPTION OF FOOD. TWO GIRLS ON OPPOSITE SIDES REPRESENT THE WORLD OF PLASTIC AND THE WORLD OF PLANET. ON THE LEFT SIDE, A GIRL IN A BLUE SHIRT LOOKS DOWN AT HER PLATE, SAD TO SEE THE PLASTIC FILLING HER PLATE. HOWEVER, THE GIRL ON THE RIDE SIDE LOOKS HAPPY TO SEE A PILE OF PANCAKES FOR HER MEAL. THIS POSTER SHOWS HOW CHOOSING ONE WORLD WILL RESULT IN YOUR NEXT MEAL. CHOOSING PLASTICS WILL EVENTUALLY DEPLETE OUR NATURAL RESOURCES ONLY LEAVING US WITH PLASTIC TO EAT. HOWEVER, CHOOSING PLANET WILL RESULT IN US HAVING A HEARTY MEAL EVERYDAY, FILLING OUR STOMACH WITH NOT ONLY DELICIOUS FOOD, BUT WITH HAPPINESS, KNOWING WE CHOSE THE RIGHT WORLD TO LIVE IN. Coordinator’s comment: please note that the poster includes collage elements, such as text.

ENTRY #14 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THE THEME PLASTIC VS PLANETS WAS TAKEN INTO THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONTEXT. TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS ARE SHOWCASED ON DIFFERENT SIDES OF THE POSTER. ON THE LEFT SIDE, THE DRAWING SHOWS A FISHERMAN CONDUCTING HIS ACTIVITIES IN A PLASTIC FILLED WATER AND THE CORPSES OF FISH FLOATING. ON THE RIGHT SIDE, IT SHOWS TWO YOUNG PEOPLE ENJOYING THEIR BEACH DAY IN A CLEAR SEA. THE ENVIRONMENTAL TAKE OF THE THEME IS A STRAIGHTFORWARD MESSAGE. EACH WORLD SHOWS THE CONSEQUENCES OF WHICH CHOICE WE, AS A SOCIETY, WILL MAKE, EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATING THE THEME: PLASTICS VS PLANET: WHICH WOULD YOU RATHER? Coordinator’s comment: please note that the poster includes collage elements, such as text.

ENTRY #15 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THE MAN REPRESENTS THE EARTH OR THE HUMAN RACE BEING AFFECTED BY THE POLLUTION OF PLASTIC THAT SEEMS TO BE OVERPOURING HIS IDENTITY, AS HE IS SUBMIERGED BY POLLUTED WATER WITH PLASTIC.

ENTRY #16 ENTRY #16 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? KEY Coordinator’s comment: please note that the poster includes numerous collage and 3-D elements.

ENTRY #17 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THE EARTH IS LOSING DEFENDING US AGAINST YOUR WASTE MY POSTER ILLUSTRATES A COLOURFUL HEADER, FURTHER DOWN DEPICTS THE EARTH AND PLASTIC FIGHTING IN A BOXING RING. AT THE SIDES IS A FISHERMAN CATCHING FISH AND PEOPLE RECYCLING TRASH. AT THE BOTTOMS SHOWS A POLLUTED OCEAN VS A CLEAN OCEAN.

ENTRY #18 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THE POSTER IS A REFERENCE OF THE GAME PLANTS VS ZOMBIES BUT INSTEAD OF THE PLANTS FIGHTING OF THE ZOMBIES IT’S THE EARTH AND ANY CARE THE ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMMES FIGHTING OFF THE PLASTICS TO PROTECT THE EARTH.

ENTRY #19 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THE DECISION THE POSTER DEPICTS THE CHOICE ONE HAS TO MAKE, DO WE WANT A PLASTIC FREE PLANET OR ONE FILLED WITH PLASTIC, AIR POLLUTION, WATER POLLUTION AND MORE? Coordinator’s comment: please note that the poster includes numerous collage elements.

ENTRY #20 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THE DRAWING SHOWS HOW BEAUTIFUL MOTHER NATURE IS AND EVEN THOUGH WE ARE DESTROYING THE EARTH NATURE IS STILL ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING ON EARTH. THE WATER SHOWS THE TEARS AND THE GARBAGE INSIDE IS A RESULT FROM HUMAN POLLUTION BUT MOTHER NATURE STILL STANDS STRONG AND BEAUTIFUL SO WE FEEL HEALTHY AND HAPPY AROUND HER.

ENTRY #21 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THE ART PIECE DEPICTS THE POLLUTION OF PLASTIC DECOMPOSING AND POLLUTING THE ENVIRONMENT. THE PLASTICS ARE LIKE FIRE BOMBS POLLUTANTS.

ENTRY #22 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THE PIECE DEPICTS A WOMAN REPRESENTING "MOTHER EARTH" BEING STRANGLED AND POLLUTED BY VARIOUS PLASTIC ITEMS. THE HAND SIGNIFIES THE COORPERATE INFLUENCE OVER THE PRODUCTION OF PLASTIC AT THE EXPENSE OF THE EARTH. HER TEARS REPRESENT THE RESTRICTED FLOW OF WATER WHICH WAS CAUSED BY CONGESTED WATERWAYS.

ENTRY #23 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THIS POSTER DEPICTS THE EVER CHANGING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOTHER EARTH AND HUMANS. WHILE, SHE HOLDS US IN HER EMBRACE WHOLLY AND PROTECTS OUR EARTHS FLORA AND FAUNA BENEATH HER MIGHTY SHIELD; THE GREED OF MEN HAVE LEFT THEIR MARKS ON THE EARTH'S. PLASTIC, ONE OF THE MAIN POLLUTERS OF OUR LAND AND OCEANS HAVE LEFT ITS NEGATIVE MARK ON OUR PLANET, DESTROYING OUR BEAUTIFUL PLANET IN THE PROCESS. A WAR IS BREWING AND WE SHOULD FIGHT FOR OUR PLANET, WE SHOULD ACT NOW, PROTECTING OUR

ENTRY #24 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? AT THE TOP OF MY POSTER THERE IS "PLANET VS PLASTIC" WRITTEN IN BOLD. WHILE ON THE LEFT SIDE THERE IS A "LET’S PROTECT OUR PLANET FROM PLASTIC POLLUTION" WRITTEN AT THE BOTTOM THERE ARE SOME MOUNTAINS AND PONDS.

ENTRY #25 P l a n e t V S . P l a s t i c : W h i c h W o u l d Y o u R a t h e r ? THIS POSTER DEPICTS THE QUALITY OF THE EARTH NOW AS IT RELATES TO POLUTION, SO I WANTED TO SHOW WHAT THE WORLD WOULD LOOK HEALTHY AND BE SAFE FOR EVERYONE ELSE, IF WE REUSE, RECYCLE AND REDUCE THE USE OF PLASTICS ON OUR PLANET. Coordinator’s comment: please note that the poster includes collage and 3-D elements.
