WELCOME TO OKVC 2019
Dear Colleagues,
I want to personally welcome you to the Oklahoma Veterinary Conference, brought to you by the OVMA.
Through this conference, we will further unite our profession which we love. We will bring together all
who make up this profession, and through education, we will aim for excellence in all we do. Whether you
are a Veterinarian, RVT, practice manager, staff manager, veterinary student or technician student we
hope you will find this conference helpful in elevating your love and knowledge of Veterinary Medicine.
I want to thank the dedicated members of our conference committee for their hard work this past year
in bringing you high-quality speakers. We hope you will find many areas of interest and please do not
forget to check out our general sessions where you will hear “hot topics” which are on the forefront of our
profession.
The exhibit hall is full of fun and helpful vendors who are ready to answer questions. They spend many
hours preparing for this conference and are here to help you expand your business. We appreciate their
support of the conference and the OVMA; please take a few minutes to let them know you enjoy their
attendance at this conference.
We hope to see you at our new event this year, the Thursday night Exhibit Hall Grand Opening. There will
be hors d’oeuvres, drinks, games, door prizes and time to mingle with vendors and colleagues in a
relaxed environment. I want to thank Veterinary Enterprises of Tomorrow for sponsoring the Grand
Opening this year. Again, please take time to thank all the vendors and sponsors for supporting OKVC!
We are also excited about the After Party Student Scholarship Fundraiser Event! This night is dedicated to
raising money for student scholarships and recognizing distinguished Oklahoma veterinarians &
technicians who help make this profession outstanding. There will be dinner, drinks, a silent auction, and a
fun night of listening and interacting with dueling pianos. There may even be some bragging rights at the
end of the night.
Also, I would like to extend a special thank you to our incredible OVMA staff. They work tirelessly year
round to make this conference successful, managing all the “behind the scenes” details. Without these
three amazing women, this conference would not be possible, so please offer them a sincere “thank you”
if you see them walking the halls this year.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the 2019 Oklahoma Veterinary Conference! We are a profession United in
Excellence.
Sincerely,
Dr. Wendy H. Bray
OKVC Committee Chair
OVMA President-Elect
