HISTORICAL & CHAMPIONSHIPS Carmel Athletics … A Winning Tradition Carmel High School won its first IHSAA State Championship in 1970 when Coach Don Huffer’s boys’ golf team captured the state title with a team score of 611 in the first year of the two day tournament format. Since that beginning, CHS has won 194 state championships; 176 of which are IHSAA titles, 8 Indiana High School Soccer Association titles, 5 Indiana Cheerleading Association championships, 1 Indiana High School Lacrosse Association titles, and 4 Indiana Girls Lacrosse Association titles.
