Actress Ritu Arya “Representation is a huge reason why I even got into acting. I wasn’t seeing people that looked like me on my screen, and I thought, “Well, I’ll be the change” and that’s a huge motivation.” Diaspora Talks Journalist Fareed Zakaria “India has the potential to be admired, not just for the quantity of its growth but also the quality of its values and that would truly be an incredible India.” EDITORIAL F inally President Joseph Biden announced that he is in the fray for the 2024 election. To start with there was the expected relief in many quarters that the occupant of the White House made up his mind; but he has been dropping enough hints in the last several months that he is running for an office that will certainly be his last of his 50 years or more of distinguished service to America. If elected for a second term he will be 82 and 86 years old when he finishes another four years. As it is he is the oldest President of the United States and many are seriously wondering and worried if he has the physical stamina to get through a grueling campaign and another stressful term. Whether President Biden should be given another four years is for Americans to decide; but surely his track record of the last four years as President will be fair game to political opponents who are quite capable of taking cheap shots in the name of campaigning. But Biden is not new to this game for ever since he flirted with the idea of Presidency in 1984, he knows well how all this will fan out, not just to the contenders in the Grand Old Party but in the media as well. Already the count has begun on how many times he stumbled on names and designations but also on the frequency of missing a step or two in boarding Air Force One. In making his case for another four years President Biden argued that the battle for the “soul” of America is still on with extremist Republicans still focused on taking away rights and dividing the nation. “The question we are facing is whether in the years ahead we have more freedom or less freedom, more rights or fewer. I know what I want the answer to be. This is not a time to be complacent. That’s why I’m running for re-election” the President said in the video message. But the seasoned politician is also aware that rights and divisiveness alone will not be deciding factors. In a country where foreign policy hardly matters in a Presidential or Congressional race, it all comes down to economics—the state of the economy, jobs, prices and inflation. The 2024 election will be of prime attention to the Indian American community. A major political force in the electoral map both Democrats and Republicans will be vigorously seeking attention of a group that has made its mark in all fields. In making their choice at the primaries and eventually in November 2024, the community will undoubtedly see which is the best ticket to serve their interests as well as that of the United States. The conventional wisdom is that it does not matter whether it is a Democrat or Republican at the Oval Office, for relations between India and the United States is only bound to get better as the last two decades have shown. PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN IS ON FOR 2024 12 New India Abroad Monday, 1 May, 2023 In making his case for another four years President Biden argued that the battle for the “soul” of America is still on with extremist Republicans still focused on taking away rights and dividing the nation. Biden, already the oldest American President, will be 86 at the end of his second term in office should he be elected in 2024. Biden and Harris make it official for 2024 STAFF REPORTER President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have formally announced the intention to run for the 2024 election. The announcement was made through a video on early Tuesday morning or four years to the day when Biden announced his campaign for the 2020 election. In the message titled “Freedom” Biden maintained that the battle is still on for the soul of the nation stressing that extremist Republicans under the banner of Make America Great Again (MAGA) are focussed on taking away rights and dividing the nation. “When I ran for President four years ago, I said we are in a battle for the soul of America – and we still are. The question we are facing is whether in the years ahead we have more freedom or less freedom, more rights or fewer,” Biden said. “I know what I want the answer to be. This is not a time to be complacent. That’s why I’m running for re-election. I know America and I know we are good and decent people. I know we are still a country that believes in honesty and respect, and treating each other with dignity. We’re a nation where we give hate no safe harbor. We believe that everyone is equal, and that everyone should be given a fair shot to succeed in this country”, he added. “This is a pivotal moment in our history. For two years we have made transformational investments to build a nation in which everyone can be safe and healthy, find a good job, and retire with dignity. In response, extremists have intensified attacks on basic, foundational freedoms and rights” Vice President Kamala Harris said. “… they want to take away a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body. They attack the sacred right to vote and attempt to silence the voice of the people. And they try to block common sense reforms to save lives and keep Americans safe from gun violence. The Republicans running for President want to take our country backwards. We will not let that happen”, she added. The video announcement of President Biden comes at a time when a raft of opinion polls have shown that a majority of Americans, including within the Democratic Party, do not want to see President Biden in the fray for the 2024 elections, his age cited as a major reason. Biden, already the oldest American President, will be 86 at the end of his second term in office should he be elected in 2024. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Chicago resident, Agrawal is the co-founder and president of “FinPro World,” an initiative that promotes financial literacy among middle and high schoolaged students by teaching them computer programming skills. She is interested in the intersection between computer programming and finance. In her endeavour to support the community, she said, “That feeling of being able to add value using my skills, along with my desire to make an impact in my community, triggered the idea of combining financial concepts with computer programming into a powerful educational platform for students.” Her award-winning project has helped more than 100 students across 15 countries including India. A resident of Cupertino, California, Doshi, 16, leads “CirFin,” a global initiative that aims to inspire young people to use fintech to develop more sustainable economies. Speaking of the thought behind his initiative he said, “I realized how little this generation knew about the circular economy and its financial components. Who will be the change agents if youth do not understand how crucial the circular economy is to combat biodiversity loss and pollution threatening our planet?” Doshi’s initiative has more than 100 participants across four international chapters. The two teenagers join a group of emerging visionaries that includes 2022 Emerging Visionary Sriya Tallapragada of New Providence, New Jersey. New India Abroad Monday, 1 May, 2023 15 The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security are now assisting in the case to find the couple abroad, their last traced location was in New Delhi. Indian-origin stepfather of missing Texas Boy stole $10K SUPRIYA SINGH The Everman police have charged Punjab-origin Arshdeep Singh, stepfather of a missing six-year-old child, Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, of stealing US$10,000 from a convenience store before fleeing to India with his wife and their six children last month. According to a police statement, Singh stole the money from one of his workplaces the day he and his family fled to India, leaving Noel behind. He will now be charged with felony theft charge in addition to a charge of abandoning or endangering a child. On a tip-off from a family, the police had started a probe into the welfare of the child and interviewed the couple of his whereabouts, two days after which they left the country. An amber alert was issued last month for Noel and the missing investigation was turned into a death investigation. The police are also yet to track Singh, his wife Cindy and their other children who are believed to be in India. “Today marks one month since the initial Amber Alert for this case was issued. Since then, this investigative team has spent thousands of man-hours on this case, followed more than 70 leads, issued more than two dozen search warrants, arrest warrants, and subpoenas, and conducted countless interviews,” Everman police chief Craig Spencer said on April 25. “Each and every single day, we get closer and closer to the answers that we all seek. 16 New India Abroad Monday, 1 May, 2023 “The Democrats are trying to persecute a very popular, nationalist president.” - Shalabh ‘Shalli’ Kumar, founder of the Republican Hindu Coalition. Republican Hindu Coalition chair Shalli Kumar changes tune on Trump SUNITA SOHRABJI The Republican Hindu Coalition, which had questioned its support for former President Donald Trump during his 2020 reelection bid, is once again wholeheartedly backing the candidate. “The RHC is 1000 percent throwing its support behind President Trump,” Shalabh ‘Shalli’ Kumar, founder of the powerful organization, told New India Abroad in an April 29 interview. Two Indian American Republicans – former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy – have also tossed their hats in the race to capture the Republican nomination. The Republican nominee will face off against President Joe Biden, who formally announced his re-election bid April 25 as Vice President Kamala Harris stood beside him. Kumar told NIA that he was supporting Trump, regardless of Haley and Ramaswamy’s bids. “Nikki Haley is eminently qualified and someday she will be President.” “Vivek is too new. He needs to go through the proper steps like running for Congress first. Right now, President Trump is the proven leader,” said Kumar. Asked why the RHC is continuing its support of Trump, despite several pending cases against him, Kumar stated: “The Democrats are trying to persecute a very popular, nationalist president.” Trump is currently embroiled in two criminal trials: he has been accused of rape by the writer E. Jean Carroll. He has also been accused of providing hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels. Trump had hosted a Diwali party for Kumar and supporters of the RHC at his Mar a Lago home in Florida last October. At the event, Trump said of Kumar: “He’s a great guy. He’s been my friend for many years.” Earlier this month, Kumar was announced as national chair of the newly-formed Republican Hindu and Indian American Coalition within the Republican National Committee. Announcing the new coalition April 18, RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said: “We celebrate the contributions of the Hindu and Indian American community at large for strengthening America as entrepreneurs, tech innovators, physicians, IT professionals, owners of hundreds of thousands of small businesses and service members in our military.” Kumar prefaced his remarks to New India Abroad, saying he could only speak on behalf of his organization, the RHC, and could not speak for the Republican National Committee. Kumar and his wife Shama were prolific supporters of Trump’s 2016 campaign. A New India Abroad search of the Kumars’ contributions showed that Shalabh and Shama each donated $224,500 on July 1, 2016 for a total of $449,000 to Trump’s election campaign. The Kumars donated again on Oct. 17, 2016, each contributing $247,500 for a total of $495,000. In total, the Kumars donated $944,000 to Trump’s 2016 bid for office. In 2020, Shalabh Kumar donated significantly less: a total of $56,800 via three contributions to Trump’s re-election bid. Shama Kumar donated nothing that year to Trump. In an interview with this reporter on Aug. 31, 2020, Kumar laid out a list of five “demands” he hoped candidate Trump would agree to. The businessman said the RHC would back off on supporting Trump’s reelection bid until its demands were met. The list included President Trump reciting a campaign slogan in Hindi The campaign taking out ad buys on behalf of the Republican Hindu Coalition A clear position from the President in favor of India’s Citizenship Amendment Act – opposed by many because it excludes Muslims. A clear position supporting Deferred Action for Legal Childhood Arrivals. Currently, the children of H-1B visa holders — who themselves hold H4 dependent status — age out of the system once they turn 18. They must then port to a new status, either as a foreign student with expensive out-of-state tuition, despite having lived in the US for most of their lives; or return to India. A clear position that supports clearing the green card backlog. The Cato Institute estimates that 1.4 million skilled workers are stuck in the employment-based green card backlog. The wait time to receive a green card is an astonishing 83 years. Several attempts have been made in Congress to eliminate the per-country cap, which mandates that any country can only receive 7 percent of all employment-based visas per year. In the 2020 interview with this reporter, Kumar stated that if his demands were met, the RHC would put its efforts into the critical battleground states of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. He noted that Biden is popular in Michigan, which Trump narrowly won in 2016. “Indian Americans could be the margin of victory in battleground states,” said Kumar, noting that a large number of Indian Americans are Independents, who could be swept up by either party. Kayo Anderson, executive director of the Republican Hindu Coalition, told this reporter in 2020: “To engage the community as we did in 2016 we need certain elements on the table. We are critical to turning out the Indian American vote for Trump.” In this week’s interview, Kumar said the RHC did endorse Trump in 2020, but “we did not actively engage with the campaign.” But, he added that he was satisfied Trump has met all of his concerns. The candidate will receive the endorsement of the Republican Hindu Coalition, along with active engagement for his campaign. Last October, Kumar released a statement noting that Trump has agreed to champion the cause of saving DALCA kids from deportation. Trump has allegedly also agreed to prevent the sale of any military hardware to Pakistan, including F-16s. Trump has allegedly also promised to sustain tariffs on Chinese imports. 18 New India Abroad Monday, 1 May, 2023 Indian workers benefit from increased pay and opportunities abroad while their families benefit from remittances the report highlighted The index is a perception-based survey conducted across select stakeholders dealing with respective countries. India jumps 6 places in WB’s Logistics Performance Index MADHU BALAJI I ndia has jumped six places to rank 38 among 139 countries in the 7th edition of World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI) 2023, according to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry on April 26, 2023. “On 4 out of 6 LPI indicators India has seen remarkable improvement on the back of various initiatives being implemented over the past few years. This is a strong indicator of India’s global positioning, with this development being powered by our Government’s laser focus on reforms for improving logistics infrastructure,” the Ministry said. The Ministry went on to give credit to various Indian government initiatives, citing them as the reasons for the new development. They included the launch of PM GatiShakti National Master Plan in October 2021, which focused on logistics, urbanization, and the need to develop resilient supply chains, the launch of the National Logistics Policy (NLP) in September 2022 that was aimed to shift towards more energyefficient modes of transportation and greener fuels to reduce the carbon footprint. It focused on multimodal transportation and complemented it by building multimodal logistics parks. “The Government of India also invested in trade-related soft and hard infrastructure connecting port gateways on both coasts to the economic zones in the hinterland,” the release added. According to the statement, the LPI report appreciated NICDC’s Logistics Data Bank project that reduced inefficiencies while connecting the hinterland to ports. The Ministry noted that initiatives like Sagarmala and Bharatmala have played a pivotal role in improving India’s logistics efficiency. Image used for representation (Photo by CHUTTERSNAP / Unsplash) Indians abroad earn 120 to 500 percent more RISHIKA BHARDWAJ Arecent World Bank Report found that Indians earn higher wages abroad than in their home country. Their earning in foreign countries are 120 to 500 percent higher enabling them to have higher standards of living and better education. According to the report titled,’ Migrants, Refugees and Societies’, every working-class Indian immigrant has experienced a salary increase when working abroad. Low-skilled Indian workers can expect up to a 500 percent rise in salary in the US and up to 300% more in nations like the United Arab Emirates. The report suggests that the reason for the large disparity in pay is India being an underdeveloped and developing nation that cannot pay high stipends to the working class. As a result, many Indians to relocate to countries with better opportunities and higher pay. The report notes that the benefits of working abroad are so significant that it could take decades for low-skilled workers in some countries of origin to earn what they do by migrating to a high-income country. The tech sector, in particular, is booming with more prospects for international applicants, with Indians positioning themselves in top positions in Silicon Valley companies like Google, YouTube, Microsoft, and Adobe. The World Development Report said: “In many cases, migrants, returnees, and diaspora communities transfer ideas, knowledge, and technology, spurring job creation and modernization—just as US Silicon Valley expatriates did when they helped nurture India’s information technology sector.” The report highlights that remittances provide a consistent source of income for migrant families, allowing them to invest in their children’s education, healthcare, housing, and entrepreneurial activity. India is the country that receives the most remittances internationally, with remittances nearing US$100 billion last year with low-skilled Indian migrants in Gulf countries sending nearly 70 percent of their earnings back to their families. New India Abroad Monday, 1 May, 2023 19 “290 million children will never have access to computers literacy at all. If you lack computer literacy in India, you will never get a job, or you’re stuck in the gig economy with very lowpaying job.” - Rakesh Suri, founder of Computer Shiksha. Computer Shiksha aims to bridge India’s digital divide SUNITA SOHRABJI Dr. Rakesh Suri, founder of Gurgaonbased Computer Shiksha, grew up in the same conditions as the majority of children he has devoted his life to serving. “We lived in crushing poverty with an extreme lack of resources to do what we wanted to do, including studies. I feel slightly embarrassed by it,” said the BITS Pilani alumnus, who went on to attain his Ph.D in management from Aligarh Muslim University. “And I decided when I was young, that one day I will try to do something for children who are like me, struggling with various things in life.” “A lot of people helped me to become very successful in the information technology world. And so I was clear that I should also help children who are facing similar struggles that I was facing in my childhood,” he told New India Abroad. In 2012, Suri and a group of friends got together with a vague plan of creating an education-based NGO. They hired an MBA intern to survey 50 schools in various districts of India, to find out what students and teachers needed the most. The intern surveyed public and private schools, including those run by NGOs. “We found one common thing: all schools, however good or bad, are able to offer English, Hindi, and maths. But none of them were able to do anything about computer literacy or computer education. So we felt that this is an area where we could successfully intervene because of our backgrounds in information technology.” “India has 334 million children in the age group of five to 16 years who are supposed to be in class one to class twelve. And out of them, 290 million children will never have access to computer literacy at all. And they will pass out of the schools and colleges and enter Indian workforce without ever having worked on a computer.” “Today, computer literacy knowledge is not enough to get you a job. But if you don’t have computer literacy, then you will not get a job. Because all jobs in India, and this must be true for other parts of the world, do require basics of computer-facing knowledge. And if you don’t have that, then you have tough luck. Then you will be entering the gig economy which is basically very low paid jobs. And that’s how things are happening right now,” stated Suri. Computer Shiksha started humbly, with Suri teaching computer basics to 60 children from the slums attending school in a cowshed. He and his colleagues brought 15 laptops for the children to work on. Other students from the school took notice. The class quickly expanded to 200 students with 35 laptops. Nearby schools heard about the program and asked Suri to include their students. The program jumped from 60 students to 1,200 in just 11 months with a start-up cost of Rs. 8 lakhs, roughly $9500. A decade later, the program has expanded to almost 128,000 students in 17 states across India. Suri optimistically said he hopes to reach 1 million children this year. Computer Shiksha’s program is a 55- week course. Students learn basic computer literacy, such as starting and shutting down a computer, using a mouse and a touch pad, word processing and formatting, and organizing and naming files. They also learn advanced skills such as using Paint to draw, using spreadsheets to create databases, presentation software, internet searching, and email management. The lessons are delivered via a video. Computer Shiksha trains teachers to manage the videos and answer questions. “After our children spend one or two weeks on computers, their confidence level, they feel no inferiority to any five star school child. Because they know by that time that they can handle computer much better than a child studying in five star school.” “Because in that five star school, he or she is more busy in Facebook and social media. Whereas these children are learning real computer literacy. They are learning Excel, they are learning Word, they are learning Powerpoint. So they are far superior. Wherever our children have competed with these five star school children, they have beaten them hollow all the time,” said Suri with pride. Boys and girls in learn computer literacy skills via the 55-week Computer Shiksha program, which has taught more than 128,000 children in 17 states across India. Image - NRIHelpLine With the funding, the startup aims to be a one-stop shop for all Non residents of India for their real estate needs STAFF REPORTER NRIHelpLine, a startup that assists Non-resident Indians in need, raised US$ 24,447 in its seed funding round. The firm aims to become a one-stop solution for the 100 million global NRI population to manage their assets and meet their obligations in India. The funding headed by Subba Rao from Dabur International, Arjun Nijhawan from Travel Boutique Online, Rahul Narvekar from India Network, Navneet Singh from NRI Legal Services, and Bharat Bhushan Bhatia from Hines Group. Ananta Raghuvanshi, who has worked with DLF and EMAAR MGF for three decades in the real estate sector, joined the NRIHelpLine team since she is aware of the difficulties and anguish that NRIs have when dealing with Indian vendors and service providers regularly. “She is committed to making the platform a huge success because she thinks it would transform the way NRIs handle their business in India from home,” a news release noted. Prasanna Rao, created NRIHelpLine to provide a complete technology solution for NRIs to manage their properties back home. The business intends to onboard real estate inventory in 6 significant Indian states and 29 cities, beginning with Gurgaon, for primary real estate sales in the first phase, as well as secondary real estate sales in the future. Prasana Rao, Ananta Raghuvanshi, Rahul Narvekar NRIHelpLine raises funds for NRIs in need PPRO and NPCI partner to facilitate global UPI transactions BHAVANA P NPCI International Payments Limited, a subsidiary of National Payments Corporation of India entered into a strategic partnership with PPRO, the leading provider of digital payments infrastructure to enable global e-commerce payments through UPI. The agreement reached on April 27, expands the use of the RuPay card and UPI acceptance across global clients such as Payment service providers (PSPs) and global merchant acquirers. This eliminates the need for merchants to establish a legal entity in India, make settlements to an Indiabased bank, or upload invoices to clear funds. Additionally, customers can make international purchases in Indian Rupees using their preferred payment option. Upon signing the agreement, Simon Black, CEO at PPRO said, “International payment service providers and their merchants can now easily tap into an e-commerce market that is expected to reach an estimated US$111 billion next year, and predicted to almost double to US$200 billion by 2026. By integrating UPI into PPRO’s digital payments infrastructure through a single connection, we have removed all the operational complexity for our partners to sell cross-border into India at scale.” Commenting on the development, Ritesh Shukla, CEO at NIPL said, “UPI has revolutionized the digital payments landscape in India and is respected globally for its role in simplifying and democratizing payments. By partnering with PPRO, a market leader in the payments infrastructure space, which powers a vast PSP and merchant network, Indian consumers will now be able to shop online with merchants around the world and pay safely and easily using UPI.” UPI, India’s most widely used instant payment system, introduced in 2016, presently handles 60 percent of all domestic payments. It supports 390 banks, over 325 million active users, and 100 third-party apps within a single mobile application. The system processed more than 8.7 billion transactions in March 2023 alone, the highest since its launch. Omisirge® is a product of Gamida Cell Ltd., a cell therapy pioneer, in collaboration with the Chennai-based company, LifeCell Internationals. This stem cell therapy, a first of its kind, uses stem cells taken from newborns’ umbilical cord blood at birth, but instead of being frozen as such, they are grown in a lab to multiply their number by multiples of 20 to produce sufficient cells for transplant that have better results. LifeCell’s Community Cord Blood Banking Program, through FDA approval, will favour Indian patients at large, the firm said in an official statement. The Omisirge® treatment will help adults, and kids older than 12 years of age, diagnosed with haematological cancers as it has faster engraftment of neutrophils (a type of white blood cells), has a broader reach, reduces hospital time and most importantly, reduces the risk of infections. Mayur Abhaya, Managing director and CEO, of LifeCell International, while congratulating the team at Gamida Cell Ltd. for this landmark achievement said, “This development has undoubtedly increased the use of cord blood stem cells, especially for patients of Indian origin who struggle to find a matched unit due to the limited number of listed donors. Expanded cord blood stem cells have been observed to help with faster recovery post-transplantation, reduced risk of infection, lesser time in hospital, and could be used by even those patients who do not find a perfect stem cell match.” LifeCell International, established in Chennai in 2004, is India’s leading healthcare services provider, utilising cuttingedge technology like stem cells & genomics to meet the nation’s present & future healthcare needs. Patients of Indian descent in need of a transplant have access to more than 70,000 matching stem cell units through LifeCell’s Community Banking Programme, the biggest repository of ready-to-use stem cells in the world. Its facilities have received AABB, NABL, and CAP accreditation. Omisirge®, the first of its kind stem cell therapy helps people diagnosed with hematological cancers. Aries You are heading into a period in which you will have many work and, therefore, economic opportunities, Aries. Think about your goals and open your eyes wide to recognize them and build on them. A certain astral conjunction helps you increase your ability to adapt to changes and new situations. Your intuition will be very sharp, so if you have to decide something, trust your inner voice more than anyone’s advice. You will have the judgment and the ability to tackle any problem and come out of it with flying colors. Do not go into a business that is offered to you; it may be very tempting, but it is also very risky. In love, don’t get carried away by envious comments that might make you jealous. Don’t believe a word of their gossip and control your urge to make a scene because your partner might be hurt by your doubts and attitude and you might alienate them. Taurus You’ll be overly sensitive these days, Taurus, and you need to do your best to see reality and not get carried away with your perceptions. You may think the whole world is against you, or get angry over unimportant matters. Don’t blame anyone for what they say or do, everyone is free to express themselves. Before you start, think twice. You can be very harsh with your words, and the fact is that when you go beyond your extreme touchiness, you might regret it. Your finances are going through a very favorable period, which will lift your spirits and allow you to benefit from a more comfortable situation. Finally, the economic balance that was partly responsible for your state of mind will return to your life. You have many things to think about, but until the last days of the week, you will surely not have the mental clarity necessary to do so. Wait, don’t make decisions that might be wrong. In the love aspect, this mindset complicates things for you. Think about it. Gemini It’s time to start looking for new work opportunities, Gemini. You have worked hard to grow in your current company but your struggle does not seem to have paid off, in part perhaps because your relationships with certain people in power have not been very harmonious. This week you will also begin to feel the need to feel more free, to be more independent. If you share a relationship with other partners, this feeling will make you feel a little uncomfortable, because you will want to make your own decisions without having to consult them. Don’t be bitter about it. Talk about it calmly, discuss your aspirations and you can find a solution together. In love, sometimes you have to take refuge with your friends because your partner goes too far in his suspicions of infidelity. You then feel alone and unable to refute his arguments, because he does not reflect the truth. Ask yourself if you really want to spend your life with someone who doubts you. Cancer Finally, your head is no longer in the fog because of professional problems, Cancer. The difficult period you went through recently, due to disagreements with one of your superiors, is over. If you’ve chosen to ignore the problem and keep working hard to prove your professional worth, now is the time to reap the rewards of your efforts, because they won’t have been in vain. You were able to prove your level and your tenacity. This week you will get the recognition you deserve. It will bring you many benefits and you will finally feel relieved. This is very important because you spend most of your day at work. This change will also be beneficial for your love life, because you will transmit relaxation and happiness and your partner will be delighted. If you’re a lonely hearter right now, don’t be melancholy, celebrate your career success and hang out with friends. Love is closer than you think, but if you’re more interested in other things, you won’t be able to detect it. Refine your intuition. Leo The time has come for you to analyze what is happening at work, Leo. You’ve had friction with a boss or co-worker and you don’t seem to feel comfortable. But this week, the atmosphere will be more relaxed and you can reflect on the reasons for these disagreements. Perhaps you unconsciously provoke them yourself. If you invest money, focus on the return of that investment. You have achieved good results, but you need to develop a business plan to plan the next steps. Be careful with money, which tends to slip through your fingers. And also beware of scams and scams, small scale, of course, but they are very annoying. In love, a very pleasant week awaits you, which will allow you to compensate for other disappointments. If you have started a relationship, you are full of illusions, enjoy the present and do not think too much about the future. Virgo Too much activity at work will have a negative effect on your mood, Virgo. Avoid this as it could lead to relationship issues with your colleagues. You should be happy because an increase in activity means things are going well, better than they have been so far. You may be nervous because you will have to do things you are not used to and you may feel unsafe. Keep calm, you are perfectly capable of achieving anything you want. You are not lacking in abilities and resources. The most important thing to succeed is to control your nervousness. This will allow you to generate additional income later, but you will probably spend a few days in a difficult situation. Not because you do don’t have enough money, but because it flows out of your hands like water. Control your expenses. In love there will also be movement. You may notice strange behaviors in your partner that will alert you. Before making a mess, think that you are the one who is stressed. Come to your senses. Libra You will have an intense week of work that will allow you to demonstrate your skills and your ability to work perfectly even under pressure, Libra. It will be very positive for you, so don’t get overwhelmed. In business, on the other hand, caution is required. Perhaps you have already encountered problems in carrying out a project and, although you do not see yourself capable of solving it, you do not want to listen to those who give you a way out. Be a little more humble and change your attitude. On the other hand, in love, you have a clear vision and you realize that your other half gets carried away over trifles of no importance. Now that you have found someone who loves you and makes you feel safe. Scorpio You have an excellent week in the field of work thanks to a very positive astral influence, Scorpio. Now you can achieve anything you want. Towards the end of the week, you are likely to get the opportunity you have been dreaming of and you will gain great professional prestige. On the other hand, financial matters are at risk. This is not the right time to start a project. Also, maybe someone you know will ask you to lend them some money. If you feel like it, do it, but more than likely you won’t get it back. On a sentimental level, free-hearted Scorpios might be surprised. Maybe a longtime friend will finally tell you that he’s been in love with you all your life. If he leaves you in shock and you are considering answering him with a big “no”, think twice because an affirmative answer is more advisable. He knows you very well, he loves you very much and you have always felt good with him/her. Try ! Sagittarius You might be disappointed these days, Sagittarius. It is possible that, for various reasons, a project that you want to carry out in the field of work is put on hold. Do not be discouraged, the opportunity will come later. This week, try to take things calmly, because in the financial field, too, you must act with caution. The atmosphere is turbulent and it’s not the right time to make important decisions. Even less if they involve high expenses. Therefore, if you have thought about buying a car or even an apartment, wait a little longer until these questions are better aspected by the stars. On a sentimental level, you may have to face some problems with your partner. You are more attractive than ever and you have many suitors. You may be tempted to frolic with some of your admirers, perhaps in your work environment. If this gets to your partner’s ears, there could be a major argument. It’s not worth it. Capricorn You are entering a good phase in your professional life, Capricorn. Now you feel more comfortable because your work is valued. Despite this, it is advisable to exercise a little more restraint when you have to say something in this environment, as you tend to be too abrupt. The same problem can arise if you have your own business. If something doesn’t go the way you planned, you’ll put yourself in a situation that will end up getting you in trouble. Take advantage of the fact that the stars are thought-provoking this week and think about how you can improve this aspect of your character. Try to be more tolerant, especially of other people’s mistakes, to avoid unnecessary resentment. It’s always best to be on good terms with those you spend so much time with. On a sentimental level, these days, problems could arise with your partner because of your lack of confidence in him. At first, he may even be amused by your jealousy, but if you continue with this attitude, he will eventually get bored. Aquarius You will have a very positive week in the field of work, Aquarius, and you could have a good surprise. Each time there was an internal promotion in your company, you wanted to take steps to achieve it but you never acted because you thought it was useless and that you would not be taken into account. But now you know for sure that your superiors have noticed you and that you have great support. This will boost your morale significantly. However, there are some aspects of your character that you should polish up, such as always wanting to be right and not listening to the advice of more experienced people. Listen to the advice of others, also in the financial field. If you turn a deaf ear and go your own way, you could lose money. In love, you don’t listen to your partner when he/she tries to inform you and then you complain that he/she doesn’t tell you anything. It’s up to you to solve this problem. Pisces These are very important days for you as they could influence your professional projection, Pisces. The most positive thing might come to you from a powerful person in your company, perhaps someone recently hired, who will notice your abilities. You distinguish yourself from others by your performance. In your free time, think about everything that’s going on. A good astral alignment will allow you to have precise thoughts on all aspects of your life. You will clearly see the path to follow and you will determine the mistakes not to make. On a sentimental level, if you are alone right now, you will meet someone who will completely change your life and who can make you immensely happy. The two veterans of international cricket have joined Sir Donald Bradman, Alan Davidson and Arthur Morris in having a set of gates named in their honour. The gates, used to access the field of play, were unveiled by SCG and Venues NSW chairman Rod McGeoch, CEO Kerrie Mather, as well as Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley, to mark Tendulkar’s 50th birthday and the 30th anniversary of Lara’s innings of 277 at the ground. All visiting cricket players will go to the pitch through the Lara-Tendulkar Gates, which is situated between the members’ pavilion’s away dressing room and the Noble Bradman Messenger Stand, an official statement noted. Thanking the SCG team and Cricket Australia for the gesture, Tendulkar said, “The Sydney Cricket Ground has been my favourite ground away from India. I have had some great memories at the SCG right from my first tour of Australia in 1991-92. It is a great honour to have the gates used by all visiting cricketers to access the field of play at the SCG named after me and my good friend Brian.” “Sachin Tendulkar’s record at the SCG is simply remarkable, while Brian Lara’s maiden Test century remains one of the most celebrated innings by a visiting player,” Mather said on the occasion. Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley added: “As the cricketing world celebrates Sachin Tendulkar’s 50th birthday, this is a fitting and timely gesture to recognise Sachin and Brian Lara as two legends of the international game with exceptional records at the SCG.” “It’s hard to think of two international sportsmen that provided more memorable performances than Sachin and Brian on this stage,” said Steve Kamper, Minister for sport.
