RESENSI BUKU 1:
The Magic Barber is a fiction story written by John

Milne.This book was published by Delta Systems in 1999.
This story is about a town called Crossway. Crossway is a

quiet and a sleepy town. Everybody in Crossway has long hair.
They wear large black hats to cover their hair. Men wear tall
black hats, women wear round black hats, boys wear flat black
hats and girls wear square black hats.

It is a bright, hot afternoon. Everybody stays at home and
sleep. Suddenly, they hear a loud noise and wake up. They get
out of their house and start to look around. They wonder what is
happening and who is making the loud noise. A small is walking
on the street while beating a drum. A donkey is following him
while pulling a cart.

There is a man sitting on the cart with a large notice
above his head. The notice reads that everybody can get a hair
cut in all shapes and colour for only one dollar.

Crossroad residents are incredibly happy because they do
not have to wear the black hats anymore. They shout and cheer
while throwing their hats in the air. The wind blows their hat in
the sky. Nobody sees the small boy picking up the hats, put them
in large bag and runs out of the town. Meanwhile, the barber is
busy handling the people of Crossway. He puts towel over a young
man’s head and waves a large pair of scissors in the air while
shouting his magic words. Everybody is happy when they see the
result and have their hair cut. They are not wearing hats
anymore.

However, the people of Crossway are shocked when they
see their head the next morning. Their beautiful hair is gone. All
of them are bald and they desperately need their hats again.
Then, they hear the same loud noise. A small boy, a donkey and a
man once again appear on the street. This time, the large notice
says, “Hats for Sale, all shapes and sizes”. The hat is two dollar
each. Everyone shouts with cheer because they can buy the hats
and cover their bald head.

I really love this story. It’s an interesting story as
The least favourite part of the book to me is when the

Bauldelaire siblings went to the town bank to confess their
opinion about Count Olaf. They showed many evidence to Mr Pou
such as the bruise on Klau’s face that was cduse by Count Olaf’s
aggressive action but Mr Pou just ignore them and gives excuse.
He should’ve taken actions before the situation became worst.

RESENSI BUKU 2 :
This is a fictional story about a thief who steals an awfully

expensive painting. Harry, the thief, comes into an art gallery and
steals the painting. On the way out, he breaks a beautiful blue vase.
Harry then goes back to the rooming house where he rents a room and
hides the painting in a newspaper and put it under his bed.

The next morning, Mrs Allen, the rooming house owner and
her daughter, Janey, watch the news on television regarding the
missing painting and the blue vase. Harry is not in his room because
he is busy on the phone negotiating the price of the painting with an
interested buyer in Seattle. Harry is not happy because the buyer
offers a low price.

Janey is busy compiling old newspaper to be collected
by the newspaper recycling truck. She collects all newspaper from
each room at the house. Harry comes back and sees the recycling
truck. He chases the truck while Janey watches him. Harry is very
anxious thinking about his million-dollar painting and manages to
stop the truck. The recycling truck driver is very angry. Janey
follows Harry to the truck. Something caught her eyes. She sees
some blue glass at Harry’s shoe and immediately remember about
the news she saw earlier that morning. She calls the police. The
police arrive and take the glass form Harry’s shoe and true enough
it is the same glass from the gallery. They search the truck for the
million-dollar painting and found the right newspaper. Harry is
taken to the police station for interrogation.

I personally really like this book. I love the part when
Martin met Tim and Priya. I would highly recommend this book to
fans of funny fiction books from the age of 7 to 11 years old.

I learned a lot of important lessons from this book. We
should always pay close attention and focus to details.

Marcel is a mouse that acts as a detective. Marcel lives on

a beautiful old boat in Paris. He likes books, restaurants, old films and
opera.

One evening in June, Marcel visits some friends at the Louvre
Metro Station. After dinner, at the station, he sees two men talking
about the opera singer Zaza's diamond ring, the White Star. It is
obvious they are going to steal it. Marcel cannot let that happens.

He follows the men but unfortunately lost them because there
are hundreds of people at the station. He runs to Zaza’s house, but
he is too late. The men have got the White Star. He looks around the
area and sees those men. He chases the thieves’ car and manages to
reach the number plate and sits on it. The men are talking and
laughing. Marcel is terribly angry.

After half an hour, the car stops in front of a cafe. A
woman is sitting in the cafe waiting for the men. Marcel sits under
the table and listen to their conversation. The woman is very
delighted to see the diamond ring. As one of the man hands over
the ring to the woman, Marcel bites his leg. The ring drops on the
floor and Marcel quickly picks it up, put it around his neck and runs
to the door. The thieves cannot catch Marcel as he is too fast.

It is late and there are no metro trains, so Marcel must walk
back to Zaza’s house. At the house, he tries to take of the White
Star but fails. He saw a soap dish on a table. He puts some soap
around his neck and the diamond ring comes off.

Next morning, Zaza find the ring and the story is in all
newspapers. Zaza is happy, and Marcel is happy, too. He looks in
the mirror and there is a thin, red line on his neck. While having
his breakfast, he looks up at the blue sky and smiles, thinking what
is going to happen today.

RESENSI BUKU 4 :

I really like this story. My favourite part is when Ishan
mentioned that scientist are working on Artificial Intelligence
or also known as A1. A1 is making a device so intelligent that it
can think for itself. Now, A1 is going to take away people’s job.
Ishan wonders how the future will be like. Maybe A1 robots
would even go to school! He started thinking how his book will
looks like in 2060. Maybe instead of no Internet, they will ran
of A1 robots.

I highly recommend this story to people at the age of
9 to 11 years old. This would encourage them to imagine and
sometimes think outside the box.

I learned a very important lesson from this story.
When we are bored, we shouldn’t hesitate or complain.
Instead, we should find our way to keep ourselves company in
every situation. I also learned a very important thing and that
is tomorrow depends on what we do today.

All About Chinchilla is a wonderful example of my
favourite non-fiction book! This book was written by Danielle
Bruckert, a professional pilot and an avation writer. This book was
published by Red Sky Ventures in October, 2019.

Inside the sturdy and decorative cover, beautiful, clear
photographs brings this complex awareness and information to life.
The inclusion of a close-up photigraphs help me read and see
chinchillas life from up closeas if I was actually face-to face with
those cute furry animals. The book also contains a lot of information
regarding chincillas, such as what type of food eater they are, their
origin and how chinchillas live their life.

Above all,the book does amazing job of showing
information regarding chinchillas. The section of chincillas fate into
almost turning extinct,reminds us to take care of chincillas so it
doesn’t extinct. We shouldn’t take their soft fur for pur greediness
and let the chinchillas suffer. We must keep the species alive!

One minor disappointment was the book mentioned so
little of chinchillas extinct. They only made little reference about
ways to prevent chinchillas from extinct. They only mentioned one
way to do so. Despite this shortcoming, however, the book is overall
an enjoyable and educational read.
