6.7.1 Orang Asli Ministry Brother Khong Poh Choy
Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. This year, a
committee to oversee the works and mission for the Orang Asli ministry was formed.
The committee members consist of:
1. Pr Peter Sunil
2. Bro Khong Poh Choy
3. Bro Desmond Leong Choong Keat
4. Sis Cheah Yet Thang
5. Sis Chai Soo Ling
6. Sis Tan Lean Hwa
We truly appreciate and grateful to Bro Ping and Sister Kon who act as consultant to the
OA ministry. With their vast valuable experienced having involved in the Orang Asli
Ministry for more than 10 years and with the help and empowerment of the Holy Spirit,
we pray that God will continue to bless OA ministry for the extension of His Kingdom.
Our regular visits to OA villages and to the local leaders in Pos Betau had been
hampered due to prolong MCO.
Villagers declared under EMCO were 19th mile, Tapah up to Pos Betau District in Aug
21, reportedly, 70 % of the local communities in Pos Betau were infected with Covid 19
in Sep 21. Despite the EMCO, we managed to keep-in-touch with local leaders for info
and news updating through whatsapp communication. Some of the local leaders namely
Pr Bah Man, Bro Jamil and Tok Batin of Kampong Simoi were also infected.
Thanks be to God, with steadfast prayers, His Divine healing, mercy and protection was
upon the OA communities. Tok Batin who encountered God personally through vision
during his hospitalisation was baptised in Nov 21. All Glory and Honour be to our Lord
Jesus Christ.
Floods and landslides were reported in many areas in Cameron Highlands due to high
rain falls in the month of Nov and Dec 2021, but we noticed the villagers that been
visited by our mission team, amazingly God allowed us to travel on dry land all the way
to the OA villages. Hence, the distribution of Christmas groceries for the last two trips in
Dec 2021 were carried out without much hassle. Hallelujah! Emmanuel, God was with
us and revealed in us. Again, all praise and glory be to God!
Append below are the records of the mission works in 2021:
Feb 21 : Construction/extension of fellowship hall at En Razak’s house in

supplied to Kampongs Semul and Terlan;

Apart from above:
1. Cash incentive was also given away during Christmas to Pr Clement Chu and his
3 co-workers as a token of appreciation and acknowledgement, rewarding their
efforts in nurturing the sheep in the local communities.
2. A new electrical keyboard was also presented to Bro Razak from Kg Sarang,
who is a very gifted leader in musical. We pray that God will use him and his
household as God’s instrument to be the light and salt for their communities.
3. 100 units of Audio Digital Bible Reading and Worship Songs in Bahasa Malaysia,
were delivered to the representative leaders for them to distribute to their
communities to bless the youth students who will be leaving the villagers to
proceed for further study as well as the working young adults and locals, to
nurture their spiritual needs.

deepest thanks to all the existing and new sponsorship for their contribution towards this
meaningful program. For further information, the church has spent about RM36,000 in

Last but not least, on behalf of New Life Lutheran Church I would like to express my
sincere appreciation and gratitude thanks to everyone for your time, prayers and

由于避免群聚,以往的活动如运动会、开放日和恳亲晚会也不能举办,但为了给毕业的学

我要特别感谢我们这一届的董事们的关怀与协助,为我们安装信义幼儿园的招牌,课室外

6.8 Lutheran Kindergarten & Financial Report Sister Mimi Yeoh
Due to pandemic in 2021, Ministry of Education mandated the kindergarten to be shut in
May/June 2021 as a measure to control the spread of COVID-19. During this period our
teachers worked tirelessly to deliver lesson via online resources with the help of parents
to minimise the impact of this disruption on learning progress. Since July 2021 the
government allowed the children of parents serving as frontliners to attend school and
the kindergarten reopened on the 12th of July with only 20 approved students.
The control put in place during this period to minimise the spread of COVID-19 was
particularly stringent. All teachers must be fully vaccinated and the facilities were
thoroughly cleansed and disinfected. Access to the school area was given to just
teachers and students and parents were only allowed to drop off and pick up at the gate.
Students were instructed to go through the recommended disinfection process before
entering the classroom and all belongings were not shared amongst students. The
stringent measures ended in November and the kindergarten operation returned to
normal.
Annual school events such as Sports Day, Open Day and Parents Day could not be
held during the year to avoid mass gathering. This was understandably disappointing for
students but the kindergarten team managed to conduct a graduation ceremony, where
the students had the chance to take graduation photos with parents and experienced a
drive-through parade to celebrate. The kindergarten was also grateful to receive a
significant amount of donation from a generous church member to support a scholarship
program which currently benefits 5 students.
I would like to express gratitude to our board for the newly installed signpost and the
floor tiles installed in the classroom corridor. Each teacher was also assigned with a
personal computer to help prepare lessons and a TV was installed in every classroom
to enhance the learning experience.
The pandemic had no doubt affected the students’ learning progress – the number of
enrolled students increased slightly to 30 by end of year. The challenges presented by
the pandemic are in fact daunting but we are confident that the kindergarten will
overcome all by the grace of God.
Yours In-Christ
Sister Mimi Yeoh Thien Khim
