Report from our President
June 2020
Well it’s been another month of quarantine and more of the same.
Things like barber shops are supposed to start opening up the first
week of June, we’ll see what happens. I don’t know about you,
but it’s been so long since I had a haircut, I feel like a sheep dog.
Now I see the Minnesota State Fair is cancelled for 2020 due to
the coronavirus.
Read an interesting article on MSN regarding all the businesses
that are expected to fail. One in particular referenced was Hertz
Rent-a-Car. Seems they are already starting to sell off some of
their high-performance 2019 Camaros and Corvettes and then
filed for bankruptcy. The Corvettes are 2019 special order Z06’s
based on the article. I won’t say they are bottom feeder priced at
this time for 2019’s (and are only in limited Hertz locations) but
I’m sure many perspective buyers can live with the prices posted.
Depending on Hertz bankruptcy plans, I expect a glutton of cars
could hit the used car market and could be some gems out there in
the near future for those in the market.
By the time this goes to print, 2020 Corvette production should be
resumed per an article I read. Thank goodness for small favors.
Haven’t had the car out much this year yet. Too many other
distractions going on. Hopefully things will allow us individually
and as a group to get together again.

Editors Report
As you can see we have a new cover this month. Both the front
and our sponsor advertisement on the back have images of the
new C8 Corvette. I would like to thank Dave Olson for his help in
getting the picture with all eight series pictured. I would also like
to thank Terry Wigginton for his efforts putting together the layout
design for the cover.
As the state allows businesses to open we can start planning events
including our Hamburger, Fries, & Catchup get togethers. The
first one is tentatively scheduled for August. Even though we
traditionally do these events the first Saturday of the month that is
not cast in stone. If the restaurants are allowed to open enough to
accommodate our group earlier someone could schedule an event
any Saturday later in June or July. If you are interested in chairing
an HFC contact Roger Dahlquist to put the event on the calendar
and notify the membership.
The club has not been able to offer the normal schedule of events
this year. As you review the meeting minutes you will see that the
Board of Directors has chosen to defer the increase in dues until
next year.

A Note from the National Corvette Museum June 6th 2020
Thinking of a 2021 C8 , not sure what color to go with, this may help you
decide:
At a recent presentation statistics were shared on the 2020 Corvettes that have
been ordered. To date, Torch Red is the most popular color at 25%, followed by
Arctic White at 15% and Black at 12%. Sebring Orange and Elkhart Lake Blue
are at 7%, Rapid Blue, Ceramic Matrix Gray, Blade Silver and Shadow Gray
are at 6%, Long Beach Red at 5%, and Accelerate Yellow and Zeus Bronze at
3%.
The team announced the two new colors for 2021, which you can check out
on their website. Silver Flare Metallic will replace Blade Silver (a color that
debuted on the 2009 model year) and Red Mist Tint Coat Metallic will replace
Long Beach Red (a color that debuted on the 2016 model year)

sored events in the Bucket Sheets or visit the Website.
Old Business:
● Member Planet payment of $300 and the Driver’s School
budget will be taken to the Membership at the June 16 virtual
meeting.
Minutes continued on next page
Page 21
Minutes continued from page 21
● Sue Griffin and Steve Heasley have researched Genius On-
line Software’s ability to provide a way for members to sign
up for events and work schedules. The have determined
that Member Planet has a similar function so they will not
go forward with Genius.
● 50th Anniversary shirts – Dave Olson reported that there is
no real need right now so it is not currently being pursued.
● Jim Bodin will look into the ad for the 50th Anniversary
event to make sure the ad is pulled from Blue Bars. It was
decided not to pursue replacing the ad with the Fall Color
Run flyer. The Fall Color Run is currently being listed on
the Midwest Region calendar. It was decided that would be
sufficient.
● Pat Bodin reported she is working with Keller Golf Course
attempting to secure a refund for the $650 brunch deposit
related to the 50th Anniversary event. Keller’s policy is
since we cancelled and if they are open to provide brunch
and we decide not to go then there will be no refund. If
Keller is not open we will then receive the refund. Pat will
look into the possibility of using the deposit money for a
brunch for club members (members will need to pay). Use
it or lose it scenario.
New Business:
● The chair people for ‘Cars Under the Stars’ have advised
Paul Hauschildt that they will not be doing the show. Dave
Olson will contact Matt Saxe Chevrolet to see if they want
us to do a car show this year. Per our agreement with Matt
Saxe Chevrolet we have committed to putting on one car
show annually.
● Discussion as to whether we want to use Microsoft Teams
or Zoom as a way to handle the June Membership meeting.
It was determined that Zoom will work better for our needs.
Page 22
● Ron Weeks made a motion to defer the membership dues
increase to September 2021 since the club has not been able
to provide the full calendar of events as a result of COVID 19
Coronavirus. Marie George seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
● Ron Weeks requested $245 needed to print covers for the
remainder of the year (through November). Steven Mael made
the motion with a second by Dave Olson. Motion approved.
The covers will display a new ad for Matt Saxe Chevrolet.
A motion to adjourn was made by Ron Weeks with a second by
Marty Buck. The meeting was adjourned at 8:21pm.
