Report from our President

December 2021

Greetings to all SCM members and friends.
December brings to close another trying yet very successful year for our club.
We entered 2021 with Covid restrictions our meetings being Zoomed, but
optimistic that “normal” was within sight. By early summer our optimism
paid off as we resumed in person meetings and once again gathered as friends,
a club prime objective. We successfully scheduled nearly a full season of
events encompassing two BIR Track Days, Cars Under the Stars, Fall Color
Run, and several exciting drives through scenic MN and WI. Thank you to
all who contributed.

The November meeting was highlighted by three significant events; our annual
financial review, club elections, and our annual donation to our club charity
Spina Bifida. Barb Stattman, acting treasurer, broke down our finances. SCM is
financially sound. Despite unfavorable weather for several events, club revenue
as a whole exceeded deficit. We thank those entrusted with our finances for their
diligence and all members and sponsors for their support. Elections were held
and we now have a new team of officers in place. We wish them great success.
We also thank the outgoing officers for guiding our club through two years like
none other. I especially want to thank Paul Hauschildt our now past president.
WELL DONE PAUL. Spina Bifida will again receive a substantial check from
SCM this year. Thank all of you. Your participation in club sponsored events,
raffles, and auctions support this great cause allowing more kids affected with
this condition to attend camp. Think about the kids!!

We still have two unfilled officer positions; Vice President and Public Relations.
You can contribute to the continued success of our club, your club, by
volunteering to fill one of these positions. All that is required is time.
Contact any board member or officer.

Finally, as your newly elected President speaking on behalf of the Officers
and Board Members, we will work diligently to make SCM the best it can
be with the realization that we can only be our best with your support.
And, we wish all a Joyous Holiday Season.

Ron Kabat
