Report from our President
September 2020
Another month has passed and time to
write again. We now have a member with
a C8 Corvette. I have not seen it but look forward to the time I
can. I’ve also read that the first C8 convertibles are starting to be
delivered. I’ve also read that the first issue has been identified and
apparently a recall has been issued on it. The front trunk can come
open while driving inadvertently and can cause issues with seeing
and possible body damage if it happens.
The middle of August we had some strong winds here at the house
that did cause some damage, I hope that everyone was able to
avoid them. I felt kind of sad when I had to have a tree service
come out and cut out part of a mature maple tree that snapped
but was still hanging in the tree. Then I went around the area and
saw all the trees down including a number on houses and garages.
Luckily, we had no damage to the house and garage, but not every-
one was so lucky in our area.
I don’t know about everyone but we have not had the Vette out
near as much as I’d hoped for this year. It seems like there’s
always something going on that prevents us from enjoying it as
much as I’d like. I don’t know how this fall is going to be, but
hopefully we will be able to get a new start next year and things
will be back to ‘normal’, but we’ll see. For now, at least, social
distancing is still the norm and appears to be continuing for some
time to come.
