Report from our President
August 2020
We had the photo session for the 50th
Anniversary picture to be published in
Blue Bars. I’d like to thank the 50+ cars
that showed up for the picture along with all the drivers and pas-
sengers that attended. I can’t say I’ve seen that many masked
people at any event since all this virus thing started. I’d also like
to thank Dave’s son for manning the drone and taking the pictures
along with Roger for coordinating the final details on the photo.
The riskiest thing I saw all night was when a flight of geese flew
over the cars, I waited to see if they were going to drop any little
gifts on us but they didn’t.
I was recently reminded that we will be having board elections in
a couple of months. In addition to board positions, there are also
many events that are looking for someone to chair. There are a
number of board positions that will be open due to the 2-year rule
so think about the ones you’d like to volunteer for during the fall
elections. Additionally, events like the Fall Color Run are look-
ing for someone to take over the respective events. Terry and
Joan Wigginton have already done quite a bit of groundwork on
the 2021 Fall Color Run but this is their last year of running it, it
needs for someone to take over where they’ve left off and finish
it off. With all the events this next year, there will be a need for
someone to chair along with volunteers to help put the various
events on. Now is the time to think about how you can help out
the club by volunteering for a board position, an event chair or
an event team member. With our 50th Anniversary events be-
ing deferred till 2021, we need your help making them events to
remember.

Old Business:
● Keller Golf Course refund from cancelled 50th Anniversary event -
Pat Bodin reported that she has talked with Keller Golf Course and
we must use the $625 deposit money related to the 50th Anniversary
event or lose it. Pat has tentatively scheduled a luncheon after the
Autumn Cruise. Keller will provide a plated lunch and set up a bar
in a ballroom that would normally hold 100 people. Board dis-
cussion ensued and it was agreed that a plated lunch and one drink
ticket per person at $30 each for 50 – 60 people would fulfill the
$1,500 minimum requirement. She will need RSVP and electronic
pre-registration using pay pal two weeks prior to the event.
● Membership laptop status – Steve Heasley reported. He needs an
operating system for the laptop and feels he can refurbish it for use
by a new secretary by the end of the year. He doesn’t see the need
to purchase a replacement laptop at this time.
● Facebook page – Steve Heasley is still working on it. We may have
to set up a new facebook page for the club if he can’t determine who
has the login password for our account.
● Fall Color Run cancellation – Roger Dahlquist reported that he has
received an e-mail from Joan Wigginton stating that she is getting
ready to send out a postcard notification of the cancelled Fall Color
Run to all non-members. She also advised that Onalaska Park had
sent a refund for the 2020 event. Barb Stattman stated she had
received the refund.
● When to resume physical board and membership meetings. Paul
Hauschildt reported that Jimmy’s is not giving us any conditions on
when we need to return. They are still willing to work with us.
Page 20
New Business:
● Conditions for membership when a new car is purchased from Saxe
by a non-member. Conversation ensued. Membership is condition-
al on the individual participating in three events which may include
membership meetings. They must be voted in by the membership,
pay their dues and then will be eligible for dues reimbursement.
● Jim Bodin made a motion to send $100 to Dave Olson’s son for
taking the 50th Anniversary SCM photo with a second by Steve
Heasley. Motion approved.
● Dave Benner made a motion to approve reimbursement of $160.58
for a one year subscription purchase for Zoom with a second by
Barb Stattman. Zoom was needed to conduct the August Board
meeting. Motion passed. Reimbursement will be provided to Steve
Heasley.
● Membership Renewals – Marie George reported that on line pay-
ment for renewals will done using Member Planet. Payment by
check will also be accepted. The renewal form is on the website.
Marie is working to set up notification for renewal and late notices
30 days after the September meeting. A final late notice will be
scheduled for November 15 to include late fee. If not paid mem-
bership will be dropped 65 days from the September membership
meeting.
● Marie wants to put a notice in Bucket Sheets stating that member-
ship dues are due in September. Marie will provide notice to Ron
Weeks for inclusion in the Bucket Sheets newsletter.
● List of Club software applications – Gloria Weeks suggested that
the Board create a master list of all software applications with
expiration dates and estimated cost with intent to go to membership
for approval when needed 2 – 3 months prior to payment due date.
Waiting until the meeting before the payment due date will not
work if we have a meeting in which we do not have a quorum. Paul
Hauschildt and Steve Heasley will look into compiling a list.
A motion to adjourn was made by Roger Dahlquist with a second by
Dave Olsom. The meeting was adjourned at 8:47pm.
