• Choosing the right school influences the price you pay
– You can attend a community or university college
Apply for Scholarships and College
Grants
• Scholarships give money for education through skill sets
– Sports, service, ethnicity, and academic achievements
• This money comes from the universities and colleges themselves
• Perfect scores on test such as the SAT or ACT will open the door
for scholarships
• Grants are come from your state, the federal government and
colleges.
• Grants are based on your families financial circumstance
• Your college choice determines the grant you are eligible for
Federal and Private students loans
• Federal student loans are loans made or guaranteed by the
Department of Education.
– Lower fixed interest rates
– This does not require a credit check
– You can postpone payment for up to 3 years
• Private or non-federal student loans are any other type of
student loans.
– Many private lenders
– Interest may not be tax deductible.
– You may need a cosigner.

• This organization helps to ensure that college students who really
need money get jobs.
– Gives jobs to undergraduate and graduate students with financial needs
so they can become educated yet working people

• Honors programs and colleges offer many opportunities to
make the most of their higher education.

• Can help qualifying workers pay for college and advanced
training.
