RGF Partners With Home Depot IAQ Product Line

RGF has partnered with Home Depot to provide our IAQ
products through an extensive network of national con-
tractors. The best part of this program is Home Depot
will not sell our products, but promote and refer us
to their HVAC contactors.

Great news for all of our sales partners. We are now set up as a na-
tional IAQ partner with The Home Depot working with the contractors
that are in the stores. This national account is a win-win for everyone
who is involved in distribution and sales with RGF. We have an agree-
ment with Home Depot to work with their in-store AC providers to pro-
vide the best in IAQ solutions. There are 330 contractors within their
network dealing with their 2,300 locations and over 300,000 employees.
We have been busy building displays for each store.

RGF In Food Engineering Magazine

Food Engineering did a major article on RGF’s Photohydroionization or PHI.
Food Engineering is the New York Times of the food industry. Getting a glowing
review from them is like The Golden Grail! Below are some of their findings.
• The PHI Disinfection Process combines several non-chemical, non-penetrat-
ing radiation which together can effectively kill harmful micro-organisms in food,
air and water.
• The PHI Process, developed by RGF, has been approved by the USDA, FDA
and FSIS. PHI can reduce contaminants on surfaces by more than 99%
• The RGF catalyst reacts with UV light to create molecules called Hydroperox-
ides which sanitizes its surface and the air surrounding it. This process is safer
than ozone generators.

New For 2014 Next Generation REME and PHI

Guardian Air REME HALO Guardian Air QR+ PHI

RGF is introducing in 2014 the next generation of the Guardian Air REME and Guardian Air PHI In Duct Air Purification

Units. The REME HALO now has an adjustable shroud surrounding the REME Cell, which allows the adjustment of the

Advanced Oxidation Plasma output. The outer housing has also been updated to be more efficient as the air flows around

it in the HVAC plenum. Another new feature, which was developed on both the REME HALO and PHI units, is a twist lock

system that allows the electronics housing or head to be removed along with the Cell without having to remove the

mounting flange from the plenum. This feature will make changing out the REME or PHI Cell much easier for the techni-

cian. The new versions of the REME and PHI units will be available this Spring.

RGF’s Award Winning Technology Honored Again

Once again RGF has been honored with not just one, but two
awards for its cutting edge technologies. RGF received two Dealer
Design Technology Awards for the Mini-Split and the PHI PTAC
units. These units were designed for specific applications in the
HVAC industry. The Mini Split unit was engineered for the HVAC
units commonly found in hotel and motel rooms where space inside
the unit is at a premium. Therefore, RGF designed a unit which is
attached externally providing the same benefits as our in duct sys-
tems. The PTAC Unit is a compact PHI system designed to fit inside
PTAC and ETAC HVAC systems. Although it was not the first time,
it is very rare for a company to receive two awards in the same year.

Blount Island Project Completed

In April 2013 RGF Environmental Group, Inc. completed a two year project to provide and install a Washrack
at the new Marine Corps Support Facility at Blount Island, Jacksonville, Florida. The system design
included high pressure wash stations, heavy solids removal de-mucking system, as well as an under-
carriage spray wash. All wash water is collected, filtered and re-used again in the wash process after
undergoing an oxidation step for destruction of organics. Recycling water from equipment and vehicle
washing prevents soil and ground water contamination, as well as promoting water conservation.

Military standards call
for a quick turn around
when equipment arrives from overseas de-
ployment. All equipment, including person-
nel carriers, support vehicles as well as
tanks, must be thoroughly cleaned. Blount
Island has had an RGF recycling system in
use for many years at their old facility. The
new facility will be used on an ongoing
basis for the daily washing of base vehicles
and equipment utilizing a portion of the sys-
tem, and the entire system will then be ac-
tivated for heavy wash events.
The project was completed on schedule
with the approval of all involved parties.

How to Sell IAQ Products and Services

Using RGF’s Rapid Recovery Unit

RGF’s Rapid Recovery Unit (RRU) is a remediation product that uses RGF’s PHI technology to
quickly reduce microbes and odors by using a much higher concentration of Hydro-Peroxides Plasma
than our standard Guardian Air Unit. This allows users to offer remediation services for IAQ problems and
demo PHI technology to end users interested in purchasing.
A key factor in how to promote the RRU system is operating cost. The RRU is available for approximately $1,700 and
has a cell life of 10,000 hours, putting the operating cost per hour of use at only $0.17. This low operating cost means the
machine has the potential to generate huge profit margins, as long as you find ways to use it.

Below we will outline some of the ways the RRU can be used to this end:

1. Performing remediation service (up to $100/hour revenue - $0.17+ labor/hour cost)
The RRU can be used to reduce one-time problems and be billed at an hourly rate for the service. Many
remediation professionals charge $100 per hour and more for the service. The RRU can treat a hotel room
(10x15x10) in about one hour depending on the strength of the odors. They are used by the major hotel and
restaurant chains worldwide.
One point to keep in mind is that any kind of ongoing odor will come back after you have finished treatment.
The RRU is designed to reduce the airborne odor molecules, but you have to eliminate the source of the odor.
The RRU will eliminate the following odors: pets, mold, smoke, floods, heating oil, apartment turnover, paint,
solvents, VOCs, cooking, urine, feces, dead animals, tobacco and cleaning fluids.

2. Adding value with “Duct Sanitation” along with your standard duct cleaning
Duct cleaning works on the physical particles that settle in the duct. Duct sanitation works on the microbes,
mold spores and other contaminants that can be found in old ducts. Using the RRU to add duct sanitation to
your current duct cleaning business can differentiate you from the competition, or can be used with an upsell
model to generate more revenue.

Example:
a.“Would you like to add duct sanitation to your cleaning today for only $50?”

b.“We offer a duct cleaning and sanitation for the same price, the competition only does cleaning.

c.The RRU will eliminate chemical odors if you use chemicals for cleaning drip pans, coils or air ducts.

3. Demonstrating PHI Technology
Whether you are in a home for an HVAC, duct cleaning or plumbing lead, you can demo the technology and
use it to sell Guardian Air units. Homeowners don’t know what their house smells like; the nose adjusts to its
surroundings over time. By running the RRU units for a customer, you are demonstrating two things. One,
you show how the PHI process can actually make a noticeable difference in the air quality. Two, once you
turn off the RRU, the normal household smells will start to creep back in, and this time the homeowner will
notice them because their nose has adjusted to the new purified air. Here are a few ways to perform the
demo:
a. Having your technicians put on shoe covers and walk on paper to keep your customer’s house clean, purifying

their air for free when you perform an equipment service is another way to show that you care about your customer’s en-
vironment, and you set yourself apart from the competition. With the RRU’s low operating cost, you could demo it at
thousands of houses, and if you sold only five (5) more Guardian Air units, it pays for itself.
b. If you are concerned about purifying the air without asking your customer, you can use the RRU as a great way to

start talking about IAQ.
“We are offering a free air purification service now if you’re interested. This brochure shows how the
technology works, and I can purify all the air in your home while I’m here. We also offer the same technology
installed so you can get the benefits every day.”

Once your technicians and sales people are well versed in basic IAQ sales and concepts,
adding something like the RRU to their sales process can be a strong tool to help close
the sale. With its low operating cost and many uses, the RRU can be another way
your company increases revenue from Indoor Air Quality.

For more ideas or to talk about some specific ways to build the RRU into your IAQ
sales process, please contact your RGF Representative.

Excerpt from The Palm Beach Post – Monday, February 17, 2014

RGF Environmental Group sells equipment
to purify air, water and food worldwide

Susan Salisbury Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

RIVIERA BEACH – Salmonella, E.coli, listeria and other similar terms have
become unpleasantly familiar to consumers in the past few years as they
learn of yet another outbreak of foodborne illness in the nation’s food supply.

RGF Environmental Group, based in Riviera Beach, has been producing a
patented food sanitizing system for about 15 years and is experiencing a
boost in business as more food processors seek its highly specialized equip-
ment, said Bill Svec, RGF’s vice president of water and food products.

Recently, RGF introduced an upgraded version of its PHI technology, short
for photohydroionization. With its tunnel-style stainless steel construction, it
treats all exposed meat surfaces resulting in a 99.9 percent reduction in bacteria, viruses and mold and also increases shelf
life.

The technology spans across water, indoor air and food purification systems. No matter what the application, it is based on
the same basic concept that uses ultraviolet light emitters and oxidation. UV light and ozone react with a catalyst that pro-
duces hydro peroxides. The bacteria is destroyed.

RGF’s founder, CEO and president Ron Fink started the company in 1985 after working for a contractor in the nuclear plant
industry. Svec, who worked with Fink in the nuclear industry, has been with the company since its inception.

Food companies such as beef, chicken, fish or pork processors purchase RGF’s systems ranging from $50,000 to
$400,000 and run their products through them before the items are ground or packaged.

Dr. James Marsden, a professor of food safety and security at Kansas State University, said RGF’s modular tunnel is the
most effective system he has reviewed, and the process does not affect the products’ taste or appearance.

Ask Fink how the company got started, and the story goes back to 1962 when as a 10th grader in New Jersey his entry
won in a state science fair. His project involved shining UV light on fluorescent minerals. “Two suits came up to me and said,
‘What are you going to do when you get out of high school?’ They said, ‘Come see us when you graduate,’” Fink said.

The men in suits were from the federal Defense Intelligence Agency. Fink became a technician and tested nuclear weapons
in Nevada. After receiving a mechanical engineering degree, he worked for nuclear power construction firms. He came to
Florida in 1982 and installed the reactor vessels at Florida Power and Light Co.’s St. Lucie Plant. “I decided nuclear was
going nowhere due to Three Mile Island and started my own company,” Fink said.

RGF’s first job was cleaning and recycling water used to wash Waste Management’s trucks and trash bins. It’s second proj-
ect was cleaning oily water used on the City of West Palm Beach’s trucks.

RGF’s air purifying systems, installed in the air conditioning ducts, are its biggest segment, with demand from China a big
part of that. The Chinese government used RGF’s systems to help prevent the spread of Severe Acute Respiratory Syn-
drome (SARS) and Avian flu.

It’s newest product is an air purifying unit that fits in a car’s cup holder. It’s on display in the company’s Lamborghini, an
electric car known as the “Lamborgreenie.”

The product billed as “like a flu shot for your car” will be shipped to Asia and also will be sold in the United States in about
three months.

RGF INSTALLS SYSTEM AT TURTLE CENTER

Grand Cayman Island

One of the major attractions on Grand Cayman Island is the

Turtle Farm! Unfortunately, turtles cannot be potty trained so

they tend to make the water kind of messy!

Grand Cayman is one of the world’s premier diving locations

and divers do not like diving in turtle’s stuff!! No one has ever

done a turtle poop job, so our design team got creative and

came up with an Advanced Oxidation Centrifigal Fractionator

with a solar dryer and PHI disinfection. We built a prototype.

The goal was to reach a 50% reduction in BOD with one pass.

Our unit hit 77% reduction!! Another job well done by your

friendly RGF men of action!
