Who Love Their Community
Tipton students enjoy a field trip to the
Cosmosphere, thanks to the generosity
of Keith and Debra Houghton.
Fundholders Keith & Debra Houghton share what their fund at the
community foundation means to them:
“We saw a need for the kids to see what was going on outside our beloved Tipton!
I was visiting with a high school student one evening and I said, ‘The International
Space Station flies over us tonight! Let’s go see!’ The student said, ‘What space
station?’ I was astounded that the kids didn’t know of the STEM advancement of
our international space community! The station has been occupied for 20 years!
And so, we started a fund with the idea that the kids would go to the Cosmosphere
and learn about space technology every two to three years, with other field trips
interspersed to help round out their experience outside our community, and see
what is out there for them to explore!”

Who Share Their Gifts
In November, the community foundation hosted a joint Business After Hours
with the Beloit Area Chamber of Commerce to celebrate Match Month and
recognize recent grant recipients.
Match Month Success
Through a month-long gift matching initiative in November 2018, the
community foundation raised over $130,000 for community grants and
operations. During Match Month, donors make gifts to the community
foundation to support community grants. These gifts are then matched at 150%
by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation. The matching dollars support community
grants and operations.

Over the last three years, our Match
