PREFACE

“The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the
realist adjusts the sails.”
Sometime we get stuck and think that this is the end but some changes are blessing in
disguise. When this pandemic started to intrude in our lives we were baffled but at the
same time we learnt that this is the new normal and accepted this change with open
arms.
All we have to fear is fear itself. We at KCIS tried and tested our limitations and
realized that imagination has no limitations.
E-Newsletter in this pandemic has become a medium to showcase how our children
are now the part of ‘Survival of the fittest’ and we thought of embarking on a new
journey to explore more and more.
We request you to enjoy the journey we have covered in the last four months that
would force you to acknowledge the efforts of the Management, teachers and
students as we are shouldered with the responsibility of nurturing and bringing up the
young seedlings.
‘Reverberation:Volume-1’is an amalgam of plethora of activities which we carried out
to give platform to students for a holistic development.
We wish you a pleasant viewing experience!!!!!!

KC International school plays vital role in the life of young students
learning to enhance their knowledge, makes them wise and
inculcates values at the very outset of schooling years is indeed

and believe in the saying ‘Where there is a will, there is a way’.
So through this E- Newsletter ‘Reverberation: Volume-1’, we bring
forth the various events date wise that took place in the last four
months so that you can witness a sea change in the approach of

Message from the desk of Dean Academics Ms. Arti Sharma
Dean Academics
“The Joy of life comes from our encounters with new experience, and hence there is no greater
joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”

Amid the doom and gloom of Covid-19, an inescapable scenario started to haunt every aspect of life.
Worrisome was it, perhaps never got imagined in the modern era. Prim faces, loads of thoughts were
targeted to this malice as manmade and many more.
In such chaos, the KC International School though in a fix has had the say to reach out to the nation
builders. As established mode of imparting education got disrupted and discontinued; we an institution
exercised virtual platform.
Education and wellbeing is our priority in this survival mode. Our teachers are frontline caregivers
who have exhibited remarkable resilience, sacrifice and commitment in reaching out to the students
using phone calls and deploying digital technology.
Within no times we chose to be best from the rest and embarked on a new journey and became a hub
of plethora of activities where scholastic and co-scholastic is being taken care of with outmost sincerity.
Virtual assembly in the morning followed by learning sessions, subject- enrichment activities, Panel
discussions, Inter School Competition, the practical's carrying out from school labs are nothing less
than what we would do in school before pandemic. Assuming loaded and monotonous, ‘SHARE YOUR
HEART OUT SESSION’ is too conducted for purification and purgation of emotions.
Acceptance of the inevitable has never brought us to halt at one place. From Pre Primary to Grade 12,
each faculty member is prepared to meet the challenges and working diligently to provide helping
hands to students.
We feel that the role of each pillar is very important, be it the positive reinforcement of the
management, the absolute support of the parents, the untiring spirits of the teachers and indefatigable
efforts of our very own dear students.
We believe that we would sail through this also and this too shall pass. I would conclude by saying “It is
only in our darkest hours that we may discover the true strength of the brilliant light within ourselves
that can never ever, be dimmed.”

Message from the desk of Headmistress Ms. Poonam Bhagat
Headmistress
“Change is the only constant.”

Never before has this saying been truer than the present time. And nothing has
undergone a tremendous change as the education system of our country. However,
technology has been providing the ray of hope over the last four months. Jumping into the
digital education bandwagon was the only way to have our students connected with their
education. So, to ensure they do not miss out on their studies because of the interruptions
caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we straight away moved classes online via
WHATSAPP and announced the commencement of Academic Year 2020-21. Teachers
were ready with their structured plan which did not suffocate or burden students,
especially Pre-Primary and Primary. As the education over WHATSAPP was
progressing, the School Management and the Principal, realizing the needs of students
decided to go one step ahead by swiftly shifting to Google Classrooms to continue
teaching-learning process. Thus, teachers and students entered into a new world of live
lectures, worksheets, Google forms, PPTs and so forth. Initially, Virtual teaching-
learning, of course posed a challenge to students and teachers but we, the team KCIS
overcame all the hindrances and embraced the Covid-19 pandemic as a blessing in
disguise. From coping to improving and accelerating, our teachers were equipped with
laptops, supported with online training and webinars and actionable guidance at regular
basis. They are evolving practical & student-centered approaches, methods, strategies and
techniques to help their students in every possible way. Talking particularly about
Primary wing we know that students’ interest in online classes can be sustained only with
a mix of hands on activities, worksheet and interactive sessions. So, the lessons for our
students at Primary level are a reflection of integrated different engaging activities.
Finally yet importantly, I truly and highly appreciate our parents for playing a big role in
making virtual learning work. They’ve totally just stepped up to it and lent a hand
throughout. Thank you, dear parents.

Message from the desk of Activity Coordinator Ms. Rajni Malhotra
Activity Coordinator
“Pandemic can stop our physical movement but not the movement of our creative minds”

Although it has stopped us meeting our students and colleagues but it cannot stop us
doing activities at our own level. It is rightly said that “when one door closes another
opens “so we should not be disheartened, instead we should have the courage to fight the
odds.
This session has begun with a new terminology - ‘Lock Down’. Initially we all were scared
and shocked as if somebody has closed our ways of learning and teaching, but it could not
stop us for a longer period; as we, the faculty members of KC International School started
surfing for new ways of teaching while sitting at home. I can proudly say this statement
that we were the first one who started online teaching learning process. We not only
focused on academics, but also did not leave any stone unturned in making activity classes
successful through online platform. The virtual mode of taking evening activities was
really a new experience or rather experiment for teachers as well as students. But it gives
me immense pleasure to say that it is really going very well and are liked by students as
well as parents. Teachers are feeling connected and are happy to see their students. The
students are sharing their videos with activity teachers and are so keen to attend the
classes that they join the classes early and don’t even want to exit even after the given
time period. Our teachers are taking Yoga, Music, Dance, Art, Taekwondo, Judo, Aerobics,
Library and Health classes.
KCIS is organizing online competitions as well where students are participating in various
activities which is organized by the School or other Schools and organizations. KCIS has
organized Yoga, Music, Dance and Art competition time to time and many more are in pipe
line. We are conducting virtual assemblies also where all students are actively
participating.
As an Activity Coordinator, I follow the philosophy of our management who always
encourage us and says “Do your best and forget the Rest”.
At last, I also take this opportunity to thank the parents of our students for having
bestowed their faith and confidence in us. Your faith is our driving force.

Message from the desk of Pre-Primary Coordinator Ms. Ameet Kaur
Pre-Primary Coordinator
“Education ‘s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one.”

In these trying times , I am obliged to be working closely with teams of
dedicated teachers, educators, and school leaders having a shared
passion for meeting the education needs of every child. Switching to
online platform for teaching, , l came to realize much about the dynamic
nature of online education and the potential it has to accelerate
individualized learning. Online teaching isn't "easier" or "harder"; it is
simply different, requiring a different mindset for both teachers and
students alike. Thank God for technology, that I have been meeting
"virtually" with students where they were. More importantly, it would be
safe to say that their increased engagement led to significant
improvements in their academic performance. It takes a high level of
engagement and commitment for students to succeed in online schools. I
would like to take this opportunity to specifically thank and appreciate
the parents for their cooperation and sincere efforts throughout. I
believe, interactions between colleagues and students in online schools
must be purposeful, active, and ongoing — thanks to amazing teachers
I've had the privilege of working with over the years, both online and
face-to-face. Kudos to all of us!

Message from the desk of Middle-Wing Coordinator Ms. Sonal Gupta
Middle –Wing Coordinator
Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an
activity, but in doing it.”

Dear all,
I would like to send you my best wishes at this difficult time. The spread of the
COVID-19 virus is having unprecedented effects. People have lost loved ones
and fear for their families. At the same time this crisis has changed the way
many of us have to live our lives and we don’t know for how long that will
continue. Everywhere, however, I see a sense of solidarity and togetherness to
get through this.
I think we will all have to be flexible and realistic about how our plans may
well be affected in this important year but let’s try and see what is possible. We
may not be able to work, teach, interact with our dear students in the way we
might like for the foreseeable future but our aims remain the same. We,
together as a team can overcome any hurdle. We won’t let any situation to
become a barricade between the teaching-learning process.
This is the moment we are called to be our best selves in tune with the vision
and mission of learning. The virus has prompted all of us to gain a heightened
self-awareness. I am sure all of us have been practicing social distancing,
physical distancing and coming together on social media for teaching and
learning, boosting conversations and sharing. This is the best way to counter
the pandemic.

Stay home; Stay safe!

KCites Celebrate EARTH DAY!!

Each year the 22nd of April is celebrated as the
Earth Day. It is celebrated to create awareness
about protecting our planet and preserving the
environment. Saving water, reducing pollution,
protecting the wildlife, plants and trees, recycling
waste are just a few means to saving our
environment.
Our young generation can make a significant
contribution in saving the environment. It is the
right time for children to learn about the
environment, how they can preserve it and why.
Starting early can truly make a difference and
inculcate habits they will carry on as they grow.
Teaching our enthusiastic KCites about Earth Day
was fun through online teaching activities where
kids were taught to plant seeds, making patterns
of old newspapers (Reuse/recycle) , colouring
mother earth pictures and creating cute globes
with clay dough and many more. Not only the
KCites but their parents also participated with
full zeal and made this day a truly a remarkable
one.
In this hard time, we all have felt how nature can
destroy life if taken for granted. This is an
alarming situation where we all need to re-
evaluate our actions and consequences, it is the
right time to restore the nature back to keep our
species alive. We all would have to join hands to
save earth so that our children could enjoy being
on it. So let us start educating our children to
celebrate everyday as Earth Day.

" ACTIVITY IN HINDI BY STUDENTS of GRADE VII”

No wonder children are the future. They know how to get the Best out of nothing. Same was
showcased by the students of Grade-VII during their activity in Hindi under the guidance of
their teacher Mrs. Rajni Malhotra. They made their own version of Robot from the waste
materials available at home.

Activity In Science Performed By Grade-VIII Students

Faced with an unprecedented situation as has never been seen by today's generation, it was really a daunting task
to get the children derive a semblance of positivity and especially in an environment which was alien to them. But
there always exist ways and means which propels the children to come up with innovative designs showcasing
their remarkable aptitude. Here we can see children have made various models and drawings using waste
material exemplifying the true spirit of flexibility, learning ,variety by stimulating their inner motivation. Activities
like these can be a deterrent to isolation drawback and it surely directs us to a conclusion that positivity and
inquisitiveness can flourish in these testing times .The above activity was conducted by Ms. Sonal(Middle Wing
Coordinator & TGT Science).

No lockdown can stop the
creativity of young minds....

KCIS conducted online 'Music and Dance
Festival' for the students of classes 1 to 9
on the occasion of Mother’s Day.
Love as powerful as mother's for you
leaves its own mark.
Nothing is as special as love of one's
mother.
In view of COVID-19 pandemic era, our
students put up a mother child duo dance
performance online.
Our children also performed solo- dance
depicting the love of a mother.
Mothers are only second to God and there
could be no one like her, the message was
promoted through music, where children
sang their hearts out. The music and dance
teachers, Mr. Michael and Mr. Vikas guided
the children in their best possible ways to
make this competition even more special.
The management thanked all our children
and their beautiful and hardworking
moms for putting up a great show.

KCIS conducted

Orientation Programme for Grade XI

new students

A virtual meet was organized by the Section- In-
charge Grade XI, Mr. Ankush Sharma today. The meet
was presided over by honourable Principal, Ms.
Anupama Sinha and Dean- Academics Ms. Arti
Sharma. Mrs. Tusharika Mahajan was the main
speaker and other attendees were the faculty
members who teach Class 11. The main objective of
meeting was to interact with the Parents and
Students who are new to KCIS. Parents were guided
about the virtual platform being used by school for
teaching learning process. The main highlight of the
session was the participation of toppers of Class 10
who shared their strategies through which they got
positions. Children were congratulated for their
tremendous success in Grade XI. Class-In-charges
threw light on the various fields which children can
opt by choosing various streams. Teachers made this
clear to the parents that now their children can opt
for many other fields rather than going for common
options like MBBS or Engineering. It is the foremost
duty of teachers to make their teaching effective for
the benefit of children, so they would surely adopt
the new technical ways. Besides this Dean Academic
shared her views on the gravity of this time and
urged that the children should talk to their parents
and teachers. As Grade XI is the foundation for their
careers so children were asked to be earnest and
attentive. In the end, students concerns were well
attended by all the teachers and the meeting ended
with a thank you note given by Dean Academics.
