JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAMS

The 2020 Junior Golf Programs at Town & Country are designed to be FUN and inclusive for every age
level. We promote good sportsmanship, proper etiquette, the rules of golf and learning golf ’s basic
fundamentals. Our goal is to lay the foundation for enjoyment of a game that will last a lifetime.

SHORT GAMERS (AGES 4-7)

Cost: $75 per session
Short Gamers is a FUN way to introduce golf to your child. We use real clubs (clubs are available if

needed) emphasizing putting, chipping, hand-eye coordination & etiquette.

Day One focuses on fundamental skill building, small group instruction & video analysis. Day Two

continues with fundamentals, etiquette & on-course play. The final day concludes with skills
challenges, basic rules of golf and an award ceremony.

August 4th - 6th from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

INDIVIDUAL JUNIOR LESSONS

Some kids learn best in a one-on-one setting. Private golf lessons are available from any golf
professional and can be structured to meet your child’s needs. Please contact the professional of your

choice for packages and rates.

JUNIOR PLAYERS LEAGUE (AGES 7-17)

Thursday Mornings (4 & 9 Hole Leagues)

Cost: $85 (Club Championship Entry & Tee Gift Included)
This league is designed to get your child out on the golf course. We have a 4-hole, 9-hole & 18-hole
league (the staff pairs each week and a scramble format is played). The professional staff stresses

sportsmanship, etiquette and teaches basic rules on the course.
Parent volunteers are strongly encouraged!

JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP (AGES 7-17)

Cost: $25 (No charge if you are in the Junior Players League)
The Junior Club Championship will feature 4-hole, 9-hole & 18-hole divisions. The 18-holers will tee off
first, followed by the 9-hole players, then the 4-holers. Lunch and an awards ceremony will follow play

where trophies will be presented to the top finishers (lowest gross score) in each division.

PGA JR. LEAGUE (13 & UNDER)

Cost: $300
This is a program for girls and boys ages 13 and under. Town and Country will form a “team” of 8-12

players. The juniors will play 9-holes divided into 3-hole segments which will allow players to be
switched in and out so all kids can play. The format is a 2-person scramble (match play) against

another team from another club.

The PGA JLG consists of a 4-6 week regular season, with 2-3 home matches and 2-3 away competitions
against other PGA JLG teams in our league.

Participants will receive team jerseys, golf balls, PGA JLG bag tag, “Flag” stickers to decorate golf bag,
and 4-6 regular season competitions PLUS six practice sessions with a golf pro.

JUNIOR TENNIS

Welcome to the Town & Country Club Tennis Program for the summer of 2020. The following pages
will give you information on junior drills, private and group lessons and tennis events. We hope that
you will find a variety of tennis activities that will suit your child’s needs. We will gladly outfit your
child with the appropriate tennis equipment for their needs. We look forward to meeting every one of

REGISTRATION POLICIES

1. Cancellations 24 hours prior to the start of a session will receive a full refund.
2. Cancellations after the start of session will be charged for drill classes prior to cancellation.
3. There are no make-ups, refunds or credits for missed drills (due to illness, etc.), but you can make
them up in a different session or a different class time with Head Pro or Assistant Pro permission.

GROUP TENNIS DRILL CLASSES

Classes are based on age and ability. If you are not sure what class to enroll your child in, the
Tennis Staff will be glad to assist. We have records of children’s past tennis classes at T&C.

Throughout the session, children may be moved to provide greater challenges. The following
classes run in sessions (3 weeks long). You may choose one, two, or three sessions based on what

works for your children’s schedule.

This class is 20 minutes long for the little ones that Player has completed 1 or 2 years of young hitters or

ABOUT T&C SWIMMING

Programs are designed to continue to refine and improve technique, endurance and love for the sport. 
We offer two different age group training programs for boys and girls ages 6 - 15
 

***Due to safety and numbers, swimmers must come to their age group practice, older swimmers cannot
attend younger practice and younger swimmers cannot attend older practice.  To many different age
groups at one practice and the number of swimmers in the pool create a safety concern for everyone.

ABOUT THE COACH

Head Coach: Andrew Michelson
Andrew has been working with the swim program at Town and Country Club since the summer

of 2008.  He was a swimmer at Gustavus Adolphus College.  He is currently the head coach of
the Eagan High School Girls’ and Assistant Coach at Rosemount High School Boys’.  He has had

multiple section champions, a state champion as well as multiple top 8 finishes at the
Minnesota Class AA State Swim Meet.

SWIM TEAM POLICIES

Weather Cancellations
Sometimes it’s cold early in the season in the mornings and other days it’s rainy. We will try to hold practice everyday
we can. If for some instance we cannot, an email will be sent out to all families. On days when the clubhouse is open

members can call the front desk or the pool office.

How often should I come to practice?
We love to see swimmers everyday we have practice! Coming daily is the best way to ensure success.
However, we understand that it is summer and kids are at camp and families take vacations. Please come everyday

you can.

What is the best way to communicate with the coaches?
The best way to communicate with the coach is through email. Andrew will try and get back to you as soon as

possible. There will be a calendar on the Town and Country Club Website under aquatics>swim team.

Do I have to participate in meets?
Yes, you are expected to participate in meets. We love when swimmers come out for the sport and we want to give

them the full experience, that includes participating in swim meets.
