March has arrived at the Club! Finally.
Mother Nature delivered quite a Winter punch in February.
Despite the cold and snowy weather, many of us added extra layers of winter clothes and took
advantage of our golf course by means of cross county skiing, snow shoeing or sledding. We also had
a successful Medallion Hunt with congratulations due the Sexton’s for deciphering the clues and
braving the elements!
Our annual shutdown is complete with a good deep-cleaning of the building and installation of our
new golf simulator. Make sure you get your golf groups together and reserve a tee time. The staff has
created a wonderful space in our lower level, off the main lobby, to enjoy food and refreshments
while you get that golf swing ready for the upcoming season. I would like to give a special thank you
to our fellow member Scott Skroupa for donating his time to help bring this added amenity to the
Town & Country Club.
As many of us are counting down the days until Spring Break, our staff is busy preparing for an
exciting spring and summer season at the Club. I know it seems like winter will never end but Junior
Sports signup is just around the corner and Golf, Tennis and our swimming programs have been
working together to prepare for a busy schedule of fun for all.
I would like to update you on our progress of our Strategic Plan and ask for your help.
Our Plan is focused on the member experience and to that end, it is time that we formally hear from
you. We want to know what you expect, want and need. Our last survey was completed in 2014.
Since then we have seen an increase in new members and many new faces on our staff. In addition,
some of us that have been here for many years may have different needs and expectations from the
club than in the past.
In any event, it is important to hear from you to make sure we keep our Club going in the right
direction for our future. In the next few weeks we will provide more details on the survey.
Hang in there. Spring is on its way! See you at the Club.

At this point it looks like “Old Man Winter” wants to stay around for a while, but I’m sure Spring is on the
way. The club shutdown went well. Everything received a thorough cleaning. In addition, we completed a
few additional projects. The most notable is the McCree Corner Simulator located in the lower level lobby.
You can make reservations through the T&C website by selecting the golf tab and going to Golf Simulator.
Tee times are booked in one hour increments up to 4 hours for any reservations. This “Adult Only” space will
be a wonderful place to work on your golf swing, join friends for a round of golf, or just come and socialize
with other members over a cocktail. We also installed 16 wine lockers for members to keep their wines at the
club. We only have three wine lockers available at this time, so if you want to reserve one, please call and let
us know.
The programming committee has planned a variety of events for the membership this year.
The following is a list of upcoming events:
Friday, March 8, 2019 – Welcome Back Wine Tasting & Parent’s Night Out
Tuesday, March 12, 2019 – Kid’s Welcome Back Party & Comedy Show
Thursday, March 21, 2019 – Adult Trivia
Sunday, April 7, 2019 – Junior Sports Sign-Up & Ice Cream Social
Sunday, April 21, 2019 – Easter Brunch
Friday, April 26, 2019 – Parent’s Night Out
Please R.S.V.P. as early as possible and remember that our programming events have a 48 hour
cancellation policy. If you make a reservation and do not cancel within 48 hours, you will be billed for
your reservation.
As we start a new season, perhaps a reminder about clubhouse etiquette is warranted. We have found
unattended children in many areas of the club, such as the Ladies Locker Room, the Fitness Center and the
Banquet Rooms where they could get hurt or cause mischief. Although we want the children to enjoy the club
and all of its amenities, we also must be mindful of other members and guests dining at the club. Please do not
let your children use the hallways and dining rooms as a place to play. I believe this will make the dining
experience much more enjoyable and safe for everyone.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the club.
