INFECTIOUS DISEASES
◦ THERE ARE MANY KILLER DISEASES IN
MALAYSIA SUCH AS :
◦ Coronary Heart Disease
◦ Coronary Heart Disease or well-known as COVID-
19 is very dangerous. COVID-19 affects different
people in different ways. Most infected people will
develop mild to moderate illness and recover without
hospitalization. The most common symptoms are
fever, dry cough and tiredness.

INFECTIOUS DISEASES
◦ Stroke second highest killer
◦ This disease which is resulted from the
loss of blood channelled to the brain.

assume flu as a common problem, and they
are not aware that it is the third highest
cause of death in Malaysia. Especially

women, or those with certain chronic health
conditions or who live in a nursing home.
Most cases of flu never lead to pneumonia,
but those that do tend to be more severe and
deadly.

◦ DENGUE
◦ Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne tropical
disease caused by the dengue virus.
Symptoms typically begin three to fourteen
days after infection. These may include a
high fever, headache, vomiting, muscle and
joint pains, and a characteristic skin rash.
Recovery generally takes two to seven days.
The symptoms are eye pain, headache,
muscle pain, rash and others.

◦ CHOLERA
◦ Cholera is an infectious disease that
causes severe watery diarrhea, which can
lead to dehydration and even death if
untreated. It is caused by eating food or
drinking water contaminated with a
bacterium called Vibrio cholerae.
Symptoms of cholera can begin as soon as
a few hours or as long as five days after
infection.

◦ 1. BACTERIA
◦ These one-cell organisms are responsible for illnesses such as strep
throat, urinary tract infectious and tuberculosis.
◦ Infectious disease can be spread through direct contact from person
to person. This can happen when an individual with the bacterium
touches, coughs or sneezes on someone who isn’t infected.
◦ Wash hands is important before and after preparing food, before
eating and after using the toilet and try not to touch your eyes.

◦ 2. VIRUS
◦ Even smaller than bacteria, viruses cause a multitude of
diseases ranging from the common cold to AIDS.
◦ Infectious disease can be spread through animal to person,
being bitten or scratched by an infected animal, even a pet,
can make you sick!!!
◦ We should get vaccinated. Vaccination can drastically
reduce your chances of contracting many diseases.

◦ 3. FUNGI
◦ Many skin diseases, such as ringworm and athlete’s foot, are
causes by fungi. Other types of fungi can infect your lungs or
nervous system.
◦ Infectious disease can be spread through indirect contact such
as insect bites. Some germs rely on insect carries such as
mosquitoes, fleas, lice or ticks to move from host to host.
◦ Other ways to prevent from infectious is don’t share your personal
items with others, such as toothbrush, towel and others.

◦ 4. PARASITES
◦ Organism that behave like tiny animals, living in or on a host and
feeding from or at the expense of the host. They can occur
anywhere.
◦ Example for parasites is protozoa, which are single-celled
organisms that can live inside or outside your body and are
commonly.
◦ Stay at home when you’re sick, especially when you have a
fever.

◦The progression of disease will be reduced
when we always maintain cleanliness and
health. With this we can be healthier and
less sick.
Steps to solve problems
◦The way to prevent from disease is to always
practice hygiene at all times such as washing
hands before eating and after eating, taking
vaccines and not sharing personal items with
others. Besides, we must always prevent
dangerous diseases such as dengue and
others.
