IN-HOUSE DESIGN ENGINEERING

PM Plastics Engineers remain on the forefront of plastic part and injection mold design
and engineering technology. Our design process starts with a technical mold design
and creating 2D or 3D CAD models designed for part manufacturing. Unlike other Plastic
Injection Molding Firms, PM Plastics is able to design and build injection molding tools
in-house which provide a seamless transition to the mold design process. Our custom
mold capabilities can be tailored as a turnkey solution or as a collaborative effort
including optimizing materials, finishes and machining operations.

PLASTIC INJECTION M OLDING

As part of our full service plastic injection molding manufacturing offerings, at PM Plastics,
we provide services that utilize a number of advanced molding processes. Our vast
capabilities can support the manufacturing of micro parts, miniatures, small parts, large
parts, and multiple component assemblies, and with most polymers, acrylics, and
thermoplastics. When paired with our supplemental finishing and support services, our
plastic molding capabilities become a turnkey solution to plastics manufacturing.

TOOLING DESIGN & BUILDING

With over 70 years of plastic injection mold design and building experience, PM Plastics
provides you with high precision molds designed and built to optimize performance and
tool longevity. Using the latest CAD technology and software, we create robust mold
designs for plastic injection molded parts for manufacturing. Our dedication to project
management and customer service provide you with modeling, design, mold flow analysis,
fabrication, testing, documentation, and support. Your molds can be fabricated from
aluminum, mild steel, or P20 tool steel depending on production volume and application.

ASSEM BLY AND PACKAGING

PM Plastics assembly teams provide trouble-free assembly services with individual
components meshing together as one part exactly to specifications quickly and efficiently.
For all your volume contract packaging needs, we can assembly, hand sort, bundle, bag,
and box per your exact requirements. Warehousing of your processed parts or products
and release to your facilities based on your inventory timing needs is also an available
service. Additionally we have the capability to receive raw materials, re-package inventory
into containers based on your specifications, and distribute re-packaged inventory to your
desired location.

IN-HOUSE FINISHING

In addition to our expertise in plastic injection molding, PM Plastics is fluent in many
assembly techniques and processes. There are several processes we can add to your
product to enhance its appearance such as, hydrographics, hot stamping, pad printing,
silk screening and label application ? all add design elements to make a product more
interesting or functional. Using these techniques we can achieve nearly any decorative
touch you need. We pride ourselves on design for manufacturability, providing the most
appropriate method for our customers?important assembly requirements.

We manufacture using virtually all types and grades of thermoplastic resins. We can assist in choosing the perfect material for
your project.

POLYPROPYLENE (PP)

Polypropylene is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications. A saturated addition polymer made from the
monomer propylene, it is rugged and unusually resistant to many chemical solvents, bases and acids.
Com m on ly Used For : Electrical hardware, chemical tanks, cable insulation, household goods and packaging

LOW DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (LDPE)

Polyethylene is a widely used, inexpensive, thermoplastic. It has good inherent lubricity, and is easy to process. Polyethylene has
good to excellent chemical resistance. It is also soft and cannot be used in temperatures much above 150. As a family, they are
light in weight and possess toughness, chemical resistance, impermeability as well as excellent electrical insulating properties.
Low density polyethylene is the softest and most flexible version of this material. It has high elongation giving it excellent impact
strength. This is offset by its permanent deformation upon impact.
Com m on ly Used For : Consumer products, houseware items, electronic wire/cable insulators and medical products.

HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (HDPE)

Polyethylene is a widely used, inexpensive, thermoplastic. It has good inherent lubricity, and is easy to process. Polyethylene has
good to excellent chemical resistance. It is also soft and cannot be used in temperatures much above 150. As a family, they are
light in weight and possess toughness, chemical resistance, impermeability as well as excellent electrical insulating properties.
High density polyethylene is the hardest and stiffest version of this material. It does not have the impact strength of low density,
but is more resilient.
Com m on ly Used For : Consumer products, houseware items, electronic wire/cable insulators and medical products.

PM PLASTICS- MATERIALSPAGE 1 OF 2

POLYURETHANE (PUR)

Solid Polyurethane is an elastomeric material of exceptional physical properties including toughness, flexibility, and resistance
to abrasion and temperature. Polyurethane has a broad hardness range, from eraser soft to bowling ball hard. Other
polyurethane characteristics include extremely high flex-life, high load-bearing capacity and outstanding resistance to weather,
ozone, radiation, oil, gasoline and most solvents.
Com m on ly Used For : Automotive suspension bushings, cushions, electrical compounds, hard plastic parts.

POLY-VINYL-CHLORIDE (PVC)

PVC has good flexibility, is flame retardant, and has good thermal stability, a high gloss, and low (to no) lead content. Polyvinyl
chloride molding compounds can be extruded, injection molded, compression molded, calendered, and blow molded to form
a huge variety of products, either rigid or flexible depending on the amount and type of plasticizers used.
Com m on ly Used For : Automobile instruments panels, sheathing of electrical cables, pipes, doors.

ACRYLONITRILE BUTADIENE STYRENE (ABS)

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene is a copolymer made by polymerizing styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of
polybutadiene. The styrene gives the plastic a shiny, impervious surface. The butadiene, a rubbery substance, provides
resilience even at low temperatures. A variety of modifications can be made to improve impact resistance, toughness, and
heat resistance.
Com m on ly Used For : Automotive body parts, dashboards, wheel covers

POLYSTYRENE (PS)

Naturally clear, polystyrene exhibits excellent chemical and electrical resistance. Special high gloss and high impact grades are
widely available. This easy to manufacture plastic has poor resistance to UV light.
Com m on ly Used For : Packaging, bottles, toys,

POLYCARBONATE (PC)

Amorphous polycarbonate polymer offers a unique combination of stiffness, hardness and toughness. It exhibits excellent
weathering, creep, impact, optical, electrical and thermal properties. Because of its extraordinary impact strength, it is the
material for car bumpers, helmets of all kinds and bullet-proof glass substitutes.
Com m on ly Used For : Bumpers, headlamp lenses, business machines, consumer products, telecommunications, medical
products and mechanical goods.

ACRYLIC/ POLYM ETHYL M ETHACRYLATE (PM M A)

Poly(methyl methacrylate also known as acrylic or acrylic glass as well as by the trade names Plexiglas, Acrylite, Lucite, and
Perspex among several others (see below), is a transparent thermoplastic often used in sheet form as a lightweight or
shatter-resistant alternative to glass. The same material can be utilized as a casting resin, in inks and coatings, and has many
other uses.
Com m on ly Used For : Signs, displays, car light covers, wash basins & baths, windows and screen
