Würth Group Invests in Logistics in Switzerland & Russia; Reports Sales Growth

The Swiss branch of the Würth Group is investing over €10 million in modernizing the warehouse and logistics
in Arlesheim, Switzerland. The construction work is set to be completed by the summer of 2018. Afterwards,

this state-of-the-art warehouse, originally built in 2003, will be well equipped for many
years to come. Also, at the end of 2016, Würth Russia celebrated the opening of a new
logistics center in St. Petersburg, Russia. The new building, located in an industrial park on the outskirts of St.
Petersburg, is 14,000 m2 in size and includes a 1000 m2 chemicals warehouse and 2000 m2 of office space.
From this site, the company can supply customers all over the northwest region of the country.
Also, according to its preliminary annual financial statement, Würth Group saw a sales volume of €11.8 billion
in 2016 versus last year’s €11.0 billion, for an increase of 7.1% (7.9% in local currencies).
“Our multi-channel sales strategy takes effect,” commented Robert
Friedmann, Chairman of the Würth Group Central Managing Board. “Be
it by making investments in e-business or by opening new branch offices,
Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG plans to step up the number of branch of-
fices from the current 437 to 480 in 2017. We give our customers a choice,
are always available and our offer goes down well with our customers.”
Additionally, the Würth Group’s south and eastern European Group
companies have done exceptionally well, thus compensating for the difficult
market situations in western Europe and North America.
