TAROT ROYALE 2015

TAROT ROYALE 2015

THE ROYALE THREAD.

Created by Lee Bursten

This spread has no spread positions.  Simply think of a question or topic, and then lay
out five cards in a horizontal row.  If you like, you can see the left-to-right progression as
indicative of past to future, but this isn't necessary.

The key to working with this spread is to forget about specific meanings of the cards
and instead focus on individual elements and how they relate to each other between
cards.  Look over the cards and see if any particular element or relationship of elements
jumps out at you, and see if you can relate it to your question or topic.  After that, you'll
start to notice other elements and relationships.  Before you know it, the five cards will
reveal an interlaced network of meaningful connections.

Relationships between card elements can be discovered in several ways.  Perhaps a per-
son on one card is looking at a person or thing on another card.  Perhaps an object is
pointing at another object.  Are two people on different cards holding a sword?  If so, is
there something significant about the difference in the way the swords are held?

Keep an eye out for objects that are similar to other objects.  How are they similar?
How are they different?  You can also notice if there are two objects which are different
but which occupy the same part of their respective cards; you can imagine one of the ob-
jects transforming into the other.

King of Pentacles, Strength, 10 of Swords, 6 of Wands, and the Wheel.

These cards were selected at random, yet they show a very orderly pattern.  Both the
maiden and the lion in Strength are traveling toward the King of Pentacles.  Likewise, on
the opposite side, the warrior in the 6 of Wands is traveling toward the Wheel.  In the
middle, the 10 of Swords provides a central vertical anchor to the left and right move-
ment on either side.  Perhaps the 10 of Swords refers to a specific incident in the present,
and the cards show a progression to the left for the past and to the right toward the fu-
ture.  Or perhaps the 10 of Swords refers to a decision, and the left and right sides show
various parameters and consequences of two possible choices.

We can see various relationships among elements on the cards.  The back of the
King's throne is shaped similarly to the wings on the creatures surrounding the
Wheel.  The King holds his scepter horizontally, while the warrior on the 6 of Wands
holds his staff perpendicularly.  That staff seems to expand to become the central me-
chanical figure on the Wheel.  The red poppies on the 10 of Swords become the four ru-
bies on the outer rim of the Wheel.  Meaningful associations between all of these rela-
tionships and your question or topic can be made.

FOUR SEASONS SPREAD

Created by Christiana Gaudet

The structure of this spread is the calendar year divided into four seasons and the
eight Pagan holidays. You do not need to celebrate the Pagan Wheel of the Year to use
the spread. The Wheel of the Year divides the year into eight equal parts. Each part is
marked by a holiday, which is a solstice, equinox or cross-quarter day. Each holiday
carries specific energies, which are used to create the position meanings. The Wheel of
the Year brings a deeply spiritual focus to the reading, and inherently creates sacred
space for your reading.

There are two distinct ways to perform this spread.

You can use it to perform an annual predictive reading for the New Year, a birthday
or an anniversary. Interpret the four Season cards to give the overall energy you can
anticipate for each upcoming season. Interpret the Wheel of the Year cards (two for
each season) to give specific information and advice pertinent to each season. Begin the
reading with the current season, and move forward from there. Don’t worry about the
position meanings, simply see the spread as a time- line for the coming year.

ou can also perform this spread at any time as a comprehensive tarot reading. Inter-
pret the positions as follows.
