A Word From

Our Principal

Welcome to Excel High School and the 2020 football season. At Excel Public
School, our goal is to ensure that our students leave us as well-rounded young men
and ladies. Extracurricular activities play a vital part in helping achieve this goal. In
my 29 years in education, I have served as a head coach and administrator; therefore,
I know first-hand the time, dedication and commitment that it takes on the part of so
many people. Coach Sellers, Mrs. Hanks, and Mr. Higginbotham, along with many
others, have worked tirelessly in preparation for this season; and as principal, I
certainly appreciate the sacrifices that they make on a daily basis. You do not just
show up on Friday night and play and cheer. There is much work and sweat behind the
scenes that most people never see. Our athletes, cheerleaders, and band have also put
in numerous hours of work over the past several weeks, so please tell them that you

appreciate them and their efforts.
Positive reinforcement goes a long way
in boosting a student’s self-esteem and
morale. Lessons learned through
extracurricular activities help mold and
prepare our students today for their lives
tomorrow. These are also lessons that
they will carry with them into adulthood.

I want to say a special thank you to
the businesses and individuals who
support our school and various
programs. You are investing in the lives
and future of our students and I
appreciate your willingness to do so.

Again, thank you for your attendance
of tonight’s game, and I wish you safe
travels home.

A Word from

Head Coach Sellers

I am very blessed and honored to be
given the opportunity to be the head
football coach at Excel High School.
My family and I genuinely love Excel
and consider this our home. Excel
is a special place, and I embrace the
responsibility as well as the challenge
of revitalizing a football program with
the potential to be just as unique.

Our goal will be to provide a positive

experience for young men in our

community that will build character,

teach lessons and provide memories

that last a lifetime. We want everyone

in Excel to be proud of this football

program, and we realize the standards

that need to be met to achieve just that.

We will accomplish these goals

through extreme hard work and Jackson, Ashley, Larkin Elizabeth, Coach Sellers and Cody Jr.
dedication. We will develop an iron

will and a determination unmatched by those around us. We will represent our community and school with

the utmost class and character. Our players will make Excel proud of their performance and behavior in all

aspects. What comes easy, won’t last... what lasts, won’t come easy. I look forward to this season and thank

God every night for opening this door on my journey.

I want to personally give a huge “THANK YOU!” to our booster club for all their support and hard work.
In the last two years, they have upgraded our facility to give our boys a better chance at success. We look
forward to the future growth of our program both on and off the field.
