WOW! CARNIVAL
VENICE CARNIVAL
Here is the information you need for the Venice carnival dates in 2020 and all
the events. The Venice Carnival 2020 will begin from Saturday, 8 Feb, 2020
and will concluded on Tuesday, 25 Feb, 2020. If you want to know when is
Carnival in Venice, then you must remember these dates.
The extravagant Venice Carnival festival is indeed a legacy that’s been around
since 13th century. Though there was a time when a ban was imposed on
masks and the carnival, during the Austrian conquest in 1798, the festivity
was brought back in 1979. It did indeed work as a catalyst for tourism, and
also gave a chance to give a fresh start to the celebration as most people had
forgotten about the tradition. Today, the Venice Festival of masks goes on for
good two weeks with many free events that are open for the public.
MAGGIO MUSICALE FIORENTINO
In 1928 Florence created an Orchestra, a seemingly natural consequence of the
growing international dimension of a city that for centuries had been devoted,
like few others, to art and culture. It was a courageously elitist decision for the
time and resulted, in 1933, in the first Festival of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino,
which followed the European tradition of presenting theatre and music
together. It is now the oldest festival in Europe after Salzburg and Bayreuth.
It is for its prestigious history through the last decades that still today the
Maggio, with its top-notch offering of opera and concerts, continues to be
synonymous with innovation, purpose, and an interdisciplinary vision of music
and performance, concerts and exhibition, and opera and seminars, which
complements and perfectly embodies the vibrant culture of the unique and
stunning city of Florence - a city of art, monuments and museums, and a city
enriched with an incomparable, magnificent past.
EASTER IN ROME
Easter ceremonies will take place at the Vatican, but there is not yet
consensus on exactly how and who can attend. As of March 18, they
are still reviewing the situation. Because of the current lockdown due to
Coronavirus, the Vatican has announced that one decision they have
made is that no members of the public may be attend in St Peter’s Square.
The main thing people ask me about Easter in Rome time is how crowded
it is (hint - less than you might think).
The funny thing is that up until the early 2000's (right before the internet
became many people's number one resource for trip planning), Rome
used to get really crowded at Easter.
Easter is one of the most important holidays, if not the most important
holiday in the Catholic calendar. And Rome can be famously crowded at
Easter, due to all the pilgrims pouring in from around the world for the
(church-related) festivities.
OPERA FESTIVAL
"teatro dell" Opera di Roma has gained an increase in international prestige
over the years, hosting performances by world-renowned artists such as
Caruso, Gigli, Del Monaco, Maria Callas, Renata Tebaldi, Montserrat Caballé
and Raina Kabaivanska, as well as acclaimed orchestra conductors
Toscanini, De Sabata, Klemperer, Abbado and the Master Riccardo Musti
since 2008.And the 2020 season is no exception. From ballet and opera to
musicals, concerts and drama, there is something in store for every theater
enthusiast.
Opera and ballet performances are staged between Jan and Nov at Teatro
Costanzi, while during the summer, the program takes place in the stunning
scenery of the open-air Roman Terme di Caracalla. While mid June, the
program changes location and takes place at the Circo Massimo instead of
the outdoor Roman Terme di Caracalla. The program includes 21
performances ranging from opera and ballet to concerts and galas with stars
like Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to
enjoy the opera scene under the stars, with a 1500sqm stage and 1000 seats,
ensuring all safety measures and distancing.
THE TOURIST IS COMING
INTO TOWN
Rome is known as the Eternal City due to its
long history. But it persists all the time, and
now it's still charming on its sleeve, something
that is complemented by a charming local.
Rome was once the center of the powerful
Roman state. You can go back in time with
numerous monuments from the old days.
There are many attractions.
The Colosseum, one of the main Roman
attractions is a large outdoor stadium in the
center of Rome. Is a prototype of various
sports fields today In the past, it was a brutal
arena for the gladiators. A showdown for
strength And it is a
wonder of the world as well.
Piazza Navona, is one of the most famous and
most beautiful squares in Rome. That is full of
vitality There are many restaurants to choose
from to sit and relax. The view is definitely
worth it. When seeing the colorful buildings
Beautiful architecture A beautiful fountain set
around Paintings and shows of various artists.
Pantheon, the oldest square-shaped temple in Rome. It is more than 2,000 years
old, although its history and history is not very clear, but this temple is a clear
representation of ancient art from the Roman era. As well as the thoughtful
craftsmanship and design ingenuity of past architects. In addition to beauty and
holiness, the Pantheon is also a prestigious place where important figures are
kept.
You can visit these and other old sights such as Roman Forum, Palatine Hill,
Saint Peter's Basilica, etc.
All roads used to lead to Rome once. May one of these roads take you to Italy's
capital as well, where thousands of attractions, great food and drinks await you.
