Dear Friends, Partners, and Supporters,2025 was an action-packed year for River Bridge as we prepared for and successfully completed ourreaccreditation with the National Children’s Alliance (NCA). This marked the organization’s fourth timenavigating this rigorous process, and I am thrilled to share that we passed with flying colors once again.Accreditation by the NCA is vital because it guarantees that Children's Advocacy Centers (CACs) provideconsistent, evidence-based, and trauma-informed care for child abuse victims, establishing a uniformstandard of excellence nationwide. We undergo this review every five years, and it has been my distinctpleasure to lead River Bridge through successful reaccreditations in 2015, 2020, and most recently in May of2025.Immediately following our successful site review, I was blessed with the opportunity to take a three-monthsabbatical. I am incredibly thankful to our Board of Directors for granting me this time, and to ourremarkable staff for ensuring completely smooth operations in my absence. Sabbaticals are becoming morecommon in the nonprofit world, and for good reasons: they prevent burnout and extend leadership tenure.Furthermore, they offer a valuable test of succession planning, giving the Board a clearer view oforganizational resilience while building internal capacity and offering staff fresh leadership opportunities. For me, this time away from day-to-day routines provided the space to rest, rejuvenate, and focus on longterm strategic vision planning. I am deeply encouraged to see other leaders in our community receivingsimilar opportunities. In 2025, we also observed a continued decrease in referrals. While we don’t know the exact catalyst for thisshift, it has allowed us to strategically pivot our priorities toward prevention, outreach, and awareness. Tothat end, our team completed a comprehensive community needs assessment on child abuse prevention inGarfield County. This assessment gives us a concrete starting point for future prevention programming andstrengthens our ties with vital community partners. We are excited to see where this work takes us, and weremain hopeful that we might someday work ourselves out of the job of responding to child abuse, focusinginstead on building resilient, healthy children and communities. We are excited to see where 2026 takes us and remain profoundly hopeful for the future.02RIVER BRIDGE REGIONAL CENTER ANNUAL REPORT 2025 A LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORSincerely,Blythe ChapmanExecutive Director
