Mawas bone dagger is just a mixture of ordinary dagger iron and iron produced from the mawas bone. The dagger with mawas bones are no different from the look and color of other dagger. It's just that it contains poison in it. The craftsman is very careful when forging a dagger that wants to insert this mawas bone because it will make the craftsman dizzy, nauseous and sick.

Mawas or known as bigfoot is an animal that has iron bones on the shinbone and elbow bones. These bones are used by them to cut down trees. The shape of mawas bone is like a sickle. Sounds strange right? But this is a true story! What is Mawas?

There is a book titled “Keris Melayu Semenanjung” written by Hj. Zamri Ahmad. In this book he tells the story of his teacher making a dagger from mawas bone. When his teacher forged this mawas bone dagger, it released a green spark that brought tears to his eyes so he ran out.

A study has been carried out at UTM that can reveal why when a mawas bone dagger is forged, it emits a green light that brings tears to the eyes and can reveal other elements in the mawas bone. Normal animal or human bones have calcium elements, but mawas bone has another element, which is barium nitrate. If we do research, this barium nitrate is the material found in fireworks and neon lights.

So this proves the cause of the green color that brings tears to the eyes when forged. In addition, if barium nitrate comes into contact with the body, it can cause our organs to malfunction. Actually, this discovery is a very rare.
