FROM SPELMAN TECHNOLOGY SERVICES

The Faculty Technology Guide lists the most commonly used technology resources available to
you as a Spelman employee to help you achieve your goals, and garner increased productivity and
collaboration in your workspace, or the classroom.
The Division of Spelman Technology Services has a host of knowledgeable staff should you require assistance.
Spelman has classrooms with embedded technology to aid faculty and students in the learning process. The
majority of public and academic spaces have access the College’s WiFi network. All of the campus community
have access to technological innovations thru supported collaborative, interactive productivity tools.

Getting Connected

Your OneSpelman ID is the account credential you use to login to many of the enterprise systems you will
utilize in your daily life at Spelman College. You use your OneSpelman credentials to access Spelman’s network
and computing infrastructure, including access to campus-wide WIFI, network resources, and to login to desktop
computers on campus.
You also use your OneSpelman credentials to access MySpelman, the College’s single sign-on portal
(my.spelman.edu). The MySpelman portal provides single-sign on to access most enterprise applications. This
means that you will be using the one OneSpelman ID and password to access most of the applications offered to
you as faculty.

All faculty receive a OneSpelman ID as a part of completing their onboarding.

Your OneSpelman ID is the first part of your email
address (before @spelman.edu).

The format of email addresses is the following:

address and gives you access to the following

gateway to many campus technology resources,
providing single-sign-on access to the most
commonly used systems.

network throughout campus; in all campus

Microsoft Outlook Zoom is a web collaboration tool that allows you
to meet virtually from your mobile device,

Spel.eLearn (Moodle) is the Learning
Instructional Technology & Design ITD) Management System used at Spelman College
to support web-enriched courses.
ITD supports the selection, evaluation, implementation,
and delivery of learning materials/systems to make Faculty use Moodle (Spel.eLearn) to:
teaching and learning more efficient for faculty, staff
and students. ✓ Organize and deliver course materials
✓ Deliver tests online
Technology Training: ✓ Administer self-tests and surveys
✓ Post lecture notes
