My goal as a teacher is to ensure that my students
could build a meaningful connections and comfortable
to walk through the journey in learning with me.
Effective communication and knowledge could be
shared with the students in most creative and
collaborative ways. I am certain that the needs of the
students are achieved in any possible ways to gain
knowledge.

MicroTeaching

For my last semester of taking Bachelor in Teaching English as
Second Language, the MicroTeaching subject is a very crucial
subjects to take before the students went for an internship. My
lecturer for this subject is one and only Madam Nirmala. My
expectations for this subject started with negativity as all the
senior tells us that we have so many deadlines to meet. After weeks
of attending class, this subject has been one of my favourite subject
for this semester. This class is full of activities and Madam Nirmala
did prepare us the knowledge before we becoming the real teachers.
Honestly, I really love attending this class even when Madam
Nirmala make an etxra class on weekends. The knowledge and
experience I have gained through this subject is useful for us, the
future teachers to improve our skills and understanding towards
teaching. Overall, I love my experience with this subjects and I
hope to still able to learn more throughout the years.

Introduction

First day of micro teaching class a lot thoughts comes into
my mind. Madam Nirmala started the class with
introducing briefly about the topic and overview of what
we will be learning throughout this subject. She explained
the do and don'ts in the class and rules that shall be
followed throughout this semester for the subject. The
stress has begun as Madam Nirmala shows us the Scheme
Of Work. The first class was fun and we did have some
ideas of what the class shall be.

Teaching and Microteaching

First lecture according to the topic, Madam Nirmala has
started with differentiate what is teaching and
mictroteaching. We had gone through the DSKP for
English subjects as well as Science DSKP for the science
teachers. There are a few of microteaching skills
breakdown into 8, the process and steps before the
teaching starts. Understanding the DSKP an dLesson Plan
is the very crucial part in todays' learning.

Lesson Plan

Lesson of the day is quite simple which is Madam Nirmala
asked us to identify the elements in the lesson plan and
together went through it. She did explain about each
details on the lesson plan and how to make perfect lesson
plan. We had seen the sample and templates of the lesson
plan and tried to make one lesson plan based on our
mockteaching topic.

Learning Objectives

Topic 2, the learning objectives in lesson plan.For the
lesson, we have encountered the importance of learning
objectives and identify the components such as writing
statements according to the DSKP. The learning objectives
should follows the educational domains and the Bloom
Taxonomy. Not to forget the SMART components and tips
given by Madam Nirmala which is A+B+C+D = Clear
Learning Objectives.

Learning Objectives

Our first tutorial class starts which Mahjong paper and a
marker into groups to construct the complete learning
objectives. Madam Nirmala teach us step bys step in
making lesson plan for us to understand it better. Our
group has pick the topic Journey for Form 2 students and
develop the speaking skills. We wrote the content
standard and learning standard according to the DSKP and
start writing our objectives.

Set Induction

The third topic for the subject is Set Induction. Little did I
know about teaching, no one have ever mentioned that it is
important to catch students attention by entering the
class. By this topic introduced to me, I was very excited
and became so creative about catching the students'
attention. We have learned how impactful it could attract
the students to learn and some strategies for us future
teachers to use in the classroom.

Teaching Materials

Topic 4,Teaching Aids in Language Teaching. In the class,
we have identify types of teaching materials, appropriate
teaching materials and its functions. We understood the
Teaching Behavioural Pyramid that shows how the
students learning develop from the materials used. as a
teacher, I understand that the materials could help the
students' learning into variety of activities and thinking
tools that is very important to them. Madam Nirmala
mentioned that the teaching materials should be visible
and colourful. "THE BIGGER THE BETTER"

Stimulus Variation

Stimulus Variations is the topic for the day. In this topic,
we have ;earned the types of stimulus variation and
demonstrate the application of stimulus variation used in
the class. The stimulus variation comes within the
teachers action to get the students' attention. There are a
few factors that contribute to the students attention and
components skills of stimuli us variation that need to be
focused on. In this topic. Madam Nirmala has stressed on
how important to use the stimulus variation to make the
students feels validate and not left out in the class.

Set Induction Presentation

This is our mockteaching presentation, the class was full
very fun. All of us participate in each other's set induction
presentation. the highlight of that day was Edrianne, pur
classmates brought her cat in the class as part of the
teaching aids tyhat connect to her topic. Suddenly there is
a group of lecturer entered our class to supervise our
activities. I had so much fun and learnt a lot from my
classmates presentation. I got to learn from their mistakes
and took Madam Nirmala's advice to improve our teaching
skills in the future.

Questioning Techniques

Madam Nirmala taught us the topic Questioning
Techniques. For the topic, we have learnt how to use types
of questioning, responses to questions and developing
questions using Bloom Taxonomy. There are also a few
strategies for questioning and responding techniques.
After the students answer the questions, there are also
assesment criteria that the teacher should take count. It
seems simple but very important to the students and the
teacher.

Reinforcement Strategies

Madam Siti Hajar entered the class to replace Madam
Nirmala for the day. She taught us the topic of
Reinforcement Strategies. There are three types of
strategies that includes reinforcement, reinforces and
punishment. each of the startegies has their own strength
depending on the need of the clasroom and the student's
behaviour. I have learned that before we use any
strategies, as a teacher we should consider how beneficial
it is for the students.

Assignment Presentation

On this day, we had our assignment presentation. We had
to show our lesson plan that includes games based
activities in it. Our group had presented a Giant Jenga
actvities to be included in English learning. The
spectacular group, Aiman's group had the Giant Ladder
Game that they made from a piece of cloth. Syukriah's
group had made a very versatile monoploy insipred game
baordthat is very interesting. I had os much fun seeing my
classmates' creativity that is very inspiring.

Online Presentation

This is our second mock teaching session which is the Pre
Lesson presentation. Many of my classmates present their
mock teaching on that day and all of them being very
engaging. I love hearing feedback from my classmates and
Madam Nirmala to improve myself in teaching. I am very
passionate to see eyeryone's work for me to be more
creative. Madam Nirmala has given so much positive
feedback and reinforce us in very motivating way.

Closure

Our main classroom had a problem so we moved to the
Lecture Hall. Our class were held for one hour and the
another one hour we had an online class. Madam Nirmala
taught us the topic for pur mock teaching which is Closure.
In this topic, I discover there is so many techniques can be
used for 5 minutes closure. the closure should include a
reflective thinking and assessment criteria. We had a
short activity which Madam asked us to briefly choose one
clsoure activity and explain it to the class.

Whiteboard Techniques

Our last topic is the whitebaord techniques. Our class does
not provide the whiteboard, so instead we just bought
MahJong paper and paste it on the wall. Everyone has to
take turns to wrtite on the Mahjong paper. Madam Nirmala
explain to us the techniques to hold the marker so that our
handwriting is big enough for the tsudents to read. She
also mentioned about the elements that should be thre on
the whiteboard such as date, day and learning objectives
shoukd be written before the class starts.

Blog Presentation

Blog Assignment Presentation was held during the class.
We had to present our educational blog for the students to
access. According to our topic, we had to includes all the
skills on our blog. In my opinion, I really like Aiman's group
educational blog because it was interesting, easy to work
with and so informative. As for other groups, they did
really well but Aiman, Farisya and Areesha always done it
better. This is the only presentation left for the
assessment beside the last mock teaching.

Nothing much for the class as Madam wants to see us for
an hour beacuse she got meeting. Madam just remind us
about our portfolio that need to be done befire Christmas
Break and the recording mockteaching. Thank you Madam
for keep reminding us and never neglected your students
even you are so busy with other task as a lecturer.

Online MockTeaching

This class was held online by Madam Nirmala for an hour.
During an hour, Madam has asked us to present the last
mockteaching which is the Closure. Only for those who has
prepared to present. The class ws pretty simple and
straightforward. Before the class ends, Madam has remind
us to complete our portfolio before the due date.

consisted and energy is very vibrant and energetic. She also gives
feedback right away after the students respond which is a good thing.
Lastly in the closure she did give a homework according to the topic
based on the textbook to make sure the students understand the

Conclusion

I would like to say thank you to Madam Nirmala for the
guidance throughout the semester. Thank you so much for you
patience and tolerance. My classmates and I are very thankful
for your existence to teach us this subject.

To my fellow classmates I really had so much fun working with
all of you. Thank you for your advice and share your ideas with
me. All of you does inspired me to be better day by day. Also to
my support system, Datuk Ibrahim Darus and Datin Zanilatun
Kamariah (my parents), siblings (Amirul Akmal) and my
husband (Putra Ahmad Faisal) for always be there giving me
motivation to keep going. Thank you for lending me your
energy to help me throughout the journey.

For the conclusion, I am very satisfied and happy with the
subject micro teaching. I have learned a lot of new skills,
knowledge and received advices from my beloved lecturer. I
have learned to become a better educator and my passion in
teaching are definitely increasing. I cannot wait for my
internship.
