Profile

Syakirah Shafiee

A final year student, and currently pursuing
Bachelor in Teaching English as a Second
Language (BTESL) at the Management and
Science University, Shah Alam. I am sooner to
be an English teacher for my internship and
may everything will go well.

Not everyone loves to teach, and not everyone can
teach. Teaching needs to be part of someone
passionate. Teaching requires an educator to own
high tolerance in order to educate people.

a huge responsibility carried by a teacher is
something that will give an impact on someone's
life calls student. with the eagerness of teaching
sincerely, a teacher could lead a student to turn
over a new leaf and honor the teacher endlessly.

Overall Reflection on

Microteaching Class

By learning this subject, I find that microteaching can assist
and enhance my organizing and planning abilities. Not just
that, I learned to be more efficient by having to plan and
present the teaching ideas. It sharpens my creativity as
well in preparing the teaching aids.

Moreover, microteaching focuses on specific skills and
methods which allow for fast feedback and modification.
Feedback from peers or my lecturer, Madam Nirmala, may
be extremely beneficial in enhancing my teaching abilities.

Additionally, microteaching allows me to experiment with
novel teaching approaches and ideas. On another hand,
experimentation assists me in discovering new teaching
approaches that are more successful than in my previous
school or current ways.

Hence, by progressively raising the level of difficulty,
microteaching fosters confidence. Most importantly, this
subject helps me to test out new material or concepts in a
low-stakes environment. This technique has assisted me to
controls nervousness like anxiety and boosting confidence
while teaching.

turn-taking to answer the discussion, we also
had a discussion on the changes between KBSM
& KSSM. I realized that there are so many
changes that I have not noticed compared to
during my school.

Moreover, during this lesson, I got to know we

are not supposed to simply create a lesson in

our own way as we need to follow the DSKP. I

was able to understand that DSKP plays a very

important role for teachers in order to create a

lesson plan as we need to follow the Content

Lesson Plan (L.S,

C.S, & L.O)

On this day, it was the first time we were exposed
to the SMART TV class. It was so fascinating!
There's a technician that introduced us to how the
SMART Tv worked. We were having thought that it
would extra amazing if we are introduced to the
use of this SMART Tv from the beginning.

Furthermore, we had a quiz given by Madam
Nirmala on what we had learned from the previous
lesson about the lesson plan. Apart from that, we
also learned that the learning objective should be
connected with the LS.

This tutorial class helped me understand how to
identify the A, B, C, and D in the lesson plan. Not
only that, but after submitting on Padlet, Madam
gave us feedback, and I learned that I needed to be
more clear about what I wanted to focus on. This
session helped me understand how a solid objective
could be built and gave me a clear image of how I
should write it when I start my internship later this
year.

Our aim during this tutorial class was to re-edit
last week's lesson plan and ensure that the set
induction was more detailed. This comprised the
methods for gaining the students' attention during
the set induction. In this section, there were
several ways that might be applied.

There are several important notes that we should consider when
creating a lesson plan such as follows:

To write from the teacher's POV.
Not to predict the students' actions or responses.
Prepare a backup plan.
Need to ensure that all the activities in a whole lesson plan are
connected.
During the set induction, teacher needs to mention the LO.

selected to focus on the theme Wonders of Nature

for our scrapbook project. Oceans, Desert, and

Seasons were the three primary topics we wanted

to cover in our scrapbook. The process of creating

the material was enjoyable, but it also demanded a

significant amount of time and attention.

We searched on the internet extensively to
get ideas and information for the scrapbook.
Not only that, but we wanted to ensure that
the scrapbook we created could be utilized
for three different activities. Furthermore,
we had to guarantee that the content was
appropriate for the intended students.

Lecture

Stimulus Variation

Throughout this lesson, we still learned how
attention-getting works. A teacher might enter the
class by wearing costumes, using music, bringing
along some props, and more.

Additionally, we were taught about stimulus variation. It is
something we should do to maintain the attention-getting of
the students. They are intensity, contrast, movement, audio-
visual aids, and the teacher's personal behavior.

The teacher's gestures and standing position also matter in the
classroom. Learning this chapter made me notice that my
teacher back in school rarely implement all these methods. If I
were to be a teacher in the future, I will ensure my students will
not face the same situation as mine.

Not only that, but responses included answering questions
to the classroom, referring to a resource before
addressing questions, and asking students to stop after
class to discuss the topics. This class taught me that even
asking questions need tactics and strategies to be
effective with students.

Closure

Madam Nirmala taught us about Closure for this

lesson. She emphasized that closure is also important

in part of the lesson as it will give an impact and

leave meaningful learning to students. It can be seen

when the topic is brought to the next lesson, whether

the students still can remember.

Teachers can analyze whether the

students understood the lesson that

has been taught or not. In my

opinion, a proper closure is very

crucial for every lesson.

Presentation

As for this project, I was

assigned to do speaking skills

for Form 2. The topic chosen is

Unit 7: Journeys.

I enjoyed preparing all these
teaching aids. I hope that
these efforts are worth the
pain. I drew a storyboard
which in order to enhance the
student's speaking skills, they
will have to construct a
continuous storyline based on
the scenes given and it will be
impromptu storytelling.

Additionally, I created some riddles and used toy figures

that related to the topic which is about transportation.

Lastly, I provided a memo pad for students to share their

experiences with public transportation

Creating and designing reflection,

not only enhance my creativity but

also built a discipline in me as I need

to jot down the important notes for

every lesson. On another hand,

reflection helps me easy to recap
what I have learned in this subject

as well as it will train me in the

future as a teacher to always

prepare a reflection and helps me to

refer whenever I needed.
