Frederick Collins (2011) stated that “There are two types of people who come into a room
and say 'Well, here I am!' and those who come in and say 'Ah, there you are'”. An interpersonal
conflict is a disagreement between two individuals or a group of an organization that involve
significant resentment. The main purpose this forum had been held because to ensure the
community know well about problems and it solutions in interpersonal conflict. This is because
this forum is about to discuss the problems of interpersonal conflict and how to solve it. There
are a lot of problems that can occur from interpersonal conflict. In this forum, the three panels
will discuss three problems and the solutions each. One of the problems in interpersonal
conflict is poor communication among colleagues. The best solution for this problem is
organized a social event that successfully.
First, one of the problems in interpersonal conflict is lack of communication between colleagues
Lack of communication in the workplace can occur on a large scale, such as between
management and employees. It also can occur on smaller scale between individual employees
itself. Failure to communicate effectively can directly often to conflict, which can affect the
peaceful of an organization. For instance, when team members do not share important
information among them, they may make decision or take actions that others consider
inappropriate or even harmful. Blame and questions about motives can result in discord among
the team. This problem also can lead to misunderstanding which can contribute to mistakes,
missed deadlines and altered project directions. A frustration can occur when staff member
feels their work has been wasted for not conveying the proper information in a timely manner.
Next, every problem must have its own solutions. Same as this issue also has its own solution.
The best solution for this problem is organized their own social event by themselves. This is
because managing an event successfully is one of the communications that they can leverage
on to communicate to the external environment or stranger to them. For example, by getting
the right people to help out is really important when handling an event. Choosing the wrong
people may affect the organization and the works will not success. If it is a campus event, pin
down some university mates together with any staff that could give you a hand. This can
overcomes lack of communication. In addition, by creating an event, they indirectly will
communicate with others and make new friends. Besides, they can gain their communication
skills.
In a nutshell, the reason this forum been held is to tell the community about the problems of
interpersonal conflict and how to solve it. One of the problems of interpersonal conflict is lack
of communication among colleagues. Organized an event can help to overcome the problem. It
is hope that the audiences especially among teenagers will accept the point that had been
discussed and the authorities will organize more programs like this.
