PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Principal Daniels

Hello JCBA Family,

Can you believe it is November already? There are only three weeks
until Thanksgiving. Allow me to first say “Thank You.” Thank you for
staying engaged, staying safe, staying connected and staying the
course. As we continue to navigate through this new journey of living
day to day in the times of COVID, please know that the Joseph C.
Briscoe Family is here for you. We are here to support you, work to
locate resources for you, and help you get and stay connected with
online learning.

To the families who will be participating in Face-2-Face learning beginning November 9, 2020, I say
thank you as well. Thank you for trusting our staff with your loved one. We will practice social
distancing while lighting the flame of excitement and pride back into learning that so many of our
scholars have missed since March. We will work diligently to ensure the program is successful and
keep you updated along the way. On the first day back, each student will receive the modified
schedule. Scholars will follow CDC guidelines and the school has PPE, air purifiers in each class and
new desks and chairs. (continued on next page)

Continue to uplift efforts by all. As a school community, we salute your trust and support. On
a higher note, if your child is a 2021 graduate, we will be hosting our Senior Inauguration
virtually and have connected with Galeone Photographers to set up appointments for your
child to have his/her cap and gown photos taken. More details to follow.

We will continue to work to ensure that we support our families and staff during this
pandemic. We can get through this much better if we stick together. Stay masked up, stay safe
and remember to practice mental and physical wellness.

Parent of the Month!

Each month, JCBA will be honoring one parent or caregiver who has gone above and
beyond to support their student. Our November parent of the month is....

Heather "Mrs. Henninger is always on top of Sophia's education.
Henninger She makes sure that Sophia is accommodated in order to

bring out the best from her potential."

"I love Mrs. Henninger for being a great advocate to her
daughter."

“I hear her supporting Sophia online. She also communicates
with Mr. Soriano and gives him updates on Sophia and how

she enjoys his online instruction.”

Congratulations to Mrs. Henninger for her excellent work and support! She will be
receiving a gift on behalf of JCBA's Family and Community Engagement Committee.

**ATTEND THE SCHOOL FAMILY COUNCIL**

The School Family Council is a group of staff, parents, community members, and students
who meet to discuss school updates and ideas. Meetings happen every 2nd Thursday of the

month at 8am via Zoom, and they are open to the entire school community!
