Independent Family Visit to Downtown Visalia

1

Downtown Visalians is a
Certified Autism Center.

Their office is located in
downtown next to the
Comfort Suites hotel.

2

At the Downtown Visalians 3
office, my family can ask a
staff member if we can check
out a sensory backpack.

If one is available, I can use it
during our entire trip. It will

include different sensory toys
for me.

If we check out a sensory
backpack, it must be returned

before we leave Visalia.

Downtown Visalia is
72 square blocks!
Main Street is the
most popular road
downtown.

Downtown Visalia has
changed a lot over the

years.

4

Downtown Visalia is a beautiful place to visit
year-round, day or night.

5

If my family has any
questions about Visalia or

would like any
maps/guides we can go
to the Visit Visalia office.

Their office is located on
Main Street.

6

I can also pick up a free Sunflower product at the
Visit Visalia office. I can choose between a lanyard,

ID card, lapel pin or wristband.

7

Some businesses in Downtown Visalia recognize the
Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program.

If a business has a Sunflower sticker in their window it
means that their staff are trained to recognize and help

those wearing the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower.

8

There are a lot of different things to do and
see in downtown. Here are just a few:

Farmer’s Market Local Restaurants Murals

Sequoia Legacy Tree Shopping Painted Fire Hydrants 9

In downtown, we can
see the Sequoia
Legacy Tree.

This tree was planted
in 1936, making it over

85 years old.

10

While we walk downtown we can look at all of
the unique fire hydrants. Local artists paint
them every year. Each one is different.

11

If I would like to learn
about the history of
Downtown Visalia, my
family and I can go on a
self-guided walking tour.

We can pick up a brochure
at the Visit Visalia office.

12

We can also see the beautifully painted murals
throughout downtown. The Visit Visalia office has a

map we can use to help us find each one.

13

If I get hungry, there are a lot of yummy restaurants
to eat at in downtown. If my family wants

recommendations or a restaurant guide we can go to
the Visit Visalia office.

14

I am ready to visit Downtown Visalia!
